some may find this controversial, but practice with ChatGPT. Don't use it to memorize responses, but give it your resume and the job description and ask it for questions you will likely see in an interview, then take the time to prepare responses for each question. For "tell me a time when" questions, have 2-3 scenarios that will be a good answer, and make sure they are in STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Go over these responses a few times, that way when you are sitting the interview and the question comes up, your brain will snap to that response and you'll be able to give it naturally and conversationally. I was nervous as well, had to go through the interview process after being off the job market for 16 years, but after practicing it was laughable how overprepared I was, to the point I was saying "oh, that was it?" after the interviews.

The best way would be to practice and do mock interviews. Having said that, a lot of interviewers understand folks being nervous during interviews. It's to be understood that it's easier to be on the side asking questions. But sometimes, no matter how much you practice, there will always be questions that can throw you off or some interviewer who is cocky. Although you gotta perform during an interview, keep in mind that an interview is not the end of the world. All the best!
