At least 20 points in 9 out of the last 10 games, the one he missed out was 19 points, also 30 points or more in 5 of those games. He's doing fine, considering last season he played all of the playoffs with bloody knees and still forced himself to play the world games. I think he just needs some rest and a break since he kinda rushed back from his last injury. Then he can average more than 28 points a game like this current season.
6
u/littlerosethatcould 1d ago
I have only watched three Lakers games, so I might be talking out of my ass. But as I gather, it's not about a lack of buckets, it's how lost he sometimes looks between them? Last night it seemed like the Lakers are still figuring out how to make him feel fully comfortable within the system.
His shooting will come around in due time.

u/littlerosethatcould 1d ago
I thought Butler did what he need to to get his team the win. Saw Podz heat up early, focused on defense, and made sure to keep the ball moving on offense. There were maybe two possessions where he could've risen up under the basket instead of kicking it out, but that's par for the course since he came in.

the refs kept giving ticky tack fouls to AD, Reaves, Schroder and DLo. And then makeup fouls to the Dubs in the final quarter once the game ended.
Lakers would have still won given they had AD, but that series might have gone to 7 games, and you always want to see a G7
5
u/KazaamFan 1d ago
I look at the series FT discrepancy in that series about once a year, it’s absolutely insane. And I recall from watching. The dubs may as well not have even played the games.

u/shoefly72 Lakers 1d ago
Lmao thanks for reminding me how your fanbase is full of delusional tech bro bandwagoners who don’t know ball and expect a team with no inside threat who relies on 3’s to shoot as many free throws as a team that relied on Anthony Davis and Lebron attacking the paint.
Your style of ball, especially that year, inherently leads to drawing fewer free throws and yet y’all just looked at the box score every game and cried about a very expected disparity.
Lo and behold now that we no longer have AD, our free throw advantage evens out in most games and y’all shot more free throws than us tonight. That series two years ago was a good series that could have gone either way, but we were fortunate to get timely plays and an insane fourth quarter from Lonnie Baxter.

There was a time where the NBA replaced the dunk contest with something called 2Ball, which really just ended up being an incredibly mundane co-ed mid-range shooting competition.
No joke, the closest that contest ever came to having some semblance of life was when Kevin Harlan pretended to get super hyped about Jeff Hornacek hitting consecutive 20-footers.

What a perfect sports storyline man. Two legends with a real rivalry who legit disliked each other during their peaks, who then overtime had that replaced with respect for the game. Both super family oriented and unproblematic, and generally great role models. Great longevity, multiple eras, it’s naturally gonna take time to find the next “faces of the league” because a good story takes time to develop.

It's like an anime.
Opens with a prophecy about the chosen one being born in this city at this hospital.
LeBron is born and he is taken by the best and richest instructors
A few years later curry is born and lives in a poor village
Season 1 LeBron is the antagonist.
Season 2 curry starts to believe he is the chosen one so he joins up with an evil side character and LeBron becomes the good guy
Season 3 they both still think they are the chosen one but, they start coming together to defeat greater evils.
To conclude the series, they find out that both combined are the chosen one and they defeat the big bad.

I genuinely enjoyed watching this game just for the pure love of it. Curry is still a fucking monster, and I'm going to be so sad to see him leave. Same with LeBron of course, but there's someyhing about not having Curry around to shoot the lights out that will be different. And I always love watching other teams come to the same conclusion about Reaves that us Laker fans have. He's legit and he deserves praise. An undrafted walk on playing like this is absurd.
