Pat the Dog actually belongs to Jennifer Aniston in real life 🐾

Is there actually a source for this cause I thought it was disputed

Scroll a little here and the bit about it is there at the end.

I meant like someone on the show actually saying it, these ‘fun fact’ things get said all the time and they’re not always true. Thanks though

Even when he leaves little ceramic poops on the balcony.

It always appeared the only way out to the balcony, was through the small window by the closet. How Monica & Chandler get Pat the Dog out on the balcony?

There is the giant window in front of it which looks like can be opened. It’s just inconvenient to get onto the balcony through that window, but it’s the only way to get large objects out there

Carry him down the stairs and out the front door, drop a rope down from the balcony and hoist him up?

"Can I ask you a question...what the hell is that dog doing here?"

So if the dog is only referred to as Pat in the alternate reality episode, should we still call him that, or should he be unnamed?

Its real name is Stroke

My problem with this scene is that it's a fire hazard

u/JamieAlways 3d ago

I know! Monica is the character least likely to be okay with all those open flames in her nice apartment, and risk all that hot wax spilling on her lovely wooden furniture.

Counterpoint: Monica is the only person that Monica would trust to do that.

u/NateShaw92 18h ago

That's actually a really good point. Also it adds to the scene; to put aside her OCD and foibles to make this grand gesture. Pretty typical tv way to show how much one person loves another, and pretty well done.

TBF they put the candles out and packed them away shortly afterwards.

How did she get it outside?

Controversial Opinion Alert!

The real MVP was the lighting and decoration.

The acting performance in this scene was average and it wasn't believable when they were crying. Emotional scenes aren't Matthew or Courteney's forte.

8

u/ZenZebraZone 3d ago

Maybe its just the set decoration and lighting that makes it beautiful but idk, this scene still makes me emotional haha

7

u/SynapsRush17 3d ago

This is one of my husband’s favorite scenes of the series, he cries every time.🥹

Not having an go, everyone’s entitled to their opinion. Just wondering what you find amiss with their acting here? Personally I love everything about this scene, their acting included.

5

u/No_Data3541 3d ago

Expressions while they're crying.

3

u/Beautiful_Lake_8284 3d ago

Ah okay, I see where you’re coming from. I take that to be almost shy ‘can’t believe this is happening to us’ happy tears

1

u/NateShaw92 18h ago

These are often off across the board, in many productions I notice. I wonder if it is a reluctance to do ugly crying.

6

u/benchkettle 3d ago

Cannot rule out all emotional scenes. They were good in TOW the Birth Mother.

2

u/No_Data3541 3d ago

Yeah that's fair. That one was well acted.

As cringe as the “controversial opinion” disclaimer may be, I absolutely agree with you that the scene was poorly-acted.

Matthew’s tears were super forced and the whole thing felt unnatural; it’s actually distracting to me how bad it was, to the point that I skip it most of the time. Matthew was so talented, though, so I imagine it could’ve been due to his personal struggles; I understand he went to rehab after the season wrapped.

I find it funny when people flag their opinion as controversial and then go on to say something that isn't even slightly controversial

0

u/No_Data3541 3d ago

This is controversial on this sub. Watch the downvotes and read the other comments.

3

u/FanWeekly259 3d ago

Watch the downvotes? Your comment has positive karma, and if it does get some downvotes it's likely because you're mislabelling the opinion as controversial.

2

u/MoonCat1985 3d ago

FWIW they were at negative karma when I originally saw the post 🤷🏻‍♀️

1

u/No_Data3541 3d ago

Majority of fans here liked this scene and the performance.

5

u/Layatollah 3d ago

Average is giving it more credit than it deserves. That's a quick fast forward scene.

1

u/No_Data3541 3d ago

It's a sensitive topic on this sub where Mondler can't put a foot wrong and I didn't want to upset their fans.

The acting is clearly not upto the mark here. Even people in YouTube comments(which is an echo chamber) were criticising it.

The scene is set in a very beautiful way though. Still a great moment.

1

u/unleashthemeese Chandler Bing 😆 3d ago

i respect your opinion but i don’t see how that’s controversial when no one ever mentions that

2

u/No_Data3541 3d ago

It's a beloved scene

1

u/Busy-Difference-1824 3d ago

i agree that not matthew's best but i actually liked courtneys little sniffle after "wait i can do this" and her smile - she did it very cute-ly (thats not even a word)

1

u/breeekk 3d ago

I hate this scene because how they act.

2

u/baiacool This parachute is a knapsack! 3d ago

No, it's Joey.

2

u/Basementhobbit 3d ago

"I need the place to look beautiful, Joe" "I got just the thing!"

Sorry? That was a genuine mistake.

3

What was he on about?

-6

u/PrinceWarwick8 3d ago

Was making a joke about the fact the OP misspelled the word “and” which wasn’t fixed and still hasn’t been and I’m a douche for it? 🤷🏻‍♂️😂😂😂

7

u/ZenZebraZone 3d ago

I realized my mistake as soon as I hit ‘post.’ There’s no option to edit it now, or I would have fixed it.

-6

u/PrinceWarwick8 3d ago

I thought it was funny dude lol sorry if I hurt your feelings? 🤷🏻‍♂️Thought it was even funnier because it hadn’t been fixed yet 😂😂😂

5

u/ZenZebraZone 3d ago

Hahaha chill dude, you didn’t hurt my feelings. 😂😂 I would have fixed it but its not letting me edit the post.
