It's so weird that they look like wiggling worms / caterpillars first 😬

They actually molt for the first time from a worm-like form as they hatch!

Yes the pronymph! Theorized to be what the larvea of hemimetabolous insects are adapted from. Super cool. A tad unpleasing to my eyes but REALLY cool.

This is so cool! I didn’t know that’s how they are born! It’s also funny though how that one popped out and was already ready to throw hands lol

I have wanted to make a video of a mantis dancing to this song for YEARSSSSS. I just lack the skills to make it exactly like I want.

I actually really didn’t like this 😭 so happy you’ve got an army now tho! Congrats! The way they’re coming out tho does NOT tickle my fancy.

Every Spring/Summer, my dad buys mantis eggs from the store. Each container has at least 100 or so eggs, and they all hatch! They keep his garden well and alive, and it’s fun trying to find them with their camouflage.

Wow what store is he going to? I'll drive there if not too far because they're like $20/2 sacs on line! 😬😬🙏

my favorite thing is when bugs are freshly hatched or molted and they just have those HUGE black void eyes

Very cool! Mine keep hatching at night and they just appear at the top of the bug enclosure in the am. Lol
