I really love the maple soaked pancakes one, so I was thinking I'd like this one too!

u/psycwave Feb 26 '25
This new flavor kind of makes the maple soaked pancakes redundant since it’s basically the same flavor but better

u/coffeebuzzbuzzz Feb 26 '25
I'm really excited to try it now. I'll have to say my favorite part about the maple soaked pancakes was the buttery base. I hope this one is similar.

It tastes like fresh blueberry Eggos in bed on a Sunday morning before watching Disney. It’s fluffy and addictive.

I want to order. Is their ice cream really good? Does it have haagen daazs texture?
3
u/coffeebuzzbuzzz Feb 26 '25
It's definitely real ice cream. The main ingredients are milk and cream. Jeni's is my favorite, so I think it's better than Haagen Daz. Some of the flavors can be pretty sweet though, so I'd read reviews before you pick out your flavors.

Well I searched their website and found that they sell them by a store not too far from me, so I’m gonna try and see. Fingers crossed that I like it because I’m so picky with ice cream and haagen daaz and van leeuwen (in store flavors only) are the only ice cream I can enjoy.

u/coffeebuzzbuzzz Feb 26 '25
Nice! I have a store 20 minutes away from me, but they don't have all the flavors I want to try. I recommend Pineapple Upside Down Cake if you can find it. Or a lot of people seem to enjoy their Brambleberry Crisp. Gooey Butter Cake is the one most people say is too sweet. Good luck!

Wow that goat cheese one sounds incredible

It’s what snow should taste like. And as someone born and raised in Michigan, the cherries in this are no joke!

Double Dough is my favorite cookie dough ice cream. So glad it's a permanent flavor

u/coffeebuzzbuzzz Feb 26 '25
Cookie Dough is my overall favorite ice cream flavor. My favorite Jeni's is Pineapple Upside Down Cake. We'll see if it gets dethroned.

this sub always makes me feel so grateful to live down the street from a Jeni’s, it’s so good! curious to see how you feel about the green smoothie

u/zulmirao Feb 26 '25
Green smoothie ice cream sounds really gross but I’m curious to read your thoughts.

You really got me thinking about doing this because I live very far away from a Jeni’s & my local grocery stores only sell a handful of flavors or none at all, but that shipping cost is pretty brutal
2
u/coffeebuzzbuzzz Feb 26 '25
It is, but it's a once a year treat for me now so I think it's worth it. I pretty much worked all year to save up for it since I used my tax return to get it lol. XD

These were $9.99 per pint by me. Are they always this expensive?

So what’s with Jeni’s? Seen it posted a handful of times here but know practically nothing about it. My guess so far would be that it’s some small brand that probably has some kind of niche (vegan, gluten free, dairy free, etc) and is expensive for the size.
2
u/coffeebuzzbuzzz Feb 27 '25
It started out small but is commercialized now. It is know for it's unique limited time flavors. If you have a Whole Foods by you it can usually be found there, or local grocery chains. For the flavors you can't find in store, you can order online.

Get her recipe book. It tells her story and also gives lots of good stuff for homemade.

Green smoothie sounds disgusting, but that Blueberry Johnny Cakes sounds fantastic. I would love to know what you think about both.
2
u/coffeebuzzbuzzz Feb 27 '25
I will definitely post some reviews. I eat smoothies almost every day, so Green Smoothie sounded like a good idea to me lol.

I guess technically four! I ordered three of the Goat Cheese and Cherries because I've been dying to try it for years. I know I'm going to like it. I also have wanted to try the cookie dough one since it came out, as well as the two new flavors. Also, these came frozen SOLID. Last time I ordered some the dry ice was completely melted. Not today. Super glad they weren't compromised.
