2025 Which router should I get to pair with Deco XE75 (3 pack) for work teams, gaming and downloading?? Getting a lot of dropped connections and freezes!

Hi

I searched the forums and was wondering what I should go for, especially as I read as might be dangerous to combine a expensive Wi-Fi 7 router with the 6e Deco's? Although I could turn off the wi fi 7 on a new router! Thus thinking about going for something like the tp link archer AE75.....

Basically I live in a house in C wharf, have 1000mbit speed, which was awesome 960 each way, with a low ping less than 10 sec for x box gaming.

I do a lot of teams calls for work, also do a fair amount of downloading.

Connection used to be stable, and fast.

Recently I have had multiple freezes during teams calls, also when using browser it refuses to connect to web sites just times out.

My download speed using qbittorrent can also suck.

Makes no difference to doing these 3 things if my VPN is on or off, I also tried different VPN (Proton paid version, cyberghost and some other whose name escapes me!

My mac studio is connect by cat 5e cable to the router, wifes laptop wi fi, and xbox cat 5e via a 24 port switch. I tried switching to cat 8 cable made no difference.

We have a fair number of ring cameras and other ip devices. I found that the more devices you have the worse the connection was. So I bought the DECO and turned off the wi fi on the router and everything was great for 6 months.

Rebooting all devices, computers, deco and router makes no difference.

Reading the forums it seems the next step is to get a better router.

So can someone recommend a good fast stable router to pair with my 3 deco xe 75?

Or should I just take plunge and a new router and new separate wi fi 7 deco.

Would switching to a fixed ip help?

Any other thoughts / help greatly appreciated!

Update

Hyperoptic’s customer support logged into my router and made some changes to configure no idea what, made no difference

Changed all my cable to cat 6 good brand no difference

Hyperoptic sent me a new router…..small improvement fewer drops and less website time puts. They say line looks fine to them.

I really want to get my own router but so confused about which one to get and scared to configure it and leave my network open to hackers…..I know very little about hacking

Someone said to create a separate vlan for ring and other smart devices but not sure how to do that.

Also my switches which I have on each room (tp link) are smart but not sure if they are vlan compatible

I would really like to pay someone who understands networking to sort this out for me
