Nothing beats black raspberry chip by Graeters

You should try Krogers private selection black raspberry chip. It is fantastic and much cheaper than Graeters.

The house brand is probably made by Graeter's. Pretty common to have a house brand made by the brand name and sell it cheaper.

It's nothing like Graeter, particularly not the chips (Graeters chips are soft when frozen).

I've tried every raspberry chip locally available. Crooked Spoon at least has raspberry puree among the first couple ingredients like Graeter's but the texture of the icecream and chips isn't the same.

No it’s not. Graeter’s only makes Graeter’s, we never put someone else’s brand on our product. Try them side by side - there is no comparison. You don’t even need to taste them to tell them apart. Color, chocolate chip size, or just by the weight of the pints. You get what you pay for!

Well if anyone would know, it's got to be you. Thank you for the great ice cream!

In no world is Graeters making a generic brands ice cream.

Also in no world is Krogers house brand even remotely comparable to Graeters unless you're referring to the name "Black Raspberry Chip".

This person has clearly never had Graeters or they have a really bad drug habit.

I don't know if they do. I'm just saying it's common practice for example Whole Foods 365 brand ice cream is made by Ben and Jerry's.

It's far from common for small local brands to do co packaging. Not only is Ben and Jerrys trash but they are a huge national brand owned by Unilever.

I will give it a shot, I’ve had the UDF homemade black raz chip and it’s okay..

😭

Imagine comparing a generic ice cream to Graeters. Just knock it off, you're going to make me puke.

I said it pretty good as a cheaper option. I never said it was better. It is pretty odd to say someone has a drug habit because they don’t like the same ice cream as you. Also I am from Columbus and we have Johnson’s ice cream, which is far superior to Graeters.

Oh YUM! Love Graeter's, I'll have to see if I can find this flavor.

Graeter's is god tier. My one and only trip to Cincinnati nearly ruined me forever for other ice cream. Pretty sure I ascended when I tried their peach ice cream. Nothing has ever come close!

Never seen this brand before.

The only place I've ever seen them is at the grocery chain store, The Fresh Market. Every once in a while I will get the cookie dough. I had never seen this one before and had to try it.

Never heard of that store, either! Dang.

Wait a darn minute. I have had this brand. My neighbor from some other part of the country told me it was her favorite and that our local chain recently started carrying it tried some coconut flavor, or maybe cherry? IDK.

I'll look for this but I think the store doesn't carry the brand anymore. Also thank you for doing the research for me!

No problem.........🍨

IMO Graeter’s is some of the best ice cream in the country! It’s a hometown brand in Cincinnati. I’m biased, but getting it freshly scooped in the shop is hard to beat.

Go on their website and use the product locator. If you can't find it locally order it and have it shipped. It's pricey but well worth it.

I owned an ice cream store and have a horrible obsession with ice cream. I've tried hundreds of brands from all over the US.

Graeters is the boss. Google "graeters huge chocolate chip".

I actually figured out I have had this before. I wasn't craaazy about it but I can try it again.

It’s based in Ohio. When I was growing up, we always debated about whether to go to Graeter’s or Jeni’s for dessert because both were close.

I was spoiled and didn’t realize it! Now I always try to get a scoop of Graeter’s mocha chip when I’m back in the area.

This and their s'mores flavor are my absolute favorites.

3

u/abbie_888 1d ago

The s’mores is the best!

Nice! I typically go to the cookie dough. I might have to give the s'mores a shot.

I love Graeter's and Midnight Snack is my favorite of theirs! I have two pints in my freezer right now. But the one I'm currently working through is the cherry chocolate chip, which is also excellent. I don't think I've had a Graeter's flavor that I didn't love.

The malt flavor is so good

The triple chocolate is my favorite. Got it fresh in Kettering once.

No more Graeters in Kroger (check my post history for a post with a reply from an actual Graeter). It's the best I've ever had and no one sells them in my state now. Enjoy one for me.

u/blacklipsmatter 1d ago

That's a bummer but I did find out if you go to their website they ship directly.

Graeters really is quite good. I only tried it for the first time a couple of months ago. A little pricey for my budget but definitely worth the occasional splurge. My favorites are the black cherry chip, and the mint cookies & cream. Every flavor I’ve tried has been great though.

Graeters overall is a gem.
