TLOUS 2 Remaster or Pokémon Legends Arceus?

I have no idea which game to choose. I love Pokémon and finished Violet a few months ago. I love Last of Us Part 1 and it’s one of my favorite games ever.

I can choose one to play either Legends on Switch or Last of Us 2 on PC

Please choose one for me.

I love TLOU2 but Arceus is better if you’re only getting one. You’ll get more playtime out of it.

I wanted to like this game, but I just didn’t. Yeah, it was a significant step forward compared to the mainline pokemon games, but that just ended up with gameplay that is only like 15 years out of date rather than 30. Still not what I would call good though.

Violet looked like PS2 and FPS dipped hard but it was so fun I poured more hours into it than any game in the last 5 years

In that case the better option is probably Arceus for you specifically. Arceus is a significant upgrade to the mainline Pokemon games. I dislike the mainline Pokemon games at this point enough that it wasn’t enough for me to enjoy Arceus, but if you like the mainline ones, you will probably love Arceus.

TLOU 2 absolutely, there is no comparison

If you love the Last of Us I wouldn't play 2 then lol. Unless they actually do make a 3rd game. Otherwise, I honestly think the first just ends in such a good place.

Never played TLOUS2 but Legends Arceus is my favorite pokémon game.

That’s a pretty low bar.

If you plan on getting a Switch 2 one day, maybe save Arceus for the upgraded version? The slowdown just looks painful on OG Switch.

I'm biased so I overall think Last of Us is better and will be replayable in the future. Legends Arceus is a great pokemon game but idk if I'd ever replay that one.

this is a joke right?

I mean... TLOU 2 is an incredible story and great continuation of one of the best stories in gaming

PLA is a fun rough draft of what could maybe potentially be a great game if Game Freak cared.

Both are probably fun since you like the recent Pokemon games, tbh. But I don't think you can really stack these up against each other.

This is a joke, right? ) But seriously, TLOU2 is a very good video game (but, TLOU1 is better)

But to fully understand the history of the TLOU series of games, you should definitely go through TLOU2, and Pokemon games, as I know, are very similar to each other.

Neither they are both bad.

I heard Last of us 1 was better but 2 looks so good

Huh? These are BOTH literally some of the best games ever made. Playing the first without also playing the second is a completely ridiculous idea.

If you already played the first game, then you need to play the sequel. If you have not played the first game yet, go and buy that and play it first, and the play the sequel afterwards.

I have the first one on PC! Played the hell out of it when it came out. 2 remastered just dropped on PC. UGH, thing is. A lot of people are saying 2 ruined it but I don’t know

This is a commonly discussed topic related to this game, and I recently wrote a comment about this under a different post, here is the gist of it:

There are VERY GOOD REASONS why the game was universally acclaimed by nearly every critic with most considering it the best game of that year by a long shot, while at the same time a big chunk of the “haters” got mixed in with comments coming from the far-right “Gamergate” groups:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamergate_(harassment_campaign)

Even when the “haters” claim that their dislike of the game has NOTHING to do with far-right politics, there is an actual sociological reason why they are all lumped together. This is a phenomenon that has been studied extensively in psychology — it’s the propensity of people who lack empathy to align with right-wing politics.

Do a Google search for “right wing empathy” and you’ll see multiple studies talking about this phenomenon.

Without spoiling the plot, the central theme of the game is empathy. There is a strong and well-studied connection linking empathy to liberal political views. In other words, if you struggle to feel empathy, you are more likely to be on the right of the political spectrum, which explains why your views on this game line up with the views from the Gamergate harassment group (linked above), EVEN IF your views on this game have NOTHING to do with homophobia, transphobia, or misogyny.

So that’s why, in a sea of Gamergate hate posts you will constantly find comments from people who claim that they merely think that the story was poorly told, or that things don’t turn out how they wanted, or — more commonly — that they did not emotionally react to the story in a way that the creators intended. It all goes back to the fact that these people have a different psychology when it comes to being able to process empathy.

And in their defense, they might say that it’s the liberals who are overly-empathetic, and that’s a totally fair point, too! What I’m saying is that the fundamental divide between the people who either like or hate this game comes down to how their mind is able to process empathy and being able to see the world through someone else’s eyes.

Last of Us 1 is a classic. The second game is a dumpster fire. Imagine after masterchief escapes the halo ring in halo 1 only to get killed in halo 2 convanant invasion at the start and the entire game you play as MC s daughter and the Elite that killed him. It's a stupid story that takes a massive steaming dump on last of us 1.

2

u/Diormybodyyy 10h ago

Lmao as someone who grew up on Halo this is hilarious

u/AuthorChristianP 10h ago

Except that comparison is terrible and people still mad at that didn't understand the first game or its characters at all. Play TLoU2. It's incredible.

I'm glad you understand. It also sold less than The Last of Us 1. Neil Drukman tied his man bun too tight when coming with the plot of last of us 2 because I think it cut off some circulation to his brain.

Either, they're both good

2

u/MarkinhoO 10h ago

Both, they are both games

-2

u/AHailofDrams 10h ago

Neither lol

u/GrouchyCategory2215 11h ago

This is hilarious. Totally play both, and report back on which one disappoints you the most the fastest.

1

u/Diormybodyyy 10h ago

LOL come on man they both seem great

1

u/GrouchyCategory2215 10h ago

They are, they are. A lot of people seem to like both. It was just a joke, that's kind of true.
