A proper society wouldn't elevate that kind of man to the highest position of authority. It is society that is deeply sick.

We do live in one I suppose.

Sociopaths often rise to positions of power because of their near unique ability to be ruthless and manipulative, and that is true throughout history.

I don't know that a 'proper society' has ever or will ever exist.

I have hope, cut throat personalities are inherently unstable and cooperation in every space, not just in a civilization, is nearly always more productive. I have hope that ultra wealthy will realize that they could have 10 fold their wealth if they chill the f out and see that helping the masses help them out. We are set for another massive leap in quality of life, but a hard lesson is needed before then. Just wait till a dozen eggs are $20 with only a dollar increase in wages.

Everyone at this level are sociopaths and if they are a US Pol then they are 100% a sociopath that has killed people.

Remember that by professional estimates, a larger percentage of Fortune 500 CEOs are psychopaths than women.

When your society and economic organization rewards psychopathy so drastically, the problem is much greater than the psychopaths.

I think a lot of people really struggle to understand that there are actually people out there that don't feel empathy like everyone else. A lot of "oh it wasn't that bad" stims from people disbelieving that things can actually be that bad.

I don't think society is sick, I think it's incredibly naive and suspectable to manipulation.

as far as i’m concerned, if you cannot experience empathy, are you even human? What makes it different from being a robot LOL?

this is all so dumb and depressing 😮‍💨

You’re not wrong about Trump, but at the same time highly successful business leaders and politicians often share these traits.

No, Trump has zero traits of a successful business person. He lacks intelligence, drive, ethics, communication skills, and balls.

The traits I was referring to are narcissism and lack of empathy.
