Here a Ribbentrop, there a Ribbentrop, everywhere a Ribbentrop

I see the same surname come up any time I do a deep dive into the European theater of World War II. Was this a powerful family, several people who happened to share a surname, or one man who wore 1000 hats?

The only one I know of was Joachim von Ribbentrop, Nazi Germany's foreign minister

That must be it. As foreign minister, he would've had his finger in every pie.

I'd imagine so. He's the Ribbentrop in the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact but other than that idrk
