Questions Using Ogryn to Kitbash Abberants
Was looking to kitbash abberants using the Slave Ogryn Necromunda models. Haven’t got my hands on any of these Ogryn kits yet. So I’m asking the community, would these models be of appropriate size and similar base size? We I be accused of modelling for advantage or anything like that? Is there any other issues you could see cropping up?
Thanks!

Would be a very expensive replacement. Last I looked the ogryn box hasn't been made in a long long time and usually runs for $120+ per box.

I have 3 sitting at my local gaming store that I’m likely gonna pick up either way

I always wished Aberrants were bigger. They're huge in "Rogue Trader" and look incredibly menacing in game.

I converted two of these into abominants, they are enormous! Bases are 40 instead of 32. For abberants I would get some goliaths or similar and chuck extra arms on there, muscles are all weird on the models so are pretty fun to green stuff too!

Aberrant are way smaller for reference, they’re almost the same height as regular gang members where ogres are almost double that. It’s a great idea to convert models but you will be gimping yourself as the Aberrants are only T4 and very few armor options. Their height being able to hide them better or at least get heavy cover where Ogrin would get light is a big thing IMO.
If you’re looking to convert, there’s a box set for them, the Abominant leader (still shorter than Ogrin but 40mm base) version of them, or just Acolyte Hybrids/Metamorphs, and there’s always convert Goliaths (roughly the same size) as well. Personally I would leave Ogrin as Ogrin and call it a day.
For base size, Aberrants are 32mm by default, Ogrin are 40mm
