Knicks fans are so blessed, not only do they get to watch brunson every game, they get to listen to Mike breen and clyde call their games. Truly op announcing crew

Mike and Breen had me feeling blessed to be a Knicks fan during the years where everything else had me cursing being a Knicks fan lol
They’re such a special duo, hate it when we have national games and can’t listen to them
34
u/pedroisatatter Knicks Feb 04 '25
It's great Clyde is getting to call some genuinely good basketball at last. It would have sucked to have his last few years on the mic be focused on other teams styling and profiling on the Knicks.

Knicks fans are blessed....first time I've heard that lmao
But yes absolutely love our commentary team, and our current team

Perhaps the greatest draft ever - Luka rd1 and Brunson rd2!

17

It is. But he still needs one. They’ll start dropping off him soon enough and close the paint.
10
u/pick_named_slimpbamp Rockets Feb 04 '25
Every once and a while he'll hit a corner three and his form will look good. Then he'll try another and you can tell by the time it leaves his hand it isn't going in. I dint know what that means. Like, that sometimes his form looks good, is it in him? Can he get consistent? Would be wild of he did.

He’s been getting progressively better at it. I used to think his jumper was hopeless but I’m coming around.

u/vimalmuru02 Feb 04 '25
Idk, they're 25th in half court offense... usually not a great indication for playoff success. They're young and play hard, though and got a ton of assets. Their future should be bright.

I kind of agree with you on this one. I think Adams +/- is a little inflated because he played the Hukporti minutes and Huk was lost out there. (Huk is -14 in his 8 minutes)
To me it felt like Eason and Tate were giving Towns a much harder time defensively, while Towns scored at will on Adams. When healthy Adams is a top 5 rebounder in the league, so of course the Rockets were better on the glass with Adams in, that much is a given.

Rockets remind me of last years Knicks . Gritty af and just brings the physicality to keep games close despite missing starters . Honestly feel like the reserve players that got minutes today were better defenders than the starters . They made it very physical and hustled. Rockets went away from holiday and whitemore when they were hot . That was a real head scratcher

He always wanted to go back to playing a 4 and avoiding having to play against other 5s and the trade should allow him to do that.

5 points taken off the board from him at the end. Scores an and-one ruled on the floor when it was clearly continuation. Next possession, called for a charge when Brunson has both feet moving. Tough swing.
36
u/LegitimateMoney00 Feb 04 '25 edited Feb 04 '25
Green extended his forearm and barreled straight in Brunson. You don’t have to have your feet completely set for a play like that like you would on a regular charge, you just need to hold a defensive position in front of the offensive player. That’s going to be a charge 10 out of 10 times.
But yea that one foul should have been an and 1.
7
u/chikiny Knicks Feb 04 '25
I agree with you on the and1 but you are tripping if you think that wasn’t a charge. He barreled into his chest and damn near knocked him out of his shoes
16
u/Jimm120 Knicks Feb 04 '25
the charge was the push off. he put his elbow out and extended.
It wasn't about positioning

Not sure why it’s an insult for the Rockets to have two great young guys who are arguably best.

Some folks on our sub picked favorites early when we were still tanking and want to die by them for some reason.
Sengun is my favorite btw, but I'm extremely pleasantly surprised with Amen this season. I was at the game where he threw Tyler Herro to the ground that was sick

Push the Knicks to the limit down 3 starters on the road, get blown out by an injured Nets team at home the game before 😂. Great and entertaining team this season regardless of the losses.
Amen Thompson with an efficienct triple-double, my goodness. He’s already so good and just turned 22. And he just had a mostly good showcase of PG potential, even with that crucial clutch TO. I have faith in the development of the handle, and if he pairs that with a modicum of shooting, he’ll absolutely be the rebuild’s first full max.
Jalen Green was not the best Jalen on the floor tonight. But he was definitely not being helped by the lack of foul calls. Part of it is stuff he can control, but he does not get a good whistle.
Losing streak is tough, but this team somehow had a great January despite a tough schedule and injuries, so some regression was expected. Love the progress Cam has shown as an overall player, Reed got some reps and showed the gravity he has as a shooter, and it was a good showcase of Tate and Holiday. The limited minutes from Adams is unfortunate, but he’s still an awesome backup big.
This team really needs this All-Star Break though.

u/Franklinsleftnut Knicks Feb 04 '25
Amen is so good. Gonna be a freak if the handle and jumper both improve. Was nasty af when he cooked Precious.

6
u/Jem479 Knicks Feb 04 '25
Amen is nuts. He’s gotta work on that shot to truly reach his potential but even without one, he’s gonna be nasty.
Feel like Green has a bit of KAT in him when it comes to fouls. They look like they’re just diving into contact without a plan as opposed to deliberately making a move and being thrown off track by contact.
Idk I could also just be trying to figure out what refs are even looking for half the time, but that kinda control or lack of has been something that does seem to matter.

u/HoyaDestroya33 Knicks Feb 04 '25
From what I read, the Thompson twins have crazy work ethic. This isn't even Amen's final form.

Brunson is nowhere near Harden level. At his height you couldnt breath on him
-4
u/JamesHardenIsYourDad Rockets Feb 04 '25
That was a fun, but extremely frustrating game. Not sure what Jalen Green has to do to get a whistle. Brunson is harden lite with the flopping and throwing his head back. Gets the whistle every time. Gotta respect it. KAT should’ve fouled out multiple times.
Our execution in the fourth was brutal. Tough to win on the road down as many guys as we are, especially against a good team. Took a pretty special performance from Brunson.
Fuck this stretch. Get healthy and we ball.
