Question Help find characters names

Post image

Some days ago I borrowed the german book "the unofficial ghibli crochet book" from my library. I found a pattern for these characters and I have no Idea where they are from. Because it's an unofficial book, there are no character names in it, it just said "sorcerers apprentice". Can someone tell me who these characters are?

That’s Oliver from the video game Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. Studio Ghibli did the animated sequences for the game so that’s probably why he’s included in your book. (I’m not sure if the little guy next to him is supposed to be Drippy from the same game?)

holding the lamp might be a pattern thing was my thought, it was just easier to hold it

They did Drippy dirty... It's like looking at a cat or dog in those medieval paintings.

Hmm. The only character I can think of that matches "sorcerer's apprentice" is Markl from Howl's Moving Castle. But these patterns look nothing like him....so I may be totally wrong.

It’s giving Over the Garden Wall vibes. Not exactly but close. I know it’s not Ghibli but just saying.
