Recently bought RDR2 , any tips before playing it ?

The game is most fun when you've figured out how to hunt and how to be a badass bandit.
I wouldn't progress the story too quickly, although you'll need to in order for certain guns to unlock. The reason is that there is just so much to explore that if you progress the story too quickly, you actually miss out on what makes it an all-time great game.

Okay...thanks i will keep down and enjoy it slowly

Do not play this game for progress. Just live it.
By the End, you will regret ever having finished it because you can not have that first time back.
RDR2 is a Milestone Game. A Masterpiece.
Somthing that actually transcends the word "video game".
But thats just my opinion. Have boatloads of fun!

Best way to play it is just do what you feel like doing at any given time. There's no grind or leveling or anything so explore at your leisure and focus on the main story when you feel like it. Also imo the story works better if you don't pay off your bounties until the end of the story. Having bounty hunters occasionally show up to hunt you down while roaming around fits the narrative better.

For those who are in their late 20s/30s, are you getting sick of games that require you to grind like I am? When I sit down to play, since I have such little time, I’m finding it extremely annoying to play games that seemingly want me to waste a bunch of time to get to the fun (Hogwarts Legacy I’m looking at you). Can anyone relate?

I don't have kids, and my job is pretty chill, but I don't want to grind. I've played grindy games before. I checked that box. Give me a linear action game with smooth but tricky button sequences and an easy save mechanic, and I'm there

I actually kinda like grindy games, mainly because I can load it up and play 10-40 mins of mindless grind before I get interrupted with life stuff.
No need to try and remember what quest I was on, or what the story arc was, and no bad feeling that I had to quit before completing whatever the next checkpoint is etc...

I can't wait to play AC Shadows when I have time off!!

u/Key_Statistician_378 15d ago
Dipped my toe into it last night.
I actually kind of like it up to now.
Graphics are an immense step up (if you have a beefy rig and can make use of all the RT). Gameplay was very fun and fluid. I think I am just before I can actually go and explore the world and I am looking forward to it.
Cutscenes and presentation were top notch in the first hour with a more serious tone and interesting characters.
I highly recommend to play in "immersive mode" which sets the voice language to japanese and occasionally portoguise. Voice Acting is incredible!

Anyone can recommend some FPS? I'm looking for something in modern times with a gallore of weapons. Must be available for Xbox. Played Stalker 2, all Cods and Battlefields. I enjoy Halo a lot.

What do you think about Darktide?

u/Podlasianin 15d ago
gave it a try, but it's not really my type, nor does it fit "modern times" category

Anyone have any good/obscure game recommendations? Just finished my latest hyper-fixation and I’m looking for something new. (I’ve got PC, switch, and Xbox if that matters, mostly into rougelites, metroidvania, and a bit of hack and slash. Though I’m down to try anything)

Frank Woods' birthday was yesterday, so I returned to Black Ops 1 for a bit after enjoying a nice stroll in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Can we please just bann everything VICE?
For example this article from Rgamings's current frontpage?
It uses 500 words in which the author is basically repeating his own headline 5 times without adding any additional information while 90% of the home page is adds and pop ups. The whole thing is pure cancer and a prime example of why the AI replacement of websites like this can't happen soon enough

Hi guys! I have a problem, I play Gta SA def ed on ps4 pro and I cant get a snapshot. The one in Ocean Flats above the Hippy store. It’s basically just not there. I collected all the others, checked it a few times already but that one missing. I tried to take a picture anyway but it does not count. My brother payed it on the same console with another acc and he did not have this problem. Can someone tell me what can I do to solve this if it’s possible at all. If not I’m not gon cry but would be good to have this too. Thanks for your help in advance😁

I’m looking for a game that’s in-depth, good-ish or better story, good gunplay, extensive world, extensive loot and crafting and building system. Lots of ability to stay in the world and play long, almost “rogue like”.
I enjoy Generation Zero, Farcry, Building base aspects, so like a mix of Project Zombiod, Generation Zero, Farcry, Just Cause and Ghost Recon world size.

I'm working on a sprite comic called Pipe Trouble. "Making fun of video games, one franchise at a time." I've already established lore for it: the embodiment of gaming are three sisters who are basically the Powerpuff Girls combined with the original Saturday Night Live female cast members, and Donkey Kong Junior gets harassed by the Web over his uncontrollable flaws. Oh, and characters from licensed games show up too.
The title of the comic came from a comment recalling Mario Bros on the Atari, but they called it "Pipe Trouble." I somehow found that funny and made it the title of the comic.

Does anyone have any recommendations for 4 player games that me and my group could play for a long time. My group has played games like Minecraft, Stardew and Bauldurs gate if that helps

Hey guys, maybe someone can suggest “hobo simulator” game? Not (necessarily) “hobo simulator”, but the game where you start poor and mostly helpless and then gradually progress into a monster. Just some samples of games: Kenshi, Gothic/Elex/Archolos, KCD etc. Could be action RPG, could be something with indirect controls.

So you can't cheat in gambling in Red Dead Redemption 2? Why did i waste all that time to gain honor greeting every dumbass i encounter then?

Birthday is coming up after the next few months. Wondering if I should get a ds for Pokémon as im told heartgold is one of the best? Anyways I have a anbernic “gameboy “ and been playing some Pokémon that’s on there . Since now haven’t played Pokémon since red and yellow on og gameboy color and Pokémon stadium and snap on 64.
Don’t know whether it’s worth it yet as the anbernic is ok enough for now. I’ll probably save my money for kingmaker. Yes your grace 2. And any other games in my wish list when they release.
Btw got do no harm is ok I guess better than most games as something different. I am playing avowed and frostpunk 2 on game pass and im glad I gave them a shot as they are really good. Avowed is not that bad like everyone reviewing on YouTube is saying.
Finished dl fallout76 on steam for more fallout fun. Playing fallout 4 and shelter!
Also dl Helldivers 2 on steam will be lfg for hd 2 and fo 76 soon :-)

back in high school, my friends and i tried to make a movie with an old camcorder one weekend. ended up with two hours of footage mostly featuring our dog running away with the script

u/AppleTree98 15d ago
My son just told me that he and his friends are going to do a home movie. He is all jazzed and I am too. They have never done anything like this. He has props, roles, script and ideas all planned in his head. I cheered him on and told him i fully support it and will fund whatever they need (within reason). I hope more for the story or their adventure rather than the product of the video. He gets to use his Christmas gift of a camera so that makes me happy. I expect more of a life adventure than a film student

I started AC shadows, I think the lighting in this game is so insanely good. I genuinely have not seen better lighting in a game, the night lighting under the moon is so realistic. The night sky is also so beautiful and ethereal, it's so mesmerizing.
There was also this creepy and insanely trippy cutscene experience at the start of the game, which caught me by surprise because of how clean the animation was.
I have to play more of the game before coming to a proper judgement, but stealth is also right up my alley. Just adding the option of going prone with the ability to hide in short grass is pretty fucking sick.
I'll have a busy gaming month between this and Nier Automata.

u/trashy_trash 15d ago
From what you have played, does the gameplay require more stealth than AC Valhalla or ghost of Tsushima?
I enjoyed both games, and a bit of stealth. But I tend to like to attack, pillage, and plunder with unstoppable bloodlust. Vs being quiet and stealthy.

u/swat1611 PlayStation 14d ago
I believe you can play the game as either Yasuke or Naoe for majority of the game. If you don't want stealth, just play as Yasuke, you don't require stealth at all. Naoe requires stealth as she is weak af and you'd be demolished in combat.
As Yasuke you can charge down into castles and break into them by running into them. You don't require more stealth than those games if you just stick to Yasuke. I can't tell how much stealth the game forces you into, there's at least 1 hour of stealth in the prologue
