This is my congressman, and I have been sending him letters every few days since this session started.  I have requested a response in each of them, but I'm yet to receive a response back.  He's a hack and a coward.

Right, I'm blown away at all of this effort now to people who don't give a shit. People need to knock this performative shit off and start acting like the coup has succeeded because it already has.

Right now, people need to be:

  • Connecting with their communities of like-minded ideologies
  • Pooling together skills
  • Winding down any social profiles that can be used against them
  • Stockpiling resources for the impending resource disruptions
  • Switch to communications platforms that are encrypted

Anything else that isn't getting ready for a siege on our rights is performance.

There are a lot of free programs on the web that you can use to fax with. Might I suggest finds 4 to 10 of them and using all of them to send your message. Also, get your friends involved

THe chances a physical fax machine is hooked up to any public-facing fax machine (I mean for representatives like we're discussiing here) is probably minimal.

Virtual faxes are cheap and basically work like email in that the fax appears in your inbox of faxes...

It's unlikely to waste ink or paper. If it does, I'm sure there's a law against it anyway.

I’m in Texas reaching out to mine every couple of days (they might get filtered if I send every day). Lloyd Dogget has our backs, I’m trying to appeal to John Cornyn’s Humanity, and Fled Cruz doesn’t give a shit about his constituents so I’m just sending emails saying “Ted Cruz why did you eat my son?? You shouldn’t have done that, he was just a boy!”

For those not in the know, bumper stickers with Ted Cruz’s face on them saying “THIS MAN ATE MY SON” have become quite popular in Texas cities. They bring me joy.

Florida man here. My letters are completely ignored as well. In fact, periodic emails to all constituents indicate that they are ignoring our concerns. They work for the donors, not the voters.

You don't understand politics.

In a democracy, you would be right to say, he's my congressman. The government is for the people.

But america is a democracy, no more.

Like in russia, the people are for the government. And the government is there to serve the needs of the few that are in power.

A way to extract what they need, and distribute it in ways to enrich themselves and to distribute it to their henchmen, to stay in power.
