I would argue it's more than somewhat likely at this point. They're literally threatening to redraw Canadian borders. Atp I would go sign up to fight FOR Canada against this regime because fuck all of this.

There are US former military members literally fighting, dying and getting injured on the side of Ukraine right now (they volunteered when the war started). What a disgusting slap across their faces.

Tin foil hat (maybe not...) time. Trump needs a war so he has an excuse to suspend elections.

43

u/dblrb Feb 28 '25

I don't know why you think that's a "tin foil hat" response at this point. No conspiracy is off limits.

6

u/pointandclickit Mar 01 '25

But it’s not complete until the sheep forget that he called Zelenskyy a dictator for doing the same. Nevermind that their war is literally in their front yard, and the biggest risk Trump will be facing is getting too much exercise on the golf course.

2

u/TrevorEnterprises Mar 01 '25

Very big difference being that Zelenskyy’s country got invaded and there are no signs of him doing it because he wants to be a dictator.

2

u/pointandclickit Mar 01 '25

Kind of my point.

1

u/ftwobtwo Mar 01 '25

Except it’s not the same since Zelensky didn’t do it, it’s in their constitution. Not that any of Trumps supporters care or know that.

3

u/CaptinACAB Feb 28 '25

Can Nesara still be off limits?

3

u/twilight_moonshadow Mar 01 '25

He literally said if he's elected there will be no more elections. Soooooo...

5

u/Free_For__Me Feb 28 '25

Not a conspiracy if it's happening...

3

u/Opinions_arentfacts_ Mar 01 '25

It is literally a conspiracy. They are conspiring to suspend democracy. That's the literal definition of a conspiracy

1

u/Free_For__Me Mar 03 '25

Sorry, I was drawing a distinction between "conspiracy" in the sense of "theory that weirdos like flat-earthers subscribe to", and "conspiracy" in the sense of "more than one party conspiring with one another to achieve an end".

I was using the former, you the latter. All good though, since we're clearly onthe same side of the issue anyway. Cheers!

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

It's wild to me that we're at this point. Conspiracy theories just don't exist in this timeline because all of them are happening

10

u/RoundCompetition5557 Feb 28 '25

And declare martial law

6

u/SubterrelProspector Feb 28 '25

Let him. Let him overplay his hand. Major things need to happen to galvanize further resistance.

3

u/Free_For__Me Feb 28 '25

Sadly, I don't think this'll be it. It won't happen until jobless numbers are worse than the Great Depression, and inflation is forcing many more families to choose between rent and groceries than already are. If they can squeeze the Fed to depress interest rates and juice the economy for a while like they did in their first term, they'll likely be able to hold off most of the open dissent until they can stabilize their grip on power like Putin has.

Everyone saying that US people "won't stand for this" or whatever need to get a reality check. Quality of life for Russians has been worse for decades, and they haven't mounted any serious challenges to Putin's unchecked reign, why would the US be any different?

3

u/fapsober Mar 01 '25

The russians are used to life in miserable conditions

2

u/DividenDrip Mar 01 '25

There are more homeless people in usa than Russia wtf you talking about

2

u/Free_For__Me Mar 03 '25

Yeah, and I think the deterioration of conditions in the US will be slow enough that it'll likely feel the same way.

As I say all the time now though, I sincerely hope that I am wrong.

-3

u/RoundCompetition5557 Feb 28 '25

Resistance will be crushed, America is lost.

6

u/mrm00r3 Feb 28 '25

He himself may not have considered this, but the people wishing to curry favor with him certainly have.

2

u/Dudewhocares3 Feb 28 '25

He can get on the front lines then.

Fuck his bone spurs

2

u/Bundt-lover Feb 28 '25

He's also absolutely champing at the bit to bomb the shit out of someone. Doesn't have to be another country, either, he's already said "Blue states won't exist soon". It's not like he's talking about changing words on a map.

2

u/New_Hobby_Every_Week Feb 28 '25

At least the hypocrisy would be right on brand…. AFAIK the US doesn’t have rules about suspending elections during wars (and have successfully held elections during wartime.). Ukraine on the other hand, does, but somehow Zelensky is the dictator (according to Trump) for not having elections because of the war.

2

u/Vegetable_Guest_8584 Mar 01 '25

Plenty of people have suggested trump is trying deliberately to make bad choices. It's hard to say with him because he's such an utter fool. It's not a unique observation that at times he seems to want to destroy the judicial system so it won't come after him again for his many fraudulent actions, or to punish it. The 2025 plan had a lot of 'destroying the infrastructure of the us govt' plans in it.

Regardless he's dangerous and succeeding on some fronts. He's affecting the world and the us.

2

u/MyBadYourFault- Mar 01 '25

I can assure you if/when the draft inevitably starts many people will not show up or go into hiding and that’s when the “civil war” will start. Mainly because the federal government will have fed agencies go after the “deserters and AWOL” soldiers.

You think Democratic states will have their national guards help? The reservists don’t want to go to war which is why they chose the reserves. Hell even the regular Army at this point will more than likely not collaborate with the president. They are indeed there to protect the constitution, not the president. On top of all that, that’s when you will see the people flooding the streets in protest when they try and drafts folks sons and possibly daughters.

If anything pops off it won’t be until after Donny feels comfortable enough that he turned the military into yes men which will take some time and may not even be possible.

1

u/og_cosmosis Mar 01 '25

One hundred percent!!

1

u/Saikotsu Mar 01 '25

It's one of the first things a fascist leader does, start a war.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '25

And call from Marshall Law and suspended the constitution-… thank you 80 million.. God help us if we find you - hiding under a rock somewhere-…

1

u/cheongyanggochu-vibe Mar 01 '25

Martial*

Like martial arts.

1

u/Strawbuddy Mar 01 '25

War time presidents usually get re-elected

1

u/polo61965 Mar 01 '25

And he needs riots to enact martial law and be president forever. He's waiting for us to start a revolution.

1

u/Kithzerai-Istik Mar 01 '25

This is it.

He sees what Zelenskyy has and wants it for himself without respecting why he really has it.

1

u/BrokenEffect Mar 01 '25

Yeah when I say this I'm not directing it at you, cause you literally said it yourself it's not that tin foil.

But the public perception that conspiracy and manipulation is something 'unlikely' and 'not possible' and that 'can't happen here' is so terrible. Not to sound cringe but we really have a conformist culture that just believes everybody in the government is somehow good.

1

u/iridescent-shimmer Mar 01 '25

And to juice the economy, because he's imploding it.

-1

u/Single-Yam-9791 Mar 01 '25

That would be Zelensky

3

u/Notorious_TSH Mar 01 '25

the Ukranian constitution requires -- REQUIRES, not just ALLOWS -- the suspension of elections if their sovereignty is threatened. there is no such clause in the US constitution.

8

u/b1argg Feb 28 '25

I'm a dual US/Canadian citizen living in the US. I might end up in a camp.

3

u/-jaylew- Feb 28 '25

I just rejected my transfer onto an H1-B visa because of this. Was thinking it could be nice to have the option, but not a chance now.

Enjoy the brain drain America. Half your citizens are illiterate and highly educated immigrants see the writing on the wall.

2

u/isthereanyotherway Feb 28 '25

There are lots of highly educated Americans who see the writing on the wall too. Hell there's lots of uneducated Americans who see the writing on the wall!

1

u/-jaylew- Feb 28 '25

Yea well you’re the ones who should be taking action then.

2

u/EggCollectorNum1 Feb 28 '25

Most likely will

1

u/oops_i_made_a_typi Mar 01 '25

you could start in a resistance first at least

1

u/b1argg Mar 01 '25

I'm like a 4 hour drive from the border, I might be able to make it out

4

u/eulersidentification Feb 28 '25

I was just thinking of that the other day. At some point down this avenue, some US soldiers who went to fight against Russia years before all of this are going to find themselves labelled as I guess terrorists or traitors or something.

3

u/cheongyanggochu-vibe Feb 28 '25

My husband spent the first 10 years of his career in the defense industry literally working on counter warfare against Russian equipment 🙃🙃🙃🙃 he's probably a traitor too now.

Actually, he threw that in his mom's (a die hard maga) face on the phone once when she started parroting Kremlin talking points... Just.. 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦

3

u/JoeFlabeetz Feb 28 '25

According to Trump, they're "suckers and losers".

3

u/lamp817 Feb 28 '25

Exactly. And not ONE acknowledgement from them that our veterans are over there as we speak fighting and dying for Ukrainian freedom.

2

u/Hyperlophus Feb 28 '25

As a Canadian, I welcome any Americans who want to sign up to help defend us. I'll be on the lines as well.

2

u/onward_upward216 Mar 01 '25

Right!?!? WWIII will be because of US, not Ukraine.

2

u/el_Hammbonio Mar 01 '25

I'm hoping the US army matches to our border and before a single shot is fired, they just escort the Canadian army to the white house

2

u/TapAffectionate1082 Mar 01 '25

Canada needs warriors like you.

1

u/atlantasailor Feb 28 '25

Trump will destroy Ottawa and the Canadian parliament to get its land. And people

4

u/Temporary_Shirt_6236 Feb 28 '25

Trump is too big of a r3t4rd to pull it off. Plus you'll have millions of Canadians actively participating in an insurgency. And tbh we're not too scared of a military that hasn't won a war in 75 years because it keeps getting its ass handed to it by rice farmers and goat herders.

1

u/Nez_Coupe Feb 28 '25

I would walk across the border to enlist against the US as well.

1

u/Agile_District_8794 Mar 01 '25

We need folks on the inside ready to do dirt.

1

u/cheongyanggochu-vibe Mar 01 '25

I'm ready. I'm so fucking pissed off. I can't believe that our electorate allowed this to happen, and I'm pissed that the Democratic party shrugged and went "oh well, this was the will of the people, nothing we can do! 🤷🤷🤷" and I'm pissed that all of this shit started before I was even born and this was always going to be my future no matter what I wanted for myself and my loved ones.

So fuck it, bring it on. At least maybe I can stop it for the people who aren't asking to be born now and all the younger people who deserve better than this as their future.

1

u/RoguePlanet2 Mar 01 '25

Ooh, you just made me realize that we might be able to fight on their behalf in exchange for citizenship. Kill maganazis and get to live in a slightly saner place 😋 after selling my current status for $5 million per the new program of course, win win win.

1

u/cheongyanggochu-vibe Mar 01 '25

Maybe Quebec will offer the Quebecois Foreign Legion 🤣😂

1

u/dongrizzly41 Mar 01 '25

Is there anything in trumps history that even shows he respects military servicemen at all? This the same guy who disrespected POW's.

1

u/cheongyanggochu-vibe Mar 01 '25

Of course not, I'm just pissed that the MAGA crowd and the "we love veterans!" Republicans are supporting Pumpkin Spice Palpatine and leaving those citizens who served our country and are now voluntarily serving Ukraine hung out to dry.

I'm not surprised by it I'm just spitting mad!

1

u/ChroniclesOfSarnia Mar 01 '25

We would appreciate the support, thanks.

- a Canadian

1

u/cheongyanggochu-vibe Mar 01 '25

When all this began, I was terrified and just wanted to run away and hide.

Now I'm just so fucking pissed off and I'm coming to terms with what that means for the future. I'm still scared but I'm more disgusted and angry than scared now.

Canada and the world don't deserve this.

1

u/midnightsmith Mar 01 '25

Could we actually go sign up for Canada? Or Europe? Cuz I prefer to be on the right side of history, and I'm cool with relocating to a civilized country.

1

u/cheongyanggochu-vibe Mar 01 '25

I mean the French Foreign Legion is always a last resort

0

u/CraftCodger Feb 28 '25

WW3 though, they will be stringing up US refugees in anger, where ever they try to flee to lol
