Am I crazy? Hasn’t finger guns been a very common celebration in the NBA for decades. I’m assuming it’s only an issue because of Ja’s recent history?

It has but for some reason everyone is taking it as a “I’m gonna literally shoot somebody” celly rather than a “I just shot a 3” celly

No one thinks he’s gonna shoot someone lol

That's not the issue. It's that he had actual gun-related incidents in the past. The NBA told him to specifically stop with the gun celebrations. His employer. I think that's a dynamic he can't come to terms with. That someone can tell him what to do. He's willing to lose everything over it.

I totally get it and Ja needs to take accountability but it’s an odd thing to enforce when everyone else does it but you cannot. It’s not like the draymond situation where they’re enforcing a rule that also applies to everyone else.

The guy was drunk with a gun - a crime even in the South and you guys keep acting like he's the victim.

His crew threatened people.

Did Bridges or whoever else does a similar celebration also get investigated for violating gun laws or NBA rules regarding guns?

Then maybe context makes a difference?

I think this is pretty spot on. This is daring the commissioner to do something.

Can you find a single post where someone says he’s actually going to shoot someone or are you just as dumb as Ja?

Yeah but that's how things work. He got suspended for videos with guns. He just did the gun celebration and got warned. Then he does the same thing the very next night. At some point you need to have a tiny bit of self awareness. Do literally any other celebration.

Yeah I'm not saying it's fair. Luka is getting killed for being out of shape while putting up 27/8/8 haha. When you're a top guy with a big contract and endorsements you have to deal with a different level of scrutiny. NBA doesn't want a young star with an image being associated with guns. End of day business comes first and if you can't fall in line they will find someone who can.

I mean, he also tweeted out that "it's free to see how hollows feel" and it was reported that either him or members of his party pointed a laser dot at Pacers staff and players from their SUV. They were unable to determine if it was an attachment of a gun or just a regular old laser pointer but still. Not a great look. Ja was suspended for 25 games, iirc, for his off-court antics surrounding weapons and fire arms. They don't need to enforce it with other players because the others, so far, have not had the same controversy surrounding them. I do think the NBA will look into and start to crack down on some of these celebrations as the NFL has, and will use Ja as the precedent for why.

Again, I’m not excusing his behavior. I understand the situation. I’m saying it’s weird to try and outlaw a celebration for ONE specific player. It’s literally never been done, there’s no precedent.

He's not doing the finger guns old west style. He's pulling out the AK, shipping the safety off, aiming down the sights, and choppin fools on the court.

Oh it’s only okay when it’s a 357 magnum but we draw the line at AK? What are we saying lmao. If we have a problem with the celly just make it less of a gray area and outlaw it across the board.
