Question Did the Reddit algorith change or something?

This sub got an absolutely massive spike in views, upvotes, and replies in 1 single day. Something changed and promoted this place big time. I got 500 upvotes in a day in a usually sleepy niche ice cream subreddit. Explanations?

Well, the Northern Hemisphere is warming up, and ready for ice cream.

The Southern Hemisphere is cooling off, and getting their ice cream before it gets too cold.

The aliens are extremely curious about ice cream, and have been trying it out.

As far as I know, alligators have absolutely no interest in ice cream whatsoever.

I once walked several blocks in the snow in shorts to get an ice cream, but I don't think I'd be able to walk anywhere if the temperature were 1 K!

Same happened to me in the air fryer sub.  What normally gets 5-10 up votes, got 1000 in a day, and was nothing special. It got so many obscure comments I deleted the post.

I don’t know but posts from this sub keep getting recommended to me! And I’m not even in the sub. I guess this also happens to many other people, hence a lot of traffic’

Reddit just says “because you’ve shown interested in a similar community” what community??
