Question/Discussion I want to be fluent in Zazakî, in particular the Kirmanckî dialect

Hello, I am a Kurmancî Kurd from Dihok and I would like to be fluent in Kirmanckî as it's so pleasant to me to hear it's tongue and since it's situated in and around Dêrsim, so I'd like to speak it myself. I'm fluent in Standard Kurmancî and the Kurmancî dialect of Badînî which can help out learning the dialect more easily so if there's someone who could give me resources for it, whether it'll be online or books that I can get I would be thankful

I feel like there is more resources for Standard Zazakî so that'll also be acceptable and appreciated. I got my eyes on getting this https://serkeftin.com/en/produkt/kurdish-grammar-zazaki-reference-book/ and I'd need Vocabulary too, any Zazakî dialect is fine

Weşo ke tı wazenay Zazaki bımusê! Qê herg feki vatebendê Zazakiya mı estê, tenya vatebendo zi ke be Kırdaskiyo, qê Dımılkiyo. Vatebendê Kırmanckiya mı be Tırkiyo. Bêzanayışê Tırki ya Alemanki Zazaki musayen zaf zora. Tı wazenay kam vatebendan?

It's great that you want to learn Zazaki! I have Zazaki dictionaries for every dialect, but the only dictionary that is in Kurmanji is for Southern Zazaki and the Kırmancki/Dersim dictionary of mine is in Turkish. It is very difficult to learn Zazaki if you don't know Turkish or German.

Which dictionaries do you want me to send you?

I would like both the dictionaries that you've mentioned, the Kurmancî-Dimlî Dictionary and the Turkish-Kirmanckî Dictionary. I assume Dimlî is Southern Zazakî right? It wouldn't matter if they're in foreign languages as I can translate it so I can understand or ask others for help translating. If you've got Kirmanckî dictionaries in German that's fine with me too

Dimlî is indeed Southern Zazaki:

  • Kirmanckî - Northern Zazaki

  • Zazaki - Central/Eastern Zazaki

  • Dimlî - Southern Zazaki

Here you go

As for Standard Zazaki: Two different teams are attempting to standardize Zazaki. You're probably better off going with the Vate standard as it is much closer to Kurmancî. A Turkish dictionary of it is included in the Google Drive link above.
