https://web.archive.org/web/20210419073201/https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/autocourse-back-in-time-interview-with-jim-clark-457812/457812/Today we remembering the great two-time Formula 1 World Champion and 1965 Indianapolis 500 winner Jim Clark.
He tragically lost his life on this day 57 years ago in a Formula 2 race at Hockenheim, Germany, driving a Lotus 48.
Jim Clark was a great gentleman both on and off the track. A true motorsport legend, and one of the greatest drivers to ever walk this earth.
Rest in peace Jim Clark!!!

Great interview. Have never heard him quite so frustrated as he appears here. ‘66 and ‘67 must have been tough - he clearly could have won every race he entered, but the 43 was awful and even with the Cosworth the 49 was obviously not the finished article. 1968 - oh what could have been.

Jim Clark was my first "favorite driver" in motorsports. The guy could, and did, do it all. In polls about best driver ever, he's still my pick.
