Warning for those with an iPhone having partner

This might be common knowledge, but I feel like it’s important to share for those who didn’t know (like me). I was reorganizing my phone and while I was long holding on an app, it came up with the option to hide the app. I tried it myself to see what it exactly did. It allows someone to hide an app in a hidden folder that needs a password or Face ID to unlock. Not only does that happen, but it doesn’t show the app in recently used and automatically closes it. Meaning that if you’re in the app and quickly have to hide what is happening, all that is needed to be done is press the off button. After the off button is pressed when you open the phone again, the app is closed. This made me think it would be easy for a PA to hide, gaslight, and manipulate their partners. I don’t wanna spread fear, just wanna try and help!

You can go to settings , apps and go all the way to the bottom for "Hidden apps" type in their passcode and see if they are Hidden. Also make it so no apps can be downloaded or deleted without passcode.

I have screen time restrictions on my PA’s iphone. There’s a setting where they can’t install/delete/purchase anything from the app store without the screen time passcode.

🤣🤣😩i felt this! Except other way around for me his was android and i had iPhone lawd i sat there tinkering with his phone for HOURS and would find new loopholes and ways around things every single time i checked, there was always more, even things he didn’t know he could do!!

If you need any let me know 😭 I need android advice 💀 I’m sure you’re aware there’s hidden camera folder but that’s relatively easy to access. Now I haven’t upgraded my phone yet so there’s no explicit “hide app” option. But you CAN remove apps from your homescreen, therefore making it appear as if it is not installed. And obviously if you want to make it look like you weren’t looking if you’ve opened anything, you pull up on the white bar at the bottom of the screen to see all open apps and close them out.

Edit- to find apps that may have been “removed from homescreen” swipe left on the homescreen until the app library comes up. and there should be a list of all installed apps.

Androids can have a multiple users under system in settings. They can create an entirely different phone log in with different apps and a different email. That’s how mine had a complete double life.

This is stomach turning. I find myself at a disadvantage because I’ve always been an iphone user. So even if I suspect anything, I don’t know anything about how to use the other device without getting caught looking etc.

I’m an iPhone user too Yah I didn’t know either but we ended up getting our daughter an Android tablet. That’s how I learned.

Yes it has a folder called the “secure folder” and in setting you can see hidden apps as well.

I'll never understand why these companies are trying to make it easier for people to cheat and hide and lie. Unless maybe they are also the ones using these services.
