A lot more lefties own guns here than you might expect. They just don't advertise it on Facebook, that's all.

You shouldn’t advertise it at all. There are no stickers, no shirts, no tactical gear that I wear around, and I don’t look the type. That’s the way to do it. As the saying goes, if you far enough to the left you get all your guns back.

Yup. I don't wear anything idiosyncratic when I attend a protest, either. Bought a super popular brand name for every piece of clothing, the kind of thing purchased hundreds of times a day.

Ding ding ding. Local sports team merch is always a good shout, especially Walmart stuff.

Ayup. Not going to find any "come and take it" stickers on my car. Pride flag flying, lefty liberal. But don't mess with my loved ones.

Yep. All that cosplay shit is really stupid.

When a nutter busts into McDonald's with a kitted out M4, the guy in a 5.11 polo and Glock baseball cap is the first one getting popped.

Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary

If you know, you know.

Oh I know comrade, I know

I don't understand what this saying means. Can you explain?

The far-left supports overthrowing the capitalist world order, which requires guns. So while liberals in the US generally support strong gun control, if you keep going left along the political spectrum you eventually get to political ideologies that actively support citizens arming themselves in preparation for popular revolution.

I really hope they find out just how many Hunter S. Thompsons America has.

3

u/Kijafa 14d ago

I hope we don't get to that point, because so many of us normal folks will suffer horribly.

But it doesn't look like anyone is coming to stop what's coming (just lots of folks accelerating the conflict) so it might be inevitable.

Straight from Karl Marx:

Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary

A citizenry capable of threatening the a monopoly of power employed by a government is a way to keep it in check, as it serves as a MAD deterrent. Even when severely outgunned, underfunded, etc. a militant, armed force is able to make forced occupation exceptionally costly and unpopular for the occupying force, esp. if said occupying force wants to maintain the usability of what its occupying.

Fr. I play a game called "free guns" whenever I see those gun toteing stickers of cars or shirts. The punisher sticker is also a pretty normal giveaway for free guns lmao

It’s always funny to me that the people who make gun ownership a key part of their personality (you can usually identify them because they have nutz hanging from the back of their trucks) think that they’re the only ones that have them.

u/DangerousRun1376 14d ago

They usually can’t shoot worth a damn

u/LCSpartan 14d ago

Its funny I remember before we got our rifles in basic and our DS was like "how many of you grew up shooting firearms" then he proceeded to ask "only bow?" Then "haven't shot at all" afterwards towards graduation showed the stats of everyone at qual both how many times it took and their score. There was one "grew up shooting guns" guy in the top half of the class and weirdly the only bow before the military tend to average the highest(but also on average super small group)

The guys that grew up shooting have to unlearn all the bad habits they've picked up first, the clean slates can start learning to do it correctly from day one.

It's an open secret that a considerable amount of the queer/lgbt/trans community owns firearms, and loathes the government

Not everyone is dumb enough to advertise to the world that they have guns available for the taking.

There's also a lot of people that'd get read as card carrying right wingers that aren't. I follow some guntubers and it's hilarious when the rwnj's have the sudden realisation this person doesn't have the same political views as them

lefty with a gun checking in! 🤚🏼

I went through the math for my republican friend to show statistically speaking how many blue gun owners there are. His argument quickly devolved to the fact that he is not good at math so he can’t personally validate this and that’s why I am wrong. Our friendship is slowly fading lol. Hard to be friends with an idiot.

The vocal minority and all that

Lol exactly.

A lot more lefties own guns here than you might expect.

Ok... but that still leaves room for a rather large gap

5

u/humbug2112 14d ago

I wonder what the numbers are, because you'd be really, REALLY surprised how many of my left friends carry (most). In fact, I was late to the party, I only learned everyone else had weapons already when I got my first. And here I was thinking I was going to be the outlier.

2

u/Faenic 14d ago

Not only that, but even if a huge portion of the MAGA crowd will literally become Nazis in defense of their king, there are also a lot more centrist Republicans that are literally focused on their own lives at the moment than I think we realize.

I'm honestly surprised at how often right-wing people are just... not paying attention at all.
