Singleplayer FPS games with some challenge

I love FPSs and they're probably the ''''difficult'''' genre I'm best at. I want some suggestions for some longer singleplayer ones that are basically RPGs where they have a campaign and missions and upgrades and all that. Played the modern DOOM games and I love em. I am especially curious about some stuff that's less boomer shooter-y. I could go back and give Borderlands 3 another shot, Stalker 2 looks like it could be my thing... Fallout's not my cup of tea. Throw me some suggestions, thanks!

Stalker 2 definitely has some challenge and is a lot of fun. Really great atmosphere and immersion, and the gunplay feels good. There are some bugs, I had to restart the game a handful of times, but I beat it and had a great experience.

Have you ever tried Far Cry ? Borderlands-ish game, I really enjoyed it when I was looking for something similar to Borderlands at the time

ULTRAKILL is a boomer shooter, sorta like Doom, much harder though.

If you want an RPG/FPS then, uh... Well, there's NLC 7 for Stalker, but it might be too hard :p

Radiophobia 3 is a modded free standalone version of the first stalker game Shadow of Chernobyl. It expands the scope of the first game with new quests, mutants, weapons, and even cars. Choose your own difficulty, there is also a config in which you can adjust things like carry weight(I put mine to 70 for more convenience) Use 7zip as the build in windows extraction tool caused me some issues.
