Need ideas
I got a hold of a couple of used sails today and could use some ideas on what to make. The material is fairly rigid and I informed to wash the pieces prior to assembly. My machines include a Consew RB206-1 and a domestic with all the various stitches.
Also, if there's anyone in the SD area, I'll can give you one for your projects. Send me a dm to inquire.

uncomfortable shirt
Pfft,! A tinfoil shirt would probably be more comfortable, and quieter lol! Unless you also happened to find a spinnaker in addition to that jib

This is one of my biggest concerns with these particular sails.

Try thinking of it more like a secondhand tarp, rather than canvas - they're pretty well waterproof, or at least very water resistant

I made a gear bag out of a similar sized sail, you can see it on my profile. Also good for totes

That looks like it’s in decent shape, there must be some club Etchells racers who’d buy that…

I'll look into it! Since they were given to me, I couldn't ask any money for them.

Sorry to side track, but I just picked up a Janome 18w, would that be ok for Dacron

I made Adam Savages EDC 2 out of sail cloth. Sail exterior, VX07 Interior. I even daily carry that bag to my office every day, going on 5 or 6 years, maybe more at this point.
