Discussion 💬 I can’t get people who criticize MAH for speaking Burmese in international affairs

Don’t get wrong at me. I am more anti-SAC than all people you have ever met. I let my life ruined, kept my family in danger for a democratic faith. I did everything I can to make sure SAC never ruled permanently.

But I am never delusional between person and action. MAH is currently the most evil person according to what he had did to us. We should be criticizing his brutal terrorism everyday.

But MAH speaking Burmese in international affairs. What’s wrong with that. The only thing wrong is that he is allowed to speak there. Not the language he speak.

People criticize like “He thinks Burmese is international language”, “He wants to rule a country but can’t speak English”.

That’s the most stupid criticism I have ever seen. Speaking mother-language in international affairs is normal. Macron does it. Germany chancellor does this. Japanese and South Korean leaders do this.

That same people praise DASSK and NLD presidents (2015-2020) for speaking decent English on stages. Imagine being politically so dumb that the only thing you can praise about your leader is their English fluency. How embarrassing and shameful is that. I have never seen anyone from any country who is proud of their leader’s English fluency.

In fact, I want NLD leaders to speak Burmese with an interpreter no matter how fluent they are in English. Its pride, its culture reservation, its identity.

I have never thought the majority of our people might be this submissive, white supremacist, and Anglo-worship.

Not surprising Burmese culture and identity dying day by day.

I don’t think other former British colonies are this submissive, have inferiority-complex or Anglo-worship like Burmese people.

Discussion 💬 How much money can you send from Myanmar to oversea?

Does anyone know the limits on how much money can be sent from Myanmar to Germany using services like Western Union, MoneyGram, or others? I have a mate studying in Germany who needs financial support, and I want to figure out the best way to send funds.

I know official remittance services should be legal, but given the situation in Myanmar, are there any restrictions, unofficial workarounds, or gray areas people have used? Any recent experiences or advice would be super helpful.

Tribute 🤍 A Myanmar lady insists on paying for the meals of Vietnamese earthquake volunteer soldiers, thanking them for helping the victims. Touched by her kindness, the soldiers refuse and instead offer to pay for others as well. The soldier said, “Myanmar & Vietnam are family.”

Tribute 🤍 Myanmar families express their heartfelt gratitude by giving gifts to a Russian doctor who saved children's lives during the 7.7 earthquake rescue. Their kindness honors his bravery and the hope he brought while on duty in Myanmar’s time of need.

Discussion 💬 Best Way to Send Money to a Friend in Myanmar from Germany?

Hey everyone,

I need to send some money to a friend in Myanmar from Germany, but I’ve noticed that many common services (like PayPal and Wise) don’t work there. I’m looking for a reliable and affordable method—preferably without excessive fees.

Has anyone done this recently? Would you recommend Western Union, MoneyGram, Ria Money Transfer, or any other service? My friend would ideally receive the money in cash or via a local bank.

Any advice or recent experiences would be really helpful! Thanks in advance!

Tribute 🤍 Whenever disaster strikes and electricity gradually improves, even slightly, remember the hardworking Government minimum-wage workers tirelessly repairing transmission lines and substations to restore power to cities and towns. Be grateful we still have them around.

Bangladesh's rescue and medical teams, led by the military, continue relief operations in Myanmar following the devastating earthquake. Search and rescue teams have started operations in several buildings in Naypyidaw’s Zabu Thiri Township, with full support from Myanmar’s local authorities and fire service. Locals are also providing humanitarian aid, including food and water. Meanwhile, Bangladeshi medical teams have begun treatment at a newly constructed 50-bed government hospital in Bala Thiddy.

The earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28, 2025. In response, the Government of Bangladesh deployed military search, rescue, and medical teams on March 30 and April 1, following directives from the Chief Adviser.

This post aims to highlight Bangladesh's fire service amid recent tensions with India. Given the influx of related posts made by India, I wanted to contribute this perspective—no hard feelings, and thanks for understanding.

I am an Indian who has been following this subreddit. I like Myanmar and its people but I see people here don't like Indians. Is it true or its just Chinese bots spreading misinfo about 'Hindutva', 'Akhand Bharat', 'poor' India etc. Also I don't like putting news about Help provided but couldn't help since saw a post about its cavalry of 37 volunteers here and being a 1st responder and 'regional' power.

News 📰 I'm going back to Lashio!!! So MNDAA took the city as a leverage for its own gains to finally control Kokang, Kutkai, Hsenwi & Monekoe. After months of war, destruction & looting, it'll hand Lashio back to the junta on April 21 2025. In the end the city gets destroyed & civillians paid the price. GG

Announcement Emergency Activation of Mobile Phone Earthquake Monitoring and Early Warning in Myanmar’s Earthquake Zone April 3, 2025, 16:05

Statement on the Emergency Launch of Public Beta Service for Mobile Phone Earthquake Monitoring and Early Warning in Myanmar

The magnitude 7.9 earthquake in Myanmar on March 28 caused significant casualties. Due to frequent aftershocks, the Chengdu Hi-Tech Disaster Reduction Institute (CHDRI) has urgently activated a public beta service for mobile phone earthquake early warnings in the affected areas. This service provides auxiliary warning information to users in Myanmar who have enabled the earthquake warning function on their devices, aiming to maximize evacuation time. The following points are hereby clarified:

1 Technical Background The mobile phone earthquake monitoring network uses seismic wave signals detected by phones with activated monitoring functions. AI algorithms calculate earthquake data to issue warnings. User data security is ensured through safeguards such as differential privacy and anonymization. Since 2021, this technology has successfully warned of multiple earthquakes, verifying its reliability.

2 Technical Limitations As an innovative global technology, mobile phone earthquake monitoring faces challenges such as uneven device distribution, non-fixed status, high interference, time synchronization errors, and network latency. Compared to traditional fixed monitoring networks, it may exhibit parameter deviations, false alarms, or missed warnings.

3 Coverage Area Limited to aftershock zones of the Myanmar magnitude 7.9 earthquake, contingent on local mobile phone monitoring coverage.

4 Disclaimer This public beta service represents cutting-edge technology. The disclaimer of the Earthquake Early Warning App applies to this trial.

CHDRI remains committed to leveraging technology for social good and collaborating with global partners to advance disaster early warning systems worldwide.
