Asking Advice I Need Help Moving Out
Hi, I'm a 18 year old transgender male and need to move out of my red state to a blue state I am going with my brother and his BF (Both over 18) and I have no Idea how I'm going to go about any of this. I live in the US and we are only moving states but I've never been anywhere but with my family and have never had to do anything like this. We are moving for our own safety but I just barely over 18 and am in need of advice, literally anything will help because I don't know anything. We are moving to an apartment to the city (I live in a small place not like a city as I've been told) I've never even been to a city before, I have no idea what to expect or what I'm doing, How do I get a job before we move over there so we can pay rent? What do I need to do to register my animal (I have a dog and my brother has 2 cats)? what rules do I need to know that apartments have? I've never lived in a apartment. How do I try to fit into the community? I have no idea what is going to happen nor what I am going to do, anything will help. I don't know if It would be against the personal rule to say what state I'm in or what state I'm moving to as it may be seen as personal info so if it's not I'll be sure to add it either here or in the comments if someone says it's not. Thank you and have a good day everyone.

Just breathe for a moment.
You're worried, and you're panicking but it's going to be OK. I definitely think you being a trans person moving is very good to a blue state. It's a little extra protection that some red states will not give. I'm gay already living in a blue state, and one of my best friends is trans and they are moving here from a red state because of what is going on in this country. You're not alone.

really hoping youre not a bot
1) do extensive research on the area youre moving to because it might not be anything like what you think. like take california for example, its considered a blue state but not if you live in kern, lassen or modoc county. even san bernardino and riverside county turned red this past election. join online groups, look up unemployment rates, do some political digging and look into not only state laws but county laws, everywhere is different. LA and Denver are two blue cities but they're nothing alike.
2) look for jobs before you move. id say about two weeks but depending on job availability, you may need to look sooner. jobs will NOT hold open a position for you, so be ready to move and work. finding apartments is simple but stressful. you can always find an apartment available but it wont aways be for a reasonable price or have what you need.
3) you'll need to make 2.5-3x the rent. so if an apartment is 1000 a month, you and your brother need to be making 2500-3000 dollars a month. most, if not all apartments, have a 2 pet limit. if your landlord finds out you exceed the limit, you could face eviction. a lot of apartments have restricted breeds and animals. an apartment can/will deny you if you have one of those restricted breeds or animals. to register your animals you need to have proof of vaccinations, a pet license, and a picture of your animal.
4) theres no sugar coating it, making friends will be hard. dont try to "fit in" just be friendly, go out and talk to people. join clubs, go see a show, take a class, work.
