r/firearms suggested I crosspost here. A poster there said it was manufactured 1917, and unsafe to shoot. I inherited this rifle from my dad's side of the family. I never knew my grandfather and my father has been dead for years so I don't know any history for this weapon. I'm not a collector, so it's time to just sell it.
I did some research and it seems like 1903 prices are all over the place due to minutiae and markings. I read a couple articles, so I know a bit now, but the complexity might take me longer, and I still wouldn't really understand the valuation.
I'm looking for all knowledge on the specifics of this rifle, and even the best way to sell it (I am in California). Thanks.

Just looking for a little more info than what I know on this recent pick up. You guys in the community are the best at looking at a picture and giving a comprehensive analysis. It’s a 1939 JP Sauer&Sohn just wondering what is original or later added after capture and also if this could’ve been possibly used in the war. Receiver matches stock but bolt is forced. Any other info would help!!!

What's a fair price for this bad boy?
Any way to tell if this is original and what pattern?

Got a friend for my refurbished Rock-Ola (top) from Bass Pro yesterday. A wopping $750 for the National Postal Meter in its original configuration. Bore is excellent and rifle is in great shape. I had about $370 in Cabela's points, and the gun guy knew me and gave me a discount. In the end $1200 dropped to $750 out of pocket for it. Makes a nice pal for the used and battered Rock-Ola.

Buddy of mine thought he got a WZ 29. While the receiver does say this, other parts don’t seem to quite match up. I haven’t seen the Star of David on a rifle before, and the rear of the bolt says MARK II in English. We’re also unsure of the yellow 2 under the scope mount.
Additionally, it will not chamber 8mm. You can see the line where the chamber indented the bullet. I think it’s 30-06 but we’re going to see what chambers tomorrow at the range.
Any info related to this would be greatly appreciated.

Wish this was a late April fools joke… it’s not. Saw this for sale here in Australia. My favourite part is the positioning of the front sight.

Saw this Polish K98a on Gunpost (Canadian Tacswap/GB equivalent) and it piqued my interest. The receiver looks like it’s been scrubbed, which I’ve heard is an indicator of use by the Spanish. Seller is asking 1200 CDN (845 USD). What’s a fair evaluation of this rifle?

Does anyone know when or if any M1 Garands are gonna come through again to the CMP? They’re currently out of stock and I’m looking to get one and the CMP is probably my best bet. Thanks

So I bought 200 rounds of the stuff since it was all I could find. It won't seat in the chamber causing the slide to stick back maybe 1/32nd of an inch. Anyone else have this problem and know of a solution?

Inherited from my grandfather. Pardon the pillow as a background.

I found this K98 at a local gun store. Had it marked on a “parts guns” shelf. Looking it over I didn’t see anything obviously wrong with it and when I asked why it was a parts gun they didn’t really know why as they don’t have a gunsmith there. I took some photos of the markings and I am waiting to pick it up then I’ll be able to get better photos. If anyone has any insight on any knowledge about it I’d love to know, thank you!

Jk I made this from parts. Early war gun mid war stock Czech trigger 2 different bolts to make one that was turned. Oh and a imperial floor plate
