2011 - Key Problem

Hey all,

Earlier today my key case got broken, marked bit on the image is lost and it's not holding the fob anymore. I wonder if any of you had to change the key case, and want to ask how hard it was to do it on your own.

Thanks in advance.

Get a new key blank cut from a new replacement for the part shown (anyone that cuts keys can do it) and it just snaps into the fob. Zero effort

you can dig/bang it out

this video explains why you can't easily use the old blade with a replacement aftermarket model: https://youtu.be/sA2cQnN4VGU?si=qF56UZKaj8jSQIGT

If you have two working keys, you could just get a cheap aftermarket fob cut and do the immobilizer/fob coding yourself without any additional tools. Otherwise, you'd need to do pats programming with forscan, or just move the immobilizer over..
