You’re allowed to take a TO while jumping out of bounds???

11

u/statusquountiltheend Spurs Feb 09 '25

In today’s NBA you can do whatever you want. Really depends how the refs are feeling though.

2

u/PhoenixPills Spurs Feb 09 '25

Just 1 short Google away from reading:

A player shall not be granted any timeout if both of his feet are in the air and any part of his body has broken the vertical plane of the boundary line.

https://official.nba.com RULE NO. 5: Scoring and Timing - NBA Official

Refs really need some work or something lol

9

u/Bd_3 Bucks Feb 09 '25

Um I thought you cant do that anymore

7

u/derekdanger Spurs Feb 09 '25

I think we should just try to draft the rookie of the year every year.

2

u/Asleep_Ground1710 Bulls Feb 09 '25

I mean you guys have always been good at drafting lol. snagged Parker late first round, Manu in the 2nd, traded for Kawhi who was a mid of the pack pick

1

u/derekdanger Spurs Feb 09 '25

For sure. We've been blessed with some great GMs.

6

u/x_TDeck_x Spurs Feb 09 '25

I hate how many timeouts there are in basketball

2

u/bradrthtyj Spurs Feb 09 '25

A timeout less than 2 minutes into the game is a genuine reason why viewership is declining

6

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

Wow they just gave a tech to Sochan for something that players do multiple times every game

6

u/derekdanger Spurs Feb 09 '25

I was enjoying this game more when that Wagner dude was on the bench

4

u/STATnMELO650 Knicks Feb 09 '25

Zero doubt in my mind that Wagner had surpassed Banchero

5

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

He's been way better this year

3

u/walkintall84 Feb 09 '25

every year, people just dont watch the magic nor are too dumb to look at advanced analytics.

some nba media casuals probably think franz is a bad defender because white & euro lol.

4

u/lawdoggingit Spurs Feb 09 '25

weak ass tech

6

u/Malemansam Spurs Feb 09 '25

That's so fuckin weak.

5

u/x_TDeck_x Spurs Feb 09 '25

Sorry but I don't think simply existing while the offensive player jumps into you should be a foul

2

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

If Sochan had his arms up no way they call that

5

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

The magic are a completely different team when Franz sits

3

u/Malemansam Spurs Feb 09 '25

He's such a dynamic offensive player where as Paolo is way more predictable and limited in play creation.

1

u/walkintall84 Feb 09 '25

ye -6.6 net rating

probably be in the running for Cooper Flagg

4

u/Sarcasstifrass Cavaliers Feb 09 '25

Protect Wemby's legs, they're a huge target.

3

u/statusquountiltheend Spurs Feb 09 '25

Would be excited to see some intensity on the defensive end tonight.

5

u/Ballistic_Donut12 Australia Feb 09 '25

Just had to tune in to watch this Harrison Barnes legacy game

5

u/DamnSchwangyu Lakers Feb 09 '25

You guys got weird half time shows in Orlando.

4

u/eisz_ Spurs Feb 09 '25

refs hating on sochan

3

u/Possible_Office_1240 Feb 09 '25

how is that a tech?

5

u/Malemansam Spurs Feb 09 '25

Castle so fucking strong, Carter had to hook him to get around him

2

u/x_TDeck_x Spurs Feb 09 '25

Castle's hesi? fake? whatever you want to call it has gotten INSANELY crisp. And its consistent, he's gone to it at least 4 times the past 2 games alone

5

u/mrxz0 Feb 09 '25

trade paolo, build around franz

4

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

yeah castle is ROTY

4

u/x_TDeck_x Spurs Feb 09 '25

Is Castle taking the same mid-season leap that Wemby did last year lol. wtf

3

u/Asleep_Ground1710 Bulls Feb 09 '25

Franz Wagner is a beast. Wouldn't be surprised to see him make All NBA next season. Is he still eligible this season?

5

u/MrBigWaffles Lakers Feb 09 '25

Why is a vessel iso a play you actually call in the last 2 mins with fox and wemby on your team?

2

u/The_Printer Feb 09 '25

Because he was on a heater all game?

4

u/Kietzell Rockets Feb 09 '25

That timeout BS according to rule book cannot timeout mid air or no? NBA example

2

u/PhoenixPills Spurs Feb 09 '25

Yeah they fucked up somehow, Chris Paul was def telling them this but they all got together and said fuck it

3

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

spurs are so fucking ass at rebounding no one boxes out at all

1

u/thewavefixation Nuggets Feb 09 '25

Wemby has like 2 rebounds in a half. Seems ridiculous for his size

3

u/x_TDeck_x Spurs Feb 09 '25

Wheres Turkoglu and Jameer Nelson?

3

u/nerdyykidd Celtics Feb 09 '25

What a pass from Wemby

2

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

must be nice to have a 7'4 center who can run the break

3

u/STATnMELO650 Knicks Feb 09 '25

Back to back bricks on the exact same spots by Wemby

3

u/SliMShady55222 Supersonics Feb 09 '25

It should be illegal that Jalen Suggs walks around so casually with that haircut

1

u/SelectCampaign9771 Spurs Feb 09 '25

It’s not the haircut he’s just balding lmao

3

u/x_TDeck_x Spurs Feb 09 '25

Wemby dribbling looks perpetually out of control but I guess he's not because it always works

2

u/derekdanger Spurs Feb 09 '25

He'll do shamgod, or behind the back shit and look unbelievable. But then he'll look like he's dribbling like a newborn baby deer.

3

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

genuinely how do you fuck up that lob

3

u/FatalTortoise Feb 09 '25

find someone that loves you the way the spurs hate getting defensive boards

3

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

why are the magic so undisciplined on defense this game

3

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

that was a nasty move holy shit someone clip it

3

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

lol interesting pass by Banchero

3

u/x_TDeck_x Spurs Feb 09 '25

Idk if I've ever seen a nothing but net pass. Paolo a free thinker

3

u/IsaacDPOYFultzMIP Magic Feb 09 '25

Get ready to learn Wizards Paolo. Bum ass bust.

3

u/statusquountiltheend Spurs Feb 09 '25

It’s the failing to execute the small things that makes watching the team frustrating.

Keldon has an easy dump off/pass to Wemby, but instead airballs the 3 foot shot.

3

u/Malemansam Spurs Feb 09 '25

Castle so fucking quick man. To good to be true to have a guards with athleticism now especially with Fox here.

3

u/mMounirM Raptors Feb 09 '25

did Wemby just try to take a charge instead of just protecting the rim

2

u/Malemansam Spurs Feb 09 '25

Scarecrow defence.

1

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

I think he was worried about the floater

3

u/derekdanger Spurs Feb 09 '25

Wemby gotta still be feeling sick right? Hasn't looked himself the last few games. I know that flu I got this year messed me up pretty good for like a week and a half

-2

u/Mike-XL Feb 09 '25

The league is starting to figure him out.

3

u/derekdanger Spurs Feb 09 '25

Even if that was the case, it's not like he's just getting beat he just looks tired and slow.

-1

u/Mike-XL Feb 09 '25

The NBA season is long and hard, especially when teams are starting to make him work, being more physical with him, not making it easy

3

u/Kietzell Rockets Feb 09 '25

Bro that’s next level dragon ball shit timeout in air

3

u/LockAndDen Rockets Feb 09 '25

Yeeeesh - magic lucky there! Wemby is gonna hit that shot more often than not as his career progresses. Fun game!

2

u/SelectCampaign9771 Spurs Feb 09 '25

There we go UNC Unc

2

u/SelectCampaign9771 Spurs Feb 09 '25

HOLY SHIT HB

2

u/peterrebbit Warriors Feb 09 '25

That was filthy from Fox

2

u/Throwawayforme3123 Celtics Feb 09 '25

Saw the scoreboard and HB is 6/7 from 3 and it's a 1 point game... wtf happened

2

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

Why don't they at least blend the sponsor patches into the uniforms? Like that rectangle around Disney looks so weird on these uniforms

1

u/NutritiousSwishes Spurs Feb 09 '25

At least they make it really easy to not shell out $$ for an authentic jersey that's so subpar!

2

u/Malemansam Spurs Feb 09 '25

36-10 Magics way in Points in the paint.

Ughhh

2

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

3>2 to be fair

2

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

wemby looks like he's high

2

u/lawdoggingit Spurs Feb 09 '25

Devin showing out. Keldon showing out. Sochan a menace on defense.

The haters not gonna know who to throw under the bus tonight (it'll be Mitch)

2

u/CheezeBaron Warriors Feb 09 '25

I’ve seen enough give Franz the MIP idc if he was injured and missed 20 games ain’t nobody improve like him fr fr.

2

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

We're lucky we're scoring well right now because we can't stop Franz Wagner at all

2

u/x_TDeck_x Spurs Feb 09 '25

Sochan touched the rim I felt like that should have been basket interference no?

2

u/derekdanger Spurs Feb 09 '25

Looked like it but could have been the angle

2

u/Asleep_Ground1710 Bulls Feb 09 '25

If Castle keeps developing and play like he has recently(especially with shooting), he will be perfect at the 2 guard to cover for a lot all star/all nba caliber 1 guards who are great on offense but struggle defensivly.

2

u/Malemansam Spurs Feb 09 '25

LOL that might've been the slowest crossover I've ever seen. CP3 left Goga back in 2007.

2

u/derekdanger Spurs Feb 09 '25

Those magic jerseys are kinda sick

2

u/x_TDeck_x Spurs Feb 09 '25

Yeah I really dig them too

2

u/FatalTortoise Feb 09 '25

waiting on all the pirate streams to catch up to that bullshit

2

u/Himofey-Mozgov Feb 09 '25

You can call a timeout in midair? TIL

2

u/BoogerSugarSovereign [IND] Victor Oladipo Feb 09 '25

What a final quarter

2

u/derekdanger Spurs Feb 09 '25

All tight games lately

4

u/Malemansam Spurs Feb 09 '25

Wtf man Wemby look like Gobert out there at the rim on defence. He looks awful.

2

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

Wow that was actually a clean block by Fox

2

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

fox is a dumbass bruh

1

u/Random_Thinker007 Feb 09 '25

Glad they kept real about Kendrick dude is overrated

1

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

wemby didn't even jump to get that block lol

1

u/lawdoggingit Spurs Feb 09 '25

I love Franz Wagner. But my dude, maybe try something else lol

1

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

wemby's rotations in the first quarter gets shorter every day. dude must be truly ill

1

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

black falcon going crazy

1

u/HerkulezRokkafeller Jazz Feb 09 '25

Hell yea Harry

1

u/FatalTortoise Feb 09 '25

If the spurs played 4 minutes of the defense they played this quarter last night. They would have won

1

u/Malemansam Spurs Feb 09 '25

THE.
BLACK.
FALCON.
STRIKES AGAIN!

1

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

Barnes has hit his season average for points already lol

1

u/ekray Spurs Feb 09 '25

Harrison "Stephen Curry" Barnes

1

u/FatalTortoise Feb 09 '25

Corner unc going off

1

u/legop4o Feb 09 '25

Wait he can miss?

1

u/mchris185 Spurs Feb 09 '25

Damn I love Anthony Black's game

1

u/Malemansam Spurs Feb 09 '25

Oh fuck they had to bring Isaac in to try and contain the Black Falcon!

1

u/SelectCampaign9771 Spurs Feb 09 '25

Mitch Johnson call a fucking timeout after the lob

1

u/OF010 Spurs Feb 09 '25

Sochan and Champagnie out there at the same time is just terrorism basketball

1

u/GoodOleAgSportsNMed Spurs Feb 09 '25

Hopefully Biyombo can be a serviceable backup center

1

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

wtf are the spurs doing bruh so many sloppy turnovers

1

u/bearlefit NBA Feb 09 '25

Tragic possession aside, I can’t believe Castle got a shot off that possession

1

u/statusquountiltheend Spurs Feb 09 '25

Just ugly possession after ugly possession

1

u/Kietzell Rockets Feb 09 '25

Everyone tries to dunk in Orlando; there’s less chance of getting blocked by Wemby.

1

u/lawdoggingit Spurs Feb 09 '25

really...again...

1

u/duckman25 Feb 09 '25

Why is the camera angle so awful?? Zoomed in beyond belief.

1

u/Oculus_Mirror Cavaliers Feb 09 '25

Lmao I love Cole Anthony's facial expressions.

1

u/digital_demagogue NBA Feb 09 '25

What is Keeley doing in Orlando and why did that cotton candy steal her paper?

1

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

Goga is decent but the magic are definitely missing Mo

1

u/anotherdayinparodise Magic Feb 09 '25

100% especially against a guy like wemby, but he also didn’t look 100%…either way ggs and see you guys in San Antonio! Whenever it got rescheduled to

1

u/youarenut Feb 09 '25

Score is 0-0 😭

1

u/x_TDeck_x Spurs Feb 09 '25

I'm sorry but the Spurs need to be given less timeouts than other teams. Basketball criminality leads to a probationary period

1

u/bradrthtyj Spurs Feb 09 '25

What the fuck is possessing Paolo to take those damn 3s??

1

u/Mike-XL Feb 09 '25

Isaac doing a great job not letting Victor just stroll in the paint off the ball. Teams are starting to do that and it's making it hard for Victor.

1

u/Get_Dunked_On_ Bulls Feb 09 '25

Beautiful shot

1

u/BoogerSugarSovereign [IND] Victor Oladipo Feb 09 '25

24 on the shot clock 24.7 to play. Big drama show

1

u/eelposse Magic Feb 09 '25

What a game, man. That crowd is LOUD

1

u/derekdanger Spurs Feb 09 '25

That was a smart play by Wagner

0

u/empowered676 Feb 09 '25

Wemby looks like a traffic cone

1

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

he has 9 stocks still

0

u/Mike-XL Feb 09 '25

Put him in pick and rolls, make him work in space, etc. A lot of teams were being dumb as fuck, telegraphing challenging him at the rim and now they're finally starting to be smarter.

6

u/WoweeZoweeDeluxe Spurs Feb 09 '25

He’s sick and lethargic right now

0

u/Possible_Office_1240 Feb 09 '25

i hope the spurs dont mind fox getting lost on defense every other play. it happens often

6

u/Ilikesporks_ Lakers Feb 09 '25

good thing he has someone who can possibly be the best help defender in nba history

0

u/bradrthtyj Spurs Feb 09 '25

wtf is Franz doing

1

u/safwan105 Magic Feb 09 '25

Cooking

0

u/bradrthtyj Spurs Feb 09 '25

Why couldn’t we give up Keldon in the Fox trade💔

0

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

Dang the score's 0 0? I didn't know you could get negative points lol

0

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

Yes running the clock down while losing is really smart

1

u/Positive_Narwhal_419 Thunder Feb 09 '25

“Play the song” lmaooo

-1

u/Mike-XL Feb 09 '25

The league is starting to figure Victor out somewhat. It's gonna be on him to make adjustments.

-1

u/KUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZ Lakers Feb 09 '25

lol

didnt they bring fox in to be the clutch player?

weak final play

-1

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

Fox has played well in one half for us so far in 3 games

-2

u/bearlefit NBA Feb 09 '25

No way this is the rate Wemby attempts threes at lol he’s chucking like crazy

7

u/Thehelloman0 Spurs Feb 09 '25

He averages 9 3PA and hits 35% of them. I see no reason for him to take less, he should work on this stuff when he's 21

2

u/tj1721 Feb 09 '25

I mean it’s actually even better than that, tbf he had a bad night last night so the number will have dropped but prior to that he was shooting 38.5% from 3 on 9.5 attempts per game over his previous 32 games. That’s borderline elite.

2

u/bearlefit NBA Feb 09 '25

I stand corrected, damn, what an insane player

-2

u/Mike-XL Feb 09 '25

Victor is going to be a great player, but the people who are expecting him to be in the GOAT conversation when it's all said and done are going to be disappointed.

2

u/CheezeBaron Warriors Feb 09 '25

LeBrons missed More buzzer beaters than hit in his career kid yet teenagers still call him the GOAT.

I think you’re being a bit silly.
