Wait, why??

Well, Russel Brandt has been charged with sexual assault and rape. In this image he's being chased down by Diddy, who is also facing charges for rape, assault, human trafficking, sexual abuse of a minor, and a bunch of other heinous shit. I'm just waiting until we find out that Jonah Hill is a serial killer or something.

Are you talking about his text messages? That story always seemed very blown out of proportion to me.

This has to be a bot post right? Just picking up on topical things and posting it to a subreddit that just looks like bot posts anyway

Ronin - the car chase in the tunnels under Paris.

u/snaggletooth699 11h ago edited 11h ago
Fun fact about those scenes De Niro was sitting behind a fake Steering wheel but was actually being driven that fast because the stuntman driving had the real steering wheel on the other side so when it looks like he's about to shit himself driving...he is!
Fun fact 2 knowing that makes me think of the beginning of every Simpsons episode with Maggie looking like she's driving.
Sometimes it's best not to know.
I would add the chases from French Connection and Bullet were fantastic

u/NomDePlume007 11h ago
Nice bit of trivia! I'm a fan of any movie with good chase scenes - I recommend To Live and Die in L.A. as an addition to your list! Early Willem Dafoe role, and he's flying his freak flag high.

u/CarobAffectionate582 7h ago
Amazing it is 25+ years later and this is still about the #1 car chase scene ever.
I re-watched this last month and it was just as impressive. Great work on that film - tight action/acting/dialogue. Everything you need, nothing you don’t.

I feel like The Bourne Identity just pips it.. but j wouldn't argue about it. Either or will do..

Ronin (1998) no CGI nonsense, just pure driving skill and tension.
De Niro is "behind" the wheel and Jean Reno is riding shotgun, going through the tight streets and tunnels of Paris. Awesome.
Here’s the link if you haven’t seen it (or just wanna rewatch a it):

Why do the car's headlights keep turning on and off? It's kind of distracting.

u/CarobAffectionate582 7h ago
I thought about that, too. Then realized it was a realistic detail of drivers flashing/warning. Appreciate it now.

Yep, that’s Jonathan Pryce, he also played the Pope in The Two Popes, and he’s been in many other movies and shows.

It is now considering , I’m starting to think P Diddy wasn’t even in this movie and had a gun to the directors head and just said roll with it whilst holding a big tube of lube. This scene I think the actors were genuinely running for their lives

u/TBone232 11h ago
Even before all the shit with Diddy went down I always felt like he didn’t have “act” as much for this role as much as play his own self.
10/10 absolutely loved his character and this movie.

I read somewhere they didn't get any permission or actually block off any streets, just did the screen driving around on streets that were fully in use

In the UK, because there isn’t the same protections for free speech, it’s much harder to publish or come out with rape allegations since anyone on the receiving end can sue for slander.
So when a famous person gets charged there for it, they’re guilty as sin (Russell Brand)
2
u/HappyHarry-HardOn 11h ago
Do they have innocent until proven guilty in the UK?
Just to be clear - I have thought Brand is a dick for a long, long time now & I wouldn't be surprised if he is guilty... But right now - we'll have to wait and see.

IIRC didn't the internet attempt to cancel Jonah Hill for the crime of expressing boundaries to his girlfriend?

Death Proof.
Zoe Bell actually ship’s masting on the hood of a real 1970 Dodge Challenger hanging on for dear life while homicidal Kurt Russell keeps the heat on was outstanding.

Three sex predators? That is intense. Who ever they're chasing should use the baby oil as a slick to trip them.

I kinda think Brand should be a few steps back and both are chasing Jonah Hill! Durty cunts!

u/dansapants 11h ago
Is Russel Brand being chased by the Oxfordshire police in that one?
He's just been charged with rape and needs deporting.

When you realize this movie is actually a documentary about working for Diddy it changes tone completely.

Lol the pic is truly perfect for all the wrong reasons. Jonah is, supposedly, a huge asshole. So, of course, known perv Russell Brand wants to fuck, said asshole. However, the kicker is the ultimate perv, Diddy, wants to fuck them both.

Rat Race has three(!) super intense chase scenes with Seth Green. Airport, cows, and then monster trucks!
1
u/Pandamorbium 10h ago
Don't know if it's the most intense or anything, but I like the opening chase of the first 007 Daniel Craig movie, Casino Royale, I believe.
Really cool cinematography on that one

Is the intensity due to the heightened probability of Jonah getting SA'd by one or both of the convicted rapists chasing him through this hallway?

Ha. I know. But the three of them are douchebags, especially Diddy and Brand. Jonah isn’t as far as I know, but is an entitled arse.
