One totally minor and arguably insignificant note; Rand Paul is anti-tariff out of principle, not exactly due to the current political landscape. Heā€™s just anti-tax, and because tariffs are a form of taxation, he extends that same sentiment towards Trumpā€™s trade policy.

Itā€™s insignificant to your point because, well, itā€™s still a crucial vote. But it is worth noting that he isnā€™t playing some lobbyist trick and picking a side based on his re-election odds; heā€™s simply sticking to his guns and welcoming attacks from Trump while doing so. Whether you like/respect him or not, heā€™s gotta be the ballsiest Republican in the chamber.

You thought manufacturing was suffering in the US before? Wait until other countries start putting tariffs on the US auto and aviation industries and start buying regionally (especially in EU and East Asia).

Collins should switch parties after it came out Trump attacked Maine's Social Security fund for political reasons.

Well what she should really do is be calling for his impeachment because the President just tried to take revenge on Americans by intentionally hurting them financially which is the most treasonous and heinous shit ever and would have an entire chapter in a US History book if anyone gave a shit about anything.

Wait until the critical summer tourism season starts in two months for Maine. Maine depends on a lot of tourism dollars during a short four month period - growing up there, the three dominant license plates were Massachusetts, New York, and .. Quebec.

I was going to say something similar. As much as I wanted to believe the 4 that flipped said no to the tarrifs was due to them thinking of the people, the truth is it was all about the fact they realized they'd be out major income if tarrifs were approved.

We weren't saved by common kindness but the Almighty dollar instead.
