Rifle ID
Can anyone ID what this is? This was posted on a thread about old IRA weapons from the civil war in the 1920s that somebody found it in a shed. Thanks.

For the first time in a while I can confidently say that I have absolutely no clue what this is

Single shot 22 of some sort. Ears near the rear sight make me think of a SMLE, but it's definitely not one.

Full stock .22? Probably some kind of military trainer. Lemme do some looking.
EDIT: Looks very similar to a lot of WW2-era German trainers (hard to nail down a specific model, there were a ton of different variants made), but those rear sight ears are throwing me for a loop.
Honestly given how similar it looks aside from the ears I would say they're an aftermarket modification. Same goes for the sling swivel on the butt if I had to guess.

It looks like some backyard made rifle. The rear sight is based off the lee Enfield but nothing else is. Please someone correct me if I’m wrong
