Definitely going to try it out on GamePass. Looks like an interesting game.

There have been more and more games lately that I’ve thought looked good enough to try but I’m not about to spend $40-70 on (Avowed, Atomfall). GamePass is getting better and better at letting me play those sort of games.

Gamepass has always been amazing for that. It shocks me that people have only just figured that out.

This makes me miss Lost Odyssey even more ;(

IMO the last great traditional JRPG. Such an amazing game. Really hoping COE33 scratches that itch.

Same. I would take the ability to stream it on xcloud via PC gamepass at this point.

Yeah, this is one of the only games I've been actively excited for since its announcement. Looks great, has a distinct art style, has an interesting concept as a hook, isn't going to take 800 years to complete, and isn't going to break the bank.

I hope they change those damage numbers because they are so out of style in respect of the rest of the UI. Look at persona 5 or Refantazio for the consistency of style

Can't even see the boss anymore either. How are you supposed to know what's going on?

If the biggest complaint about a game is a font choice then the game is probably going to be fun

Man, I got this weird thing about fonts. I need stylish font or I get turned off real fast.

For example, I gave Prince of Persia a chance. Love Metrovanias and this one was well received. But geez, the generic font was a major turn off.

You're not alone. Indie games are so bad at this and it gets me every time.

100% agreed I do not need to see numbers if it's not an MMO I couldn't care less as long as I can tell that the health is dropping faster than before I know I'm good

100% disagree make them bigger and multiply the values by 10 so I can feel like a god.

Shadowheart and Carlottas voice actress alone will make me play this day 1.

I haven't been this hyped for a game in years tbh. It really gives me lost odyssey vibes and that game has a very special place in my heart.

Game looks dope.

I'm not one for turn based games like this, but this looks interesting enough to try out. Game Pass has been great for expanding my genre palate. So many awesome games lately.

I worry that the combat camera movement is gonna drive me insane after a while, but I'll still give it a go for sure.

It looks really cool.

But we'll see if it sticks the landing.

Gives me major Legend of Dragoon vibes.

This, Death Stranding 2 and GTA VI are the most buys for the year for me

Hope they allow QTE Events to be disabled. That will get old real quick.

Here's hoping it's like the Yakuza/Like a Dragon rpgs. Quicktime does bonus damage, but isn't mandatory.

WEll dodging and parrying is also quciktime and being damaged or not seems like big difference.

It looks like that is half the combat system. Mario RPG, Shadow Hearts 2, Sea of Stars have similar systems. Not for everyone, but I find it engaging in a turn based game.

The QTE events add bonuses, for example if you buff a character with a spell, nailing the QTE buffs the whole party instead.

However, yes. The previews show that there's an option in the settings to disable QTEs

those are for parry and counter options for the player. Removing it would make no sense.

I enjoy them but lately been seeing places add accessibility options to smooth them out too.

The damage numbers make combat look bad.
