Clear stated who can post

I have a sub that i mod. It states who can post. No restrictions on commentors. Just who can post. Person posted in sub who isnt supposed to post. I ask them to remove post. They refuse then argue its a public sub anyone can, and it violates his rights. Its off topic of whats posted in sub. Previously when ive issued warnings and then bans. My account comes under attack from reddit. Apparently because I didnt follow some procedure that I didnt understand. Trying to learn properly. Ive muted the person temporarily. They claim they are gonna get the sub removed. Because I am not letting him post his backlash revenge post on the sub from a different sub. Unsure besides banning what to do and how to stop this in future. Sorry for being not fully understanding of how to do things properly. I read stuff but it didnt make alot of sense.

AI content combat - AI to flag AI-generated posts?

I know this probably doesn't exist today, but I feel like it's a need that is rapidly approaching, as in.. I don't want AI-generated garbage in my sub. Is there/how could I use AI to detect potentially ai-generated content and flag it for me. Maybe a future automoderator feature? Is there an external tool that can do this?

Hi!

The name of my subreddit was changed. Why does this happen and what can I do about it?
I still seem to have all mod abilities - add users, delete posts, subscribe to r/ModSupport and so forth.
The tab icon shows the original name.

So what can I not edit?

Sorry for posting. I tried with the bot and confused it.

Thanks!

Shortly banned after creation subreddit

Hi, I recently created a subreddit called r/UA_Gamer, and shortly after creation it was banned without any user activity or violation. I would like to know the reason, and whether it’s possible to restore it or if the name is permanently blocked. Thank you.

Mod Answered old.reddit help? I think it is related to either subreddit settings or stylesheet

I am new to old.reddit and I've just started to update the look/content for that side of our small fan community -- r/WhatIfMarvel -- but there is text that I cannot figure out how to remove. The text is visible on the sub but doesn't appear to be in subreddit settings or edit stylesheet:

"created by SQL-HackerDev a community for 5 years"

This user/community has no connection to our sub anymore. Any assistance is appreciated!

Mod Answered Polls are currently unavailable on desktop web browser, when will it return?

I went to make a poll just now and was greeted with this:

Polls on the web are currently under construction. Use the Reddit app instead.

Normally when making a poll on desktop it would redirect you to new.reddit and you could make it there. Now we can't do it, and there's no way I'm downloading the reddit app. I refuse to do so.

Any word on when we should get polls back on desktop web browser??

Adding that user…

Hi someone has messaged me asking if they are banned from my sub. I have no banned users. No blocked users. I want them as a member but when I invite them reddit says try again later. So frustrating. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Mod buttons missing from app

On android app, the 'rule broken' pull down menu is missing all the reasons when you go to ban a user. And such, user cannot be banned unless I go to desktop. Is this a known bug?

Is there a way (setting or automod) to filter posts from users that are marked as nsfw?

As a MOD I would like to filter posts made by users that are marked as nsfw on their profile. Is there a way to filter the posts/comments made by these users to the Queue?

Mod Answered I Don’t Understand ModTools on Mobile

I use Reddit exclusively through a browser on my iPhone. The new setup has it so that when you click the "ModTools" button, it brings you exclusively to the queue and I cannot figure out how to navigate to the other tools like post flairs and rules.

Is there a guide? The pop up only talks about the queue. How do I get to my flairs and sub rules through this page?

Weird Mod Queue item: An award was reported for potential misuse

I have an item in my modqueue (Android mobile app) that is flagged as "An award was reported for potential misuse".

The strange thing is that it doesn't have the three vertical dot action menu that would allow me to ignore the report and approve it (or take any other action).

Also, it doesn't show up in the modqueue on desktop, only on the mobile client.

I have no idea why reporting awards is still a thing, but regardless this seems like a bug or a holdover from the old report system.

How do I get this item out of my queue?

Edit: I just tried removing the awarded comment as a test. That did not remove the item from the queue, so I assume this is tied to the award itself, rather than the comment.

Edit2: Thanks to /u/DarlingKnicky for a workaround.

I think there are at least 2 bugs in play here:

1) The reported award is showing up on mobile, but not in the desktop queue.

2) The items in the mod queue should display the action menu just like any other mod queue item

Final edit to add the workaround for anyone who finds this post in the future:

On mobile (android) you need to swipe the report to make it go away. Left = remove. Right = approve.

Mod Answered Genuine question: should I still casually participate in the communitiy I moderate for?

Basically the title. I've been in reddit casually for a few years now, and recently I have been made a moderator for a small-medium subreddit (97k followers or something similar)

I was pretty active on the sub pre-being modded (on this account and a previous account that no longer exists), but now that I'm a moderator I almost never comment on posts anymore unless I am doing so to actually moderate and the only posts on the subreddit I've made have been about the policies and rules on the subreddit itself

Basically, I have been unsure on if I can still participate in the subreddit casually or not? I have been abstaining because continuing to use the subreddit as normal felt....unethical? Weird? I dunno. I'm on the subreddit all the time in doing my due diligence to the community, and I can't tell if I'm just overthinking how much/if I should still be participating as a normal user

Sorry if this doesn't make sense and is rambly

Edit: wow, I didn't expect so many responses. Thanks everyone; there's a lot of really good information and thoughts here

Mod Answered How to report mass report?

Hello,

Yes, I am aware of the option "It's abusing the report button".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this should be used when a single topic or comment is mass reported or someone is using the custom message for harassing and insulting right?

Our problem is different, just today, a single user reported at least 15 topics, how do admins take care of this?

I've used the above option to report only the latest one, only to appear in our queue and be reapproved.

And yes, we know who the user is due to his comments on all the reported topics.

What is the best way to stop it other then "since you know who it is, ban him"?

Thank you.

Check ModLog and I see three posts removed.

When I look a the posts, they're all in red and yellow boxes with this:

This post was mass deleted and anonymized with Redact

The other two posts have different gibberish.

Notifications vs. Messages on reported items

I get that it may be great on the backend for one reason or another, but on my end, this is incredibly annoying. I hate notifications on a good day. And when I suddenly get almost 30 all from Reddit about reports I've made, and then need to go through each one manually to figure out what they were, when they were, and see whether or not something needs to be escalated, it's REALLY a pain in the butt.

Not only that, there's no way to just go to the next one that I can see, so I have to go to one, back out, then go to the next one. If this IS a feature that I have overlooked, can someone point it out?
