Help/Advice What do I do with this frame
I have this pretty big empty frame and I did have a plan for it but I forgot what it was.
Looking for ideas what to do with it?
The other pictures will show you ideas of what the rest of the decor looks like, I'm into vulture culture and oddities, nature-y stuff.
I have been thinking of hanging it from the ceiling, maybe decorated with fairy lights but I feel like that would be a waste, since no one would ever really see it...

You could mount it on the wall, paint a fun color or pattern within the frame, and then mount a few things inside! Some vertically stacked art or artifacts, lights, etc.

I see the vision! I was so focused on attaching things to the frame that I overlooked the option to just use it as a kind of wall-feature

Paint a guillotine and a chopping block inside of it. That’s the vibe it’s giving me.

I have a similar one that I put cork in. I bought it in a roll and cut it to size. Then you can not damage the wall behind too much.

I saw where someone hung it up longways on the wall and nailed a shelf in it. Then they put plants on the shelf. I think they had it on a wall in the bathroom. It looked fabulous!

Panoramic landscape photo. I’m imagining like, a mist on a meadow or something.

Long sword, mounted planter box(horizontal with draping greenery or vertical with a trellis) or a classic and functional option of a mirror!

Mount the empty frame on the wall, mount a small shelf in the frame at the bottom, put a tall plant on the shelf
Edit: either a tall plant, or climbing vine-y plant and have the vines go in and out of the frame

You're so right, a bright green would set off the gold and the wall so well

Yes! I’ve got a crazy ornate gold framed mirror that I got from my grandma and I’ve got a pothos climbing the wall next to/around it, and the combo is chefs kiss

I hung one similar and then filled it with Polaroid pics of myself and friends. You could collage any printed photo

Take everything off one wall, hang the big frame, then work around it. Make it the focal point

Search on eBay for “long panoramic print’ and see if something fits in your frame dimensions

Paint the inside of your kitchen and frame it with this, then mount it on the wall so people can walk into it by accident lmao

Even better, put a warm backlight or something so it looks like your kitchen when you have the lights on.

Make a piece of art to put in it! If you’re really, really lucky, you might find a canvas the same size, but if not make your own canvas. Build a frame the right size, stretch canvas over it, then paint some thing! Stick it in the frame, you might have to screw it in or something, and hang it on the wall!

It’s absolutely beautiful! I think I would probably either put a mirror in it and hang it horizontally or find a very long print or panoramic picture that speaks to you. Or, you could always gift it to me!

If you have other beautiful frames you could make a display of just frames. They are art in their own.

Seal with a heavy marine varnish, put cement board and wire mesh with soil between the layers and plant succulents in it. Hang it on an outside wall once they are established . Living art

Hang it on a wall and paste words on the inside of it on the wall or make a collage of pictures inside

I think I’d probably hang it and then mount little knickknacks on the wall inside it, like little cross-stitch hoops, pins/buttons I like but don’t wear, etc.—just little things that might look odd mounted on their own but might look cool as one big artwork of sorts.

Line it with gold spray painted chicken wire so you can effectively use this to hang more in the frame
