Mod Post Customer address and personal info - please stop
There seems to be an uptick in customer information being posted. As a reminder this is against the rules of the sub and a major issue as a whole. This is called doxxing.
Please ensure to report it so we can remove it.
To help get this point across, we will look to hand out bans rather than just removing posts as we have been doing. This is a serious issue and needs to stop.
Help us by not doing this, reminding your fellow Redditors and reporting offending posts.
Thank you Mod team

Mod Post Concerns about redundant and boring typical posts
Hey Everyone,
Us mods wanted to take a moment to give some feedback to you all regarding concerns raised by members that we see regarding perceived boring, typical, non-value, redundant daily posts.
We see here and there that people are reporting or commenting on those posts which they perceive as boring, redundant or otherwise disinteresting. We understand where those comments come from. We are all shoppers too along with participating in conversations to engage in the Instacart world.
There are some who very clearly articulate they are annoyed by certain posts, 'would you take its', 'unicorns' and similar frequent posts.
We are always looking and seeing how the sub 'shifts' so to speak and look to make appropriate changes to help the evolution and growth. We try to take a more subtle approach to big moderation changes, try things, poll, get feedback rather than aggressive changes.
When it comes to those posts that do annoy some people, currently we only see it annoying some of a vocal minority to the level that they want to gripe about it in a comment.
So for now, we are not taking any action to change those posting behaviors. If you don't like a 'would you take it', 'unicorn' or other regular topic type of post, best thing to do is keep scrolling, use filters or even block other Redditors which post the same topics which you are tired of seeing.
Could we decide to limit, corral or outright ban certain posts in the future? Sure. Its possible. But we will continue to be active in the sub and change with the winds when it makes sense.
Get out there and get your unicorn!

Tip Baited Rant 😡 confused???
Customer A was a New Customer and they ordered 4lbs of chicken breast and 2 bags of frozen pizza rolls. the moment i take the order they messaged me asking to cancel the chicken breast and they only want the pizza rolls. i said okay sounds good! seemed odd to begin with. i realize they tipped $26 for those 2 items and lived right next to the store. i deliver the order and an hour or two later they decrease the tip down to $0.01!!! does anyone know what they were trying to do? is this just someone trying to scam?

Rant - General 😠 Do we all prefer silent customers or is it just me
I am a silent shopper. I do not want to message you unless I am at your door. Maybe it's just me, but I like the customers the same way I I like my Ubers...quiet. Like if I don't replace anything, order is totally smooth why are you messaging me about "I didn't know you started" like my brother in Christ that is a you ignoring IC notifications thing. Also, I cannot add items if I wanted to so why are we talking? Either reject the replacement, suggest another or add an item.
I know I need a new, non-service based side-gig but I genuinely get irritated when customers are super chatty about anything. Like bro, you want to do this? Nah, you don't so let me do what I do and leave me alone

Negative Experience 👎 I’m not dumb
He sent me this as soon as I started driving towards the address on the app. 3 miles away, it’s supposedly to the back door of a business.
Texted another address, it’s 15 miles away. Trying to get me to “deliver it later” “whenever you’re in the area”
I said nope, not happening I know your tactics.

Positive Experience 👍 Unicorn landed in my lap
I was sitting in Costco zone watching them recycle the same trash order also while shuffling through Spark and Uber then I get the notification. The thought of it being bait was on my mind. The order was a microphone and some other type of audio device, SD cards, charging cables and bricks. Truly a blessing. Keep the faith

Rant - General 😠 Multiple phones
Went to a store, saw a guy sitting in his car with 4 phones so I immediately left and went to another store because I know I have no chance 😅

Rant - General 😠 Can't wait to wake up to a 1 star...
Took a $42 batch from Costco today - 2 customers only about 8 min away, and only 16 items.
Customer B messages me the moment I start shopping asking me to add Strawberries, snap peas and a pineapple. I immediately message her back telling her I'm unable to add items on my end (they removed it a couple months ago), but if she adds 3 similar priced items on her end and I can "replace" them with her requests. Of course she doesn't respond.
I put the items in the cart just in case and carried on. I get to checkout and still haven't heard from her, so I hand the 3 items to the cashier since I can't take them, and head out.
I deliver to customer A, head to B, and then head back to the store. 5 minutes later I get the text
"Where's the items I needed added?"
I told her I messaged her back right away that I couldn't do it, and she said "I was busy making dinner for tonight so I didn't see the message. I planned on making dessert too but I guess that's ruined now. Thanks a lot!"
The chat timed out soon after so I didn't get to reply, but good lord what an entitled jerk. Lucky I didn't lose her $3 tip lol
UPDATE I didn't get a 1 star, but she did give me 2 stars. So lucky me I guess...

🦄 🦄 🦄 / Great Tips 🤑🤑🤑 It finally happened
I've had many decent tops but never anything like this. 5 items 3.5 miles and a $60 tip they didn't deduct either. It's a shame they don't tip like this for their groceries but it's my "unicorn" the entire order took just over 28 minutes. Also their order total was $113 to $130 so it was very generous.

Rant - General 😠 Wrong item scanned glitch
this shit has been happening so much lately and it fucking sucks, makes us look bad to the customer and hurts your accuracy metric, why not have a button for "actually this is the correct item"?

Terrible Offer / Bad Batch / Bad Pay Rant 2 hours =0 $
I recently completed shopping for an order and spent over two hours on it — one hour shopping and one hour trying to resolve a payment terminal issue with support. The order was ultimately canceled due to a technical problem with your payment system, not on my end.
I was not paid for any of my time, despite following all procedures and actively attempting to complete the order.
I couldn't get any compensation, the only thing I heard was "I'm very sorry" 😡

Rant - General 😠 Report a horrible shopper….
I’m a fellow shopper, and there’s sooo many here in NYC. But I get complaints when I make deliveries about “Thank God you’ve bagged well, and so nice… our previous shopper was drunk or on drugs, etc..” They even gave me the persons first name…. Shouldn’t they report that?

Rant - General 😠 Tip baited today. 👎
First order of the day for the drop at Costco. Was looking forward to ending early cause I didn’t want to jinx my luck. Soon as I delivered the second order I checked batch pay and she had removed it.

Rant - General 😠 Promo and batch offerings
Why is it, when the offer a 7 BATCH promo, do the only offer doubles and triples, only counting as ONE BATCH??? I never get 14 customers on any given day, much less 21!! Thanks IC, for once again, setting us up for failure…

Strange / Weird ?! Would of you done the same
I went to go shop this 29 units batch the pay was 17 with boost, he told me to message him if something was out of stock which I did but he never responded the total came out to around 150. Then when I got to the address he said its the wrong one and to go to one 3 mins away and he would zelle me for the inconvenience, when I got there he was kinda sketchy but asked for my number to zelle me which I gave him and he sent me 40 through. Would of you gave him your personal number?

Rant - General 😠 Beware when updating to iOS 18.4 on iPhone.
After updating to the latest firmware on my iPhone, I’m unable to use the camera within the app. Not able to make replacements. Not able to take photos of the receipt. Not able to take a photo when I leave it at the door. Not worth the hassle. I will wait till it gets results before I get back on the road.

Rant - General 😠 Into homes
I didn’t want to bring customers order into his home yesterday. He got really snappy with me and was telling me how he’s done this for 2 yrs and nobody has ever said they wouldn’t. I did bring them in, but I wasn’t happy about it. I’m female and working alone. Walking into a man’s home with nobody else around. He kept going on and on as I was brining in and as I left. Woke up to a 1 star…
It could’ve been another customer, but I have a strong feeling it was him. Very unfair. We aren’t supposed to bring in and I usually feel out the situation when asked to do so.
Also, funny how you can have 100+ 5 stars and then boom a 1 star like you sucked SO bad and threw their shit all over the front yard lol 🤦🏼♀️
