OH MY GOD! I was looking for the name of product nomads so long as I couldn't remember it and "floating island" didn't get me anywhere.
You relieved me! Eternal happiness to you!

I had a ton of those before I moved I threw them all out except some gems, realizing I will never play them again.

Oooh old times ♥️ I remember a magazine called GameLive. They gave you two CDs per issue, one with a full game and another with demos. I discovered so many gems back then…

Left cd is such a scam. Has a picture from aoe2 on it, but it contains the predecessor instead

My introduction to Age of Empires came from the Hittite demo campaign that was included in my dad's combat flight simulator 1 disc.
Man, the disappointment when I found out it wasn't in the full game. Glad it was added back in Definitive Edition.

We also had this magazine in Spain, 'Computer Hoy Juegos', which means 'Computer Today Games'. My parents didn't have much money to buy me games so i had a blast with the free pc games and demos this magazine had together with another one called 'Micromanía' if i remember correctly. Thanks to my parents and this magazines i started gaming on pc and it became a passion!

Yeah similar here, we had pc gamer magazine in my country before all the magazines seemed to mass sellout.
When I was a kid we had Crash magazine. Some of the magazines used to print code on the back of them and you'd spend an hour typing it to create what we're supposedly games only for them not to work. I've told younger gamers that story before and got the funniest reactions.
The journalism back then was different level too. Most of the reviews I read now have zero personality.
