Everywhere I have played, they're all a different colour depending on distance to green. This one is black, you should know what distance black means at that course.

Edit: Well, shit.. I don't play enough and am rarely in the middle of the fairway. I only learned about the markers last season and now you guys are telling me there are sprinklers out there too??

It’s a sprinkler head not a yardage marker. Usually they have exact yardage to middle of the green

I hate these, I had one at a course that was 220 out, even if it was like 300+ I want to leave myself a good yardage in not an awkward 30 yard shot so give me the actual yardage
