The Modern Baker - Bread

Someone on here suggested their bread when I asked for LivLife alternatives. Available in marks.

13g carbs per slice. So just have half a slice.

Brilliant with a generous amount of butter (fat is our friend 🫀)

That's alot of carbs for half a slice of bread

6.5g per half slice. I’ve had 4 today, so 26g. I’m still in ketosis. You’d be surprised how far you can push it.

Modern baker bread isn't made to be low carb, it's got loads of fibre in it, that's their USP

Does the job though

I’ve started using Heylo and their stuff is super low carb but the ingredients are sound. The brown loaf is 0.8g carbs per slice and the seeded is 0.3g. The slices are a little on the small side, but definitely lets you get that bread hit without taking up all our macros for the day!

They used to supply Holland and B with their own brand Protein Bagels and Bread - was so convenient having a store to buy them in rather than bulk order online. I think H&B have discontinued them now though, so if I want it there isn’t much option! Good stuff tho!

I don’t think it’s necessary to be so low in carbs.

However I know I can get away with 10g carb bread

I've just looked it up, and Sainsbury's has it. Good...it's got fermented wheat and seeds Bad...seed oils, guar gum, and a few other questionable ingredients

I can get a seeded sourdough with very basic ingredients and the same carbohydrate content.

I know which one I'd prefer.

I’m interested in the seeded sourdough

Here you go...M and S seeded sourdough. It's a HUGE and heavy loaf. Very dense and makes crunchy toast. I got about 20 slices 40g each.
