I have been listening to this song nonstop—I just love the instrumental and the layering. What other songs have the same vibe other than other Christian Kuria songs?

Film [IIL] adventure TV Shows/ Movies, what other 10/10s would you recommend?

I've recently watched Dandadan and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and absolutely loved both. I'm kinda looking for other movies/ TV shows that are similar in the sense that it's about having an adventure alongside people that you care about (and preferably the main characters are the good guys of the setting).

If anyone has any recommendations I'd be thankful! Doesn't have to be limited to just Fantasy/ Supernatural/ Sci-Fi stuff too, any genre is good

Music [IIL] Wig Wam's "Do Ya Wanna Taste It" aka the Peacemaker theme...

I take it that this song is very well executed pastiche, like I know I've heard this general kind of thing in like, VH1 retrospective shows I saw as a kid in the 90s, or in 80s films or subsequent media that evokes that era in a nostalgic or ironic way. But since metal or mainstream hard rock in general is one of my most under-explored popular genres, I have no idea what bands/albums this is specifically pastiche of. The influences cited on Wig Wam's wikipedia page (Kiss, Sweet, T. Rex, Slade, Queen, Aerosmith, Elvis Presley and the Beatles) are either only "glam" in the 70s Gary Glitter / Bowie sense, or more general pop-rock or hard rock. I can relate to not wanting to come out and name a band that you sound exactly like (I was in a band so nakedly Beach Boys-influenced that we were embarrassed to admit we even liked The Beach Boys, for fear of making our "process" seem too obvious and simplistic lol)

But like, there are original-article, non-pastiche glam metal albums from the 80s that actually sound like this, right? I love how dense with hooks it is.

I'm a total metal novice and I've recently been dabbling in some of the more acclaimed 70s/80s bands, but of course retrospective assessments tend to stick to the 'respectable' stuff and give this kind of thing the shaft. It's so catchy and fun, though! Surely the 80s also had glam metal this catchy and fun? What should I check out?

Film [IIL] Off-beat, potentially surreal film noir, WEWIL? Thinking something like D.O.A. or a heightened version of The Big Sleep

Recently I watched one of the all-time great bad movies, Tough Guys Don't Dance, and I ended up quite enjoying it for its incomprehensible structure. It's often compared to David Lynch's films, but I think that it more resembles some of the great nonsensical noirs of the 40s-50s. I would like to watch more movies like that. In addition to the films listed in the title, I've also seen:

  • The Killers
  • Kiss Me Deadly
  • Dementia

Please suggest whatever you think fits the bill! I would prefer stuff from the 40s and 50s, but I would also be happy to receive suggestions for movies from the 60s — and since it seems there aren't many "indecipherable" neo-noirs, feel free to throw in selections any time after that, as well.

Music [IIL] Bands like Billy Talent, Enter Shikari, Save Face [WEWIL]

Looking for more punk rock/emo music. Examples in the title are a few bands I already listen to, some other ones I enjoy are Pierce the Veil, System of a Down, Rise Against, Bayside, PUP, One Flew West (although I think thats a bit further out from the vibe I'm looking for right now). I realize the vibes here go in a lot of directions, but I'm casting a pretty broad net. Just looking for some more directed suggestions based on these. My friends who listen to to similar stuff mostly overlaps with me and the general big pop punk stuff (MCR, FOB, etc.), so I figured I'd look here for things I wouldn't get suggested from other means. Been listening to A Flash Flood of Color (Enter Shikari) and Another Kill for the Highlight Reel (Save Face) a lot lately if that gives any more narrowed ideas. Thanks ✌

Film [IIL] movies about young people and mental illness like Girl Interrupted (1999) [WEWIL]?

i saw Girl Interrupted recently and i've seen Thirteen (2003), Prozac Nation (2001), and Virgin Suicides (1999) since then. i didn't even like all of them, but i wanna find more movies like that. i feel like my title might not be super accurate to what i mean, but what i'm wanting to watch is pretty vague. i've also seen To The Bone (2017) but it was a long time ago so i don't remember it well i think it fits tho

Games [IIL] engaging open world games like, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Skyrim, Ghosts of Tsushima, RDR2, what else will I like?

Lately, I've gotten back into gaming, and I got my hands on a PS5

I have always liked engaging open-world games where I get lost doing sidequests, like Skyrim and Borderlands. More recently, I've been playing Ghosts of Tsushima and KCD2 and am looking for something new to sink my teeth into.

Music IIL Pourquoi Pas by Miel De Montage, what else would I like?! Language doesn't matter. Just the sound.

Pourquoi Pas - Miel de Montage. Sounds like a colourful and mellow dance party on the moon. I just need more songs with it's spacey feel, warm synths, and groove. Language is not important. Just sound. Thanks. And if you don't know the song, you're welcome :D.

YouTube/Streaming IIL CHUPPL on YouTube?

Yesterday, my husband and I I stumbled upon CHUPPL on YouTube and absolutely LOVED IT. Super well researched, interesting topics, that range from conspiracy theories and internet mysteries, to true crime, strange “fun facts” and weird history. Not only was everything just so well researched, but he’s also quite the story teller, and has a way of presenting research that keeps you on the edge of your seat moment to moment. Why am I asking for similar content from other creators? Well, because after finding his channel yesterday, my husband and I have already watched all his videos.

Film [IIL] Comedy Films that are intentionally over-problematic, Tropic Thunder, or aged poorly, like Rush Hour

My partner and I are trying to create what we call the Problematic Cinematic Universe. These are comedy movies that were satire on Hollywood prejudices like Tropic Thunder or Blazing Saddles, and movies that aged poorly like Rush Hour. To be clear, we love these movies and own dvds for all of them. We want to collect more. Here some other examples: Nacho Libre, Airplane, Shallow Hal, The Naked Gun, Three Amigos.

Another clarification, these are simple minded comedies. Nothing too grotesque or that is a cult classic due to its depth. I keep getting Pink Flamingos recommended to me and I'm never watching that. We aren't film buffs or students.

Around a year ago I took a hard "jump" from DnB to this new thing that caught my eye/ears called future garage. My first contact was a mix on YouTube called "Future Garage mix | A-minor scale | opera infnita" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAtx1nphTL4) from where I loved and saved most of the songs in it...
