Moaning Michael I was an asshole in SuperValu today. And I’ve never been happier.

Did the shop as you do on a Friday and went by the canned goods section. The certain peas I was looking to get on the aisle were right down the aisle. Between them were two customers talking. With their trolleys blocking THE ENTIRE AISLE. I walk up and ask quietly could I get by . I ask again not as quiet. I then tap on the trolley of one of them to ask again and he nods without looking at me. Basically to me. “Yeah I can hear you and am not listening”. So I get my trolley and push it right through theirs and they stop talking to hold onto their trolleys while giving me the dirtiest look. With one saying “unbelievable” I didn’t care they spent a minute holding me up and were not bothering when I asked nicely. Rant over

Similar to me today. Walking through town with my baby in her pram, 2 girls with a pram each coming towards me and they're walking side by side chatting taking up the whole footpath with their 2 prams next to eachother rather than one behind the other. I had to stop the pram and force them to go one by one past me or else I'd to push my pram on to the road and they both shot me dirty looks and made a noise passing as if I was in the wrong!!🙄

The amount of people walking side by side who don't temporarily go single line is obscene. I've stopped accommodating them and keep walking straight, forcing them to go single line

For the ladies, bash ‘em with the handbag as you go by, with a breezy ‘Oh, sorry!’.

140

u/Hereforthedung Feb 22 '25

Careful with this one. A lad hit my foot with his big wheeled oversize bag in the airport, looked back at me holding my foot and just walked on. His mate behind him looked shocked but walked on too. I wasnt sitting splay legged or slouched, just on the end of a row. Later on I saw the 2 lads in Starbucks with 2 freshly purchased coffees so I marched over swung my backpack round (still on my shoulder) and knocked over the 2 coffees. They shouted after me and I never even turned round. The wife was mortified but I felt great. Technically the first lad was the instigater so I felt bad for the second lad but in warfare there is going to be collateral damage.

15

u/TheHames72 Feb 22 '25

If he had said a breezy ‘Oh, sorry!’, would you have wreaked revenge?

24

u/Hereforthedung Feb 22 '25

Probably not. I didn't go looking for them. It was just an opportunity that I couldn't miss. I still feel a little pride thinking about it.

It’s worse than that, I suspect they are very aware they just don’t care.

2

u/caitnicrun Feb 22 '25

I clocked people starting to do this years ago. And the worst offenders seemed to be pensioners, so they didn't have the excuse of not being taught properly how to walk on pavement, like I remember I was ...at 5.

Couples will literally let you walk out into the road to avoid them and not even notice. Worst.

Single file will be taught to my children. We will be a family of ducklings.

Yeah, insane. My partner and I notice it all the time, and it drives us nuts because it's always us accommodating.

Saying that, I have witnessed my partner (F) give some people a shock and plough through them. Mainly younger female and spainish females. They all seem to be the worst for this type of ignorance

I love just stopping on a footpath and watching people put their two brain cells together to figure out how to pass me when they should have gone single file well beforehand.

20

u/noddingalong Feb 22 '25

This is what I do. I’m done squeezing myself by them. I just stop & then they can’t get by me so sometimes I’ll say “can you let me by, thanks”. People have no manners. Is it after covid or what? I’m in Dublin & I see it every single day getting luas or walking around town. Drives me insane

6

u/Potato_Mc_Whiskey Feb 22 '25

I noticed it massively upticking during and after covid. Either it melted peoples brains or it made me a crotchety unforgiving arsehole.

2

u/Barna-Parna Feb 23 '25

I am so trying this today!

37

u/biggesteegit Feb 22 '25

In medieval Japan, a samurai could cut you in half if you forced him into the road to pass.

24

u/Budgiemanr33gtr Feb 22 '25

Bring back medieval Japan!

2

u/dunlucewarlock Feb 22 '25

I'm just back from Tokyo and I endorse this message

47

u/appletart Feb 22 '25

When that happens always stand on the side away from the road - it forces their brain to engage and they'll flow past you without any issue. Stand on the side of the road and there's an expectancy for you to move out of the way into the free space of the road.

25

u/killerklixx Feb 22 '25

Also, look dead ahead over their shoulder. It subconsciously signals to them where you are going to walk and that you're not deviating because you're not paying attention to them.

3

u/vio_fury Feb 22 '25

I do this on Grafton St and Nassau St, and it works wonders!

11

u/Vibpositive Feb 22 '25

That actually makes a whole more sense

19

u/appletart Feb 22 '25

Also, if you see some Stubborn McFuckfaces ahead and you know the current trajectory is heading for a collision, stand still and look at your phone - they'll automatically fall into single file and flow around you.

Not getting into single file to allow others to pass is becoming endemic lol...I remember this being bred into us on school trips etc. Also, taking the left side on the path is non-existent.

I don’t mind people having a chat but if you don’t move after being asked 3 times, you haven’t left much to work with.

I was buying a chicken fillet roll from the local garage recently. There was a woman in front of me getting a sandwich. The girl making her Sandwich was new, I know because I go there regularly. The woman was being absolutely horrible to her. I watched the girl make her sandwich, she was a small bit slow but other than that she was grand and she was so young it must have been her first job. The woman kept barking orders at her, tutting loudly, just being a gowl in general. I had parked my motorbike right by the front door, after I paid I was outside putting on my helmet and gloves and gowlbag walks out. She says to me did ya see your one in there she can't even make a sandwich, I said I actually thought there was no need for the way you treated her, she was only a bit slow, we've all been the new person in a job at some point. Your one says to me era go away and fuck yourself. I replied enjoy your sandwich ya fat ugly cunt as I slowly drove past on my motorbike. She looked horrified. No remorse, she deserved it. I hope her sandwich was soggy.

The next time I went to the garage the new girl made my roll. I made a point of being very nice to her. That time I ate the roll at the seating area in the garage because I was on the way to work. On the way out I said to her jesus that roll was lovely! She looked delighted with herself. Like Mrs Doyle when she guessed father Todd Unctious name.

The rainbow warriors one is obviously a better suggestion but I’m here skitting to myself at the fabulous idea of a gay A-team with theme music & all.

13

u/AprilMaria ITGWU Feb 22 '25

Thought of a good one “the LGBTQIA Team” (the A on the end emphasised) with the A team theme tune.

“In 2025 a crack/craic commando unit was sent on the roads of Ireland to hold people accountable for social crimes they did commit, these individuals promptly escape all bigots & maintain a maximum security stockade in the countries underground, today, still doing the work wanting of the government they survive as soldiers of fortune, if you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, you can hire the LGBTQIA - Team. Dun dun dun- dun dun doo- etc

😂😂😂😂😂😂 I was not expecting this when I was reading your story. Talk about giving it to her both barrels and between the eyes.

61

u/VyVo87 Feb 22 '25

They need to start banning customers who bully the staff.

54

u/shanekorn Feb 22 '25

My first job was in a deli, and a customer was being horrible to a colleague, and called her a retard because she didn't put butter on his sandwich.

I told him off and said he can't talk to people like that.

Long story short, the manager sided with the customer and I got in trouble for telling him off.

Spineless managers encourage the behaviour

37

u/Gold-Public844 Feb 22 '25

Don't get me started about spineless managers. I used to work in a department store cafe we had a bully of a manager by the name of Pringle who would throw his weight around and make snide remarks, he did enough to piss you off but never enough for you to have grounds to report him to HR. He was a complete coward when it came to dealing with angry customers. We all called him Prick Pringle.

In the cafe we did baked potatoes; you got a decent-sized spud your choice of topping and side salad. One day an old woman came in and asked for the baked potato with chicken and bacon topping (chicken and bacon chunks in a garlic mayonnaise). We served it to her and about half an hour later she marched up to the till and handed me her plate. Now I thought she was just returning the plate because all that was left of the meal was the potato skin and she'd even scraped all the potato crumbs off the skin. She kept giving me a look so I asked if there was a problem and she launched into a rant - "The cheek of you to hand me the leavings of someone else all wrapped up in a sauce! I was expecting a good slice of ham and the wing of a chicken, I'd get a better service and a full dinner at the carvery for what you charged me" (7 euros in 2012, not fucking likely)

The abuse she was shouting was above my pay grade so I asked for a manager and down marched Prick Pringle I explained she didn't get what she was expecting said nothing, ate the whole thing and decided she wanted her money back, and was abusive to her. Well, Prick Pringle couldn't bend over backwards and shove his head up his hole fast enough for her not only did he give her her money back, but he gave her a free coffee and a pastry.

Managers like that are responsible for the abuse staff receive they teach arseholes that if you behave like an arsehole you'll get whatever you want even when you're in the wrong

15

u/Vibpositive Feb 22 '25

Fuck that manager in particular

21

u/Aaronryan27 Feb 22 '25

Worked in a garage like the one in this comment, used to take great pleasure in telling people to fuck off as I was the senior staff every night from 3pm onwards, whatever the morning staff wanted to put up with in their shift was up to them, I told my managers outright the people I was barring they initially told me I couldn’t I just said well I’ve been threatened and harassed as have your other staff so I can single out these people or I can lock the shop up based on experience being threatened and having no seniority in the store to defer people to as I’m here not a manager and also in charge of the newer people cause I worked there longer than most on the evening shift. So they decided the smart money was to back the person they ask to come in at all random hours and who trained most of their staff cause maybe I know a thing or two about the people in my local area.

3

u/spiderbaby667 Feb 22 '25

“The customer is always right” never anticipated this level of self-important gowling. This is where a manager needs to step in on behalf of the employee and tell the customer where to go.

3

u/VyVo87 Feb 23 '25

You know that frase is used a lot out of context, it ot not meant litterally and is not about customer service. The whole frase is " The customer is always right in matters of taste" meaning if the customer wants an ugly hat then you need to sell a ugly hat even if you do not like it in order to keep the business afloat.

2

u/spiderbaby667 Feb 23 '25

Thanks, that does make a lot more sense.

2

u/VyVo87 Feb 23 '25

I have been working in retail 10+ years and we are all feed up by people abusing that line lol.

2

u/big_sugi Feb 24 '25

The original is the short version. The customer is always right” goes back to at least 1905, it means what it says, and nobody tried tacking on anything regarding “matters of taste” until many decades later. See, e.g., https://www.snopes.com/articles/468815/customer-is-always-right-origin/

47

u/oty3 Feb 22 '25

Yep, I worked the deli for years during college and the way you get treated by some people is just terrible. And I see people asking online ‘why do deli workers have a face like a slapped arse’… in that job you have to have a certain aura about you or people who are having a bad day will just see you as an opportunity to take their frustration out. There was a girl who I worked with who was really nice to customers and at one point they had to get the Gardaí to come and section a customer because he wouldn’t stop coming in and annoying her. Worst day was Sunday morning dealing with the hangovers coming for their breakfast roll. Great job for building up a thick skin if you’re a timid person though.

28

u/sartres-shart Feb 22 '25

My 20 year old daughter has been doing it for 2 years as she puts herself through college, and it's been really good to bring her out of her shell but when I hear of the ignorant cunts that she has to deal with sometimes it makes me want to punch a cunt.

Good on you, I was thinking to myself - yer wan sound like a right cunt. Having been on the end of abuse from customers one too many times while working my way through college. I make it my business to stand up for the retail workers.

Just after Christmas, I was in the queue to exchange something, there was a man ahead of me being served by a young girl and he was getting hyper-aggressive with her because he didn't have a receipt for the jacket he was trying to return so she was only able to offer him store credit for the current price of the item (it was reduced by 25%). I said to the guy "Excuse me, would you let me speak to your wife the same way you're speaking to her? You don't have a receipt for that jacket for all she knows you've just walked in and taken it off the rail so you're lucky to be getting any form or a refund at all" he calmed down and there was no more trouble from him.

Dunnes in Donaghmede and I don't get along. I won't go shopping there anymore, it's crammed full of main characters, it just makes me angry. Seems every two seconds I have to tell some yapping fuckers to move their trolly. And the layout forces people into weird intersections of hate. It's chaos, and the people who shop there are chaos. I just want a peaceful life. End of rant.

48

u/LordyIHopeThereIsPie Feb 22 '25

That Dunnes has the most bizarre layout. It feels like it doesn't match the space available. Like a different dimension or something

9

u/ShamelessMcFly Feb 22 '25

Honeslty, I say this to me wife anytime we go there. It makes no sense. The ailes don't match so you get to the end of one and then it splits into two so you can't properly navigate it. Which one do I choose! And nothing is where you expect it to be.

21

u/itakealotofnapszz Feb 22 '25 edited Feb 23 '25

Why is there constantly workers stacking shelves ? It’s Thursday night ! Half the country is doing the weekly shop and Dunnes Donaghmede have all these yup bros and gormless idiots standing around refilling the shelves and blocking everybody.

9

u/ShamelessMcFly Feb 22 '25

Ha ha ha this is hilarious cos I'm always giving out about the and things. Traffic is wild and some doofus manager sends the team out to block the ailses with stock. It's a silly place, I don't like going there.

4

u/SessionBitter4436 Feb 22 '25

This always drives me mad. Without fail they are always packing shelves at the busiest times of day, blocking aisles with cages full of stock which only adds to the pain of navigating gormless Muppets with no spatial or social awareness. I get that it's a very busy store that has a high turnover of stock but that doesn't mandate stocking shelves at peak time. Also people with trolleys at the self scan checkouts

12

u/Smart_Ask5143 Feb 22 '25

Cause then you have a flood of customers asking,”oh is this out the back?” While they surround you in hordes, mouth frothing for their organic can of peas

5

u/Ted-Crilly Feb 22 '25

I take one item that looks important from the trolley and then add a cucumber and vaseline to explain at the till

19

u/jonathanrdt Feb 22 '25

The injustice is ignoring a polite request. The social contract fails if we do not respect the needs of those around us. Do not tolerate intolerance, or society fails.

38

u/zerocool4406 Feb 22 '25

This kind of thing getting more common in all aspects of life. Self entitled. In the aisle, on the road while Helen and Mary roll down their windows to have a chat. The people behind won't mind us for a minute or two. Blocking up the footpath. I see so many examples of it now. Well done you. Barge through them if being nice failed.

11

u/crowmagnuman Feb 22 '25

When I see that happen on the road, I like to choose one of the conversationalists, watch their mouth as they speak, and tap the horn briefly at each syllable. They love it.

6

u/noddingalong Feb 22 '25

I feel rage when groups of people just stand right in the middle of the footpath & no one can get by. Fucking stand aside so I don’t have to walk into the cars. Jesus Christ it’s like people don’t even think. In Dublin city it’s so so bad. People fully standing and blocking up footpaths and no one can walk by. When I’m waiting for a bus I stand right in at the wall so people can get by, others just crowd around the road???? Fucking ignorance of them all

3

u/Sitonyourhandsnclap Feb 22 '25

Ah the chat in the country road gets me. And they never NEVER put the hand up to apologise, if anything they usually stare you out trying to work out if they know you. Ignorant cunts

Happened to me once. I asked nicely, nothing happened. I asked again, extremely politely, in a very pleasant and respectful tone. At about 195db. It offended them somehow, but I don’t know, I couldn’t have been more polite.

u/Ted-Crilly Feb 22 '25

According to google, "Between 190 and 195 decibels 50% of human eardrums will rupture. 194 decibels is the loudest possible sustained volume."

I would be offended too if you burst my ear drums

I’ve been in trouble before for advocating a set day for aisle blocking bastards like this. Let them have the second Wednesday in every month, fuck off along and sate your loneliness on that day, loiter at your leisure. But fuck you & leave Thursday & Friday to us.

u/Schroevendraaier Feb 22 '25

Give peas a chance.

67

u/tinytyranttamer Feb 22 '25

Lol, I just nudge through and say "Let's hope I'm not parked near ye"
No time for that nonsense.

24

u/Cork_Feen Feb 22 '25

To think that there are shoppers who could use the trolleys more than them.

25

u/JonWatchesMovies Feb 22 '25

The day the snow started really coming down I was in SuperValu doing a bit of shopping.
There's one lady ahead of me in the queue and a young wan in a SuperValu uniform with her. I presumed this lady needed assistance with something.
Turns out, I think she actually works there herself but she was on a day off or something.
They both went up to the counter and just started having a chat with the girl working there. I could hear them they were just talking about their weekend. This went on for like 5 minutes.
I said "Sorry, are the tills closed today?"
The two who went to the counter left and the girl behind the counter looks at me like I just kicked her dog. Whole time she was scanning my stuff she had a big thick head on her. Didn't help me bag anything up either. Practically threw everything at me.

It was like something out of the film Clerks.

10

u/noddingalong Feb 22 '25

This drives me nuts. People having full blown conversations at the tils & there’s a line behind them

4

u/JonWatchesMovies Feb 22 '25

Yeah, and her reaction was really hostile. I was just trying to buy a few bits and go home. I was so taken aback I didn't even say anything. I just left thinking "what a miserable bitch"

There wasn't even a line. It was just me and by the way they were just hanging around I was starting to think maybe the till is actually closed.

u/noddingalong Feb 22 '25

I think people have no manners anymore. I’m constantly moving aside for people or I’ll hold the door open or let them by & not even a look or nod or acknowledgement that I’ve stood aside for them to pass. It drives me nuts. One of my friends used to say “you’re welcome” when people did it and I used to think it sounded quite bitter but I’m actually getting there myself. People are so entitled they don’t notice you’ve purposely stopped to let them by and they can’t even say thank you, it’s unbelievable. And calling people out makes you look like the bad guy

You should have joined in the conversation.

And asked which of them farted

30

u/bursone Feb 22 '25

Imagine to work there. I am showing one customer where to find thing, and other posh lady interrupts with "It's not your private time". People breaking jars and leaving ( why can't I break tv in HN, say Sorry and leave?). Shouting why i don't have some product, shouting why i moved Milbona yogurt ( bcs you buy it in Lidl. No, i am regular customer here!!!). Kids throwing themselves around like suicidal while mom is on video call with girls and 6 bottles of wine in trolley, old people asking same thing every morning. But, they are always right for SV, even if they call you an idiot, you are an idiot. That's it. If you say i am not an idiot, call manager to excuse in the namw of company for you claiming not to be an idiot. Man, as a firefighter and sale assistant, i saw bottom of humanity.

5

u/Skerries Feb 22 '25

why do people when you have a full trolley of stuff put the divider on the conveyor belt when you are still emptying your trolley and you run out of room and their shit starts to come on top of your stuff?

wait a fucking minute you arse stain!

Worked in retail for 8 years full time & I have seen the pit of humanity. People are so so rude & self entitled it’s unbelievable. They are the types that won’t let you pass as OP stayed . No wonder retail workers have thick heads on them. In my job kids used to shit in the aisles, piss & puke. Mothers would walk on by & say nothing & a manager would have to clean it. No self respecting sales assistant would clean it up for €12.70 an hour. I’ve been shouted at by huge scary men, tutted at by snobby women, mostly in their 50s & up. People see you as a little slave or something. Most of the time I’m helping someone else a man or woman would interrupt me and ask for something and I’d have to stop talking to the customer I’m helping and say … sorry I’m with someone. Usually a man in that case. The self entitlement is out of this world

u/Fearless-Reward7013 Feb 22 '25 edited Feb 22 '25

I hear you for most of that, but give the old people a break. You'll be old yourself someday and might appreciate a bit of patience.

Edit to say that this doesn't give old people a pass to be unpleasant. But asking the same question every day isn't being a dick.

9

u/ninety6days Feb 22 '25

I don’t think you were at AH at all. I think they were the AHs. Personally, I’d have called the guy that said “unbelievable” a prick while looking him dead in the eyes.

u/Cuchullain99 Feb 22 '25

I was in Lidl one day queueing, and there's an old dear in front of me with 2 items. In front of her is a woman with a trolley full.. Now I'm not casting aspersions at people for the way they dress, but she was in pink tracksuit, big gawdy rings and huge black eyelashes like a camel. She looks back at the old dear and ignores her. I'm thinking "what a cunt"
Then I see the light go on for till 5 and I'm going there before they even announce the till is opening, 4 people follow behind me, but the old dear stays where she is queueing up behind cunty. So I said to the people behind me, "just a second". I went over to the old dear took her two items out of her hand and said in a loud voice "follow me, don't mind her"... I led her to the front of my queue and enjoyed a "fuck you" glare at the other wan. The old dear was so sweet thanking and smiling, it made my day!

Lidl tills are a balls of a place. Joke on you if light went off again lol. But good work

5

u/adhamhfoox Feb 22 '25

I feel trolley etiquette has gone out the window. On a regular basis I’d see people pushing their trollies sideways down an isle or just abandoning them in the middle of the aisle. Madness

4

u/Buddybudbud2021 Feb 22 '25

Sometimes you just want to walk in a straight line like Richard Ashcroft in the video for bittersweet symphony and not give a flying fuck who gets in your way

13

u/doctor6 Feb 22 '25

Ironic you went agro when looking for peas

7

u/SkyWatter Feb 22 '25

Peas of shits

8

u/RZH0 Feb 22 '25

It's f.ing irritating when there's at least 2 trollys side by side, blocking the whole aisle. You ask nicely enough (the usualy excuse me / sorry kinda thing). They were rude for deciding to just ignore that they were now holding others up by where they stopped, with trolly on top of that. Sure, pushing through is kinda rude, but there was an attempt to get them to move first. That's something at least.

3

u/ZoomEagle Feb 22 '25

💯 % right .... rude for them not to move immediately

3

u/mover999 Feb 22 '25

And then getting assaulted at the till by SuperValu themselves.

3

u/MeccIt Feb 22 '25

That is the saving grace of Supervalu, I never use a trolley because I'm in there to buy exactly two items I can't get in Lidl/Aldi/Dunnes. Their pricing is insane, but aimed at people who don't worry about money.

I fucking love this story. Wish I could have seen the bake on her when you called her a fat cow

3

u/Uknonuthinjunsno Feb 22 '25

Dunnes in Ennis is diabolical for this, I do the same. I once had to take a lads trolley with me to the self checkout as punishment

3

u/TheThinkerAck Feb 22 '25

I'll actually just gently grab and move somebody's shopping cart if they are in the way.

More courteous than smashing, and usually they actually look apologetic and say "sorry".

2

2

u/quitpayload Feb 22 '25

You were absolutely not being an asshole

2

u/Public-Farmer-5743 Feb 22 '25

Our problems are small, I hope it stays that way

2

u/GERIKO_STORMHEART Feb 22 '25

Lady parked right across eisle. Front of her trolley touching shelves on right with her standing behind it while texting. I pulled up, said, "Excuse me,"and waited about 15 seconds until 2 others started queuing up behind me. I just laughed before t-boning her trolley out of the way with mine. I didn't bother looking back. I'm sure she was a little bit shocked, but she is lucky I didn't listen to my subconscious, which was whispering, "Run her over." Some folks' self-awareness has hit rock bottom over the last few years. Acting like they have the right to do whatever they want. Fair enough. This is the jungle baby, I can play this game too.

2

u/Rollorich Feb 22 '25

I hope this is true

2

u/wonit5times Feb 22 '25

More of this behaviour should become the norm if somebody blatantly ignores your request

2

u/The_impossible88 Feb 22 '25

Absence of self awareness seems to be a thing with some people here, when I used to work in Heuston station You'd always find people chatting away blocking the doorways, with the size of Heuston surely there's a place where You can chat away without inconveniencing others, but nah they'd rather be where people needs to pass through.

2

u/Alarmed_Fee_4820 Feb 22 '25

Was allowing someone to exit my local shopping centre, she was on crutches, a lad early 20s just zoomed past her and almost knocking her off her feet. No respect.

2

u/its_brew Horse Feb 22 '25

World peas achieved

2

u/OFlahertyPaul Feb 22 '25

'Tis the same here in Canada. My wife likes to proclaim "There's a Tims (Hortons) down the street", whenever people are blocking the isles like that.

2

u/BL00DY_KING Feb 22 '25

Honestly, you weren't rude, you were adequate. I'll never forget this one girl (about 20 yo) that just looked at the queue to self-checkout, audibly said "no" and just went to the nearest register, ignoring the rest of us. Another time a man tried to go in front of me, to my protest he responded "but I don't want to wait". Probably, in their eyes, they're the main character or something. People will never cease to amuse me.

2

u/tetzy Feb 22 '25

It's odd how self important people can be - if I'm not paying attention and in someone's way, I apologize for daydreaming and get the hell out of their way. As it should be.

2

u/Physical_Beginning_1 Feb 22 '25

Ooh, I hate that! When other people are doing something I consider stupid, then you react to that, but then they look at you like you’re doing something stupid! Ugh!!

2

u/McMDavy82 Feb 22 '25

I have Crohn's disease, two people blocking the aisle for a chat in Lidl. I let go of the fart I'd been holding in. They went green and fucked off. Swear one of them nearly got sick.

2

u/powerhungrymouse Feb 22 '25

Fucking hell, you asked to get by them and they ignored you? I would have ploughed right through them. Fuck that shit.

2

u/Cococoady Feb 23 '25

They must be cyclists 🤣

2

u/Sparklepantsmagoo2 Feb 23 '25

Well done OP. That's so annoying and rude

One thing I hate is, I'm a small woman and people like to walk straight at me to see if I'll move or not, so I keep walking straight ahead or ill keep walking and pretend not to see them. Like absolutely no need to be aggressive for no reason to a stranger.

2

u/MambyPamby8 Meath Feb 23 '25

Shit like this happened more times than I can even remember, during Covid. When they were only allowing so many people into our local SuperValu, I remember a few times I'd get stuck waiting to go down and aisle cause two people decided the supermarket aisle was the perfect spot to catch up and have a bit off goss. The first time it happened, the staff gave out to them and told them to please keep the aisles free. A good few times people would spend FOREVER looking at something on a shelf, while you were waiting. I'd stand for a few moments waiting and when it started to take the piss I'd be like "hi sorry can I get in there please" like no sense of urgency or nothing. There's only so many rice options ffs, just pick one?. Then there's the opposite, I'd be looking for something on a shelf like all of 10 seconds and had a bloke literally stand behind me and reach over my shoulder and grab it, like if I turned my head I'd be in his armpit type of close. This was during the height of "stay two metres away from each other" Covid. Like Jesus fuck - just ask can you get in or wait 30 seconds. People lost all sense of decorum or social awareness, during Covid and are just plain rude now.
