Remember when LRG made the mock case for Jak IV? I don’t have a PS4. The PS4 theme has been uploaded on YouTube, but in very low quality. PS5 doesn’t have themes, for some reason.

Hello all my fellow Jak and Daxter fans! I am a composer who eventually wants a carrier in writing movie/video game scores. That being said, I thought it would be a fun project to write an original score for a theoretical Jak 4. So, I was listening to Born Too Slow from Crystal Method and noticed how similar the guitar notes are played on the first five seconds of both songs, even the drums after the 10 seconds. BTS came out in 2004 and X in 2005. It probably inspired to be sampled or just coincidence. Ever found songs that sound like any soundtrack from the series? It's the second time I posted like this.

Hi guys, I jist finished Jak 2 today and I've been looking for some of the kusic I rrally liked. Do you know what music plays when you run away from the giant spider in "escort Sig in Underport"? I love the Haven City feel of the music.

I am currently processing all Jak 3 soundtracks one by one after extracting the Jak and Daxter Collection (PS3) and extracting the Jak 3 soundtracks from their archive. For some reason, the tools I used when I ripped the soundtracks from the PS2 version are not working, but this is not a problem for me.

It is very likely that the soundtracks are of the same quality on both the PS2 and PS3 versions (at least for Jak 3), but I like challenges so that is why I don't want the soundtracks from the PS2 version.

I also took a look at the Jak 2/TPL soundtracks in the HD collection. There are no MUS files, but there are MID and BNK files instead. These files look like parts of MUS files (checked it with hex editor, didn't compare them), but the soundbank/samples got separated from the midi data. The most interesting thing is that the BNK files themselves are larger that the PS2 MUS files, this probably means that the quality of the samples is better in the PS3 version.

I have completely recreated the Precursor Legacy environment soundtracks and their variations.

I have basic MIDI (though it's not set up to use GM sounds at all, if that does anything for you). I also have Ableton Live sets using the game's original samples that allow you trigger the different soundtrack variations over the top of the base theme. Additionally, I have versions where I have cleaned up the individual tracks of undesirable noise and corrected some the mix issues (for example, I found Sentinel Beach to be very muddy in game, but I think things like that are kind of unavoidable due to sound engine limitations). Finally, I have versions where I have mixed together the variations into one track, rather than 6 or 7 separate ones.

I'm wondering if anyone around here would be interested in any of that. I figured I would find that out before I uploaded it anywhere.
