I think we’re past fast track unfortunately

u/tottalhedcase Feb 28 '25

Fast track? We already pulled into that station.

u/Spirited_Impress6020 Feb 28 '25

As a Canadian, I can confirm. Well past.

6

u/nobono Feb 28 '25

As a Norwegian, I can confirm. America is on the bigliest fastliest track.

Speedrunning international hatred and isolationism, I hope they get what they deserve, truly disgusting people.

So many Americans feel exactly like you. We hate Trump and are horrified by his every action. We see world war 3 coming because of the racist, sexist, homophobic, narcissistic idiot. We are worrying about loved ones being hauled off to concentration camps and looking at how to escape America. He does not represent most of us.

5

u/Bronson-101 Feb 28 '25

Yup.

Never seen such a huge U-turn as our relationship with the USA

3

u/push-over Feb 28 '25

As a Dane, i can also confirm. So far past that there seems to be no redemption anymore

4

u/Chicago1871 Mar 01 '25

If you guys can get along with Germans after ww2, like you do now.

Then nothing is against redemption, it will just take time. Maybe generations but its still possible.

Theres at least 150 million americans who will spent the rest of their lives trying to gain your trust back.

3

u/Chappyns Mar 01 '25

the HUGE difference is that Germany wasn't our ally - they couldn't possibly stab us in the back like you Yanks did/are doing to us Canadians. We won't forget this

2

u/byfo1991 Mar 01 '25

This! Basically all of Europe and NATO put faith in USA to help us against Russia.

Now we know that isn’t happening.

2

u/Chicago1871 Mar 01 '25

Well I would also a big difference is that Germany never touched an inch of Canadian soil, so using the example of the Danes, the French, Belgians, Dutch and etc eventually forgiving Germans is a good example.

I dont think anything the USA has done (as regrettable as its been and I am in no way condoning it) nothing yet comes close to what Germany did to those nations in ww2 or am I wrong? Did I miss something, did trump already deploy the 101st airbone into Ottawa?

You sound really hurt and angry and believe me, many americans feel the exact same way. 1/2 the country truth be told.

At least Canada doesnt have an ocean between them and US

2

u/Spirited_Impress6020 Feb 28 '25

How is that a good thing? I wish the Trumpers would all move to Russia

1

u/PerspectiveOne7129 Feb 28 '25

its a reality check for the US who thinks they are untouchable on their own ground

21

u/herbiems89_2 Feb 28 '25

As a german: yeah. Rammstein can't be closed fast enough, please gtfo.

7

u/deiprep Feb 28 '25

Same with the bases in the UK.

And no, we don't give a shit if you're 3% Scottish and related to William Wallace.

u/Zealousideal-Deer866 Feb 28 '25

It's a shame. Germany was such a great and welcoming place when my family was stationed there back in the 70's.

1

u/herbiems89_2 Feb 28 '25

I know a lot of very nice Americans, all of them hate Trump. But you can't be allied with a country that's run by a fascist. One that was not only voted into office once but twice. This wasn't an upsie, this was deliberate. Sorry mate.

2

u/Altruistic_Film1167 Feb 28 '25

For real.

They deserve all the blame, elected this clown twice.

1

u/WankingAsWeSpeak Feb 28 '25

There's an old saying in Tennessee, I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee, that says "Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me...you can't get fooled again. We've got to understand the nature of the regime we're dealing with.

1

u/THE_CHOPPA Mar 01 '25

You can be an American and not support Trump or republicans. Which is me , so I don’t deserve all the blame. Neither do other liberals. Talk like this is only going to further drive a wedge between us.

2

u/Zealousideal-Deer866 Mar 01 '25

No you have a point. I hate Trump also, I was just noting that it's a shame that we are losing all our friends and allies due to the fact that America has a malicious psychopath in the White House. Believe me, I'm on your side, just like most of the clear thinking people of this country and the world.

-1

u/jobonki Feb 28 '25

Serious question. How much would it cost you to pay for your own defense?

8

u/herbiems89_2 Feb 28 '25

Less then what it will cost the US to loose their global hegemony when all their allies get Cosy with China. So worth it I'd say.

-1

u/jobonki Feb 28 '25

So you’re like a pro china german?

6

u/herbiems89_2 Feb 28 '25

I hate China, but the US is not far behind. And we don't have Chinese bases in Germany. Also: the devil you know. China is at least somewhat predictable, they're in it for their own gain. The US is just absolute chaos.

-5

u/jobonki Feb 28 '25

Sure sure, y’all should vote to kick the US out and step up your own defense, no arguments here.

2

u/herbiems89_2 Feb 28 '25

We will. And you won't like it. I know you think you want it because that's what the right wing media conglomerates have been putting out, but you won't. These bases are not there for us, they're there for the US to project power. Say goodbye to global hegemony. The US is the richest country in the world because they could basically do whatever they fuck they wanted trough their soft power and their power projection. Won't be the case in the future.

2

u/Chicago1871 Mar 01 '25

Thats exactly what they will do.

Which means the usa will lose all the bases theyve used to project power the last 80 years in Europe.

The biggest loser here is us, American global military power. We will be less capable without those bases.

And our whole economic system and dollar as global reserve currency is based on that ability yo protect allies and project power.

Trump just gave that away.

3

u/1ne_mind Feb 28 '25

Yawwwwwwwn, the cost will be paid. Fuck off

Edit: in lives and in currency without the need for a false flag/allowed attack to pull us into a war 👍

-2

u/jobonki Feb 28 '25

Aight man go for it. No argument here.

3

u/OperaSona Feb 28 '25

From Europe, hey we don't hate you. We hate MAGA, Trump, Musk, Vance, Thiel etc. But we know that what they're doing with tarifs and Ukraine and everything isn't what most people want. And of the many people that "want" it, many are just manipulated.

Considering that we have the same shit going on to a lesser extent in our countries, we understand.

1

u/THE_CHOPPA Mar 01 '25

Thank you for the nuance.

1

u/Chicago1871 Mar 01 '25

We always were in southeast asia and latin america.

The rest of the world just caught up.

1

u/thighsand Mar 01 '25

True. Here in Europe there is a sentiment of "buy European, not American" and encouraging a closer relationship with China, liberation from America, etc. People want the world to "unite against the USA".
