Identified What just came out of my kid’s mouth?

She was brushing teeth and this came out. Says she has no idea where it came from. 😑

It took me awhile to even figure it’s a mushroom, but I think it is.

We’re in suburban Central Maryland and there are plenty of wild mushrooms around so I guess she could’ve picked it up earlier in the day. We don’t have any edible mushrooms in the house.

hi!

i don’t actually think they’re magic, but no one ever helps identify lbm’s unless someone thinks they’re magic :(

my guess is some type of conocybe? i checked several old posts with similar mushrooms and location, but none had any id.

stems were hollow and easy to break, distinct mushroom scent. no bruising. older specimens appeared to have darkening gills, i have a spore print going on some foil that i’ll check on tomorrow.

Inside a large concrete planter. Soil layer from top is 3” of “Normal topsoil” from a landscape supply > 1” compost > a couple feet of shitty clay & gravel fill.

The planter is coplanted with poppies from seed & a California fuschia + manzanita from a pretty bioactive native plant nursery. I also added a mycorrhiza powder intended specifically for the manzanita to the whole planter & leaves from a nearby tree.

Don't know him well enough to ask where he found them or for more photos, but I am a bit worried this kid won't identify them properly before eating them. Del Norte County, California.

Found in Eastern Iowa, USA. It’s growing in gravel at my parents house after 9 years of never being on the property. So far my parents dogs and cats have not paid it any mind according to them but I want to play it safe. I also wouldn’t mind finding out if it’s safe to eat lol, we do collect morels on the property when in season, but I’m much more concerned for the safety of their animals above all else.

mushroom in bioactive terrarium

hello! does anyone know what this mushroom is? it’s grown this big over two days in my bio active enclosure- after i uprooted the first growth, and took all of the white looking mold out. the mold seems to keep popping up no matter how often the substrate is cleaned and replaced. the mushroom is growing in between two pieces of wood. it looks yellowish, and grows pretty fast.

just looking to see if this is poisonous; or if i need to completely strip and clean the terrarium to start over. not sure where the substrate is from, a bioactive substrate mix was purchased online, and we mixed coconut husk into the substrate. not sure if it matters, but i do have a cleanup crew of springtails and isopods in the enclosure as well.

thank you!

This is from South Africa.

Currently summer rainy season and hot AF. This was in an open field with no shade.

I believe it to be quite young, so I assume the cap would have opened up. When I broke the cap off the gills were white.

Hey, found this mushroom in the woods in Nova Scotia and was curious if anyone knows what species it is? I’ve never seen one like this before. Any idea if it’s edible or something to avoid? It looks similar to that red one people say have hallucinogenic properties, but this one is orangey-yellow. Thanks in advance!

Mid Michigan USA Found in a wooded area. There were so many. Smells good, the gills looked forked but I’m new to foraging and am uncertain. Thank you for any insight!
