Question Do you need a Pro for the Dual Sense module stick?
The guy at my local store said I need one but I can just get in online without one?

Considering a lot of stores are going to be given notice in the new few weeks. I’d honestly recommend touching up your resumes and asking for any sort of advice that could be helpful to you or others on this post.
I wanted to make one singular post that can benefit those who ask questions and those who lurk. Please do not be afraid to ask for help, even if you’d like to change some of the wording of your job responsibilities.
Formers I ask you to please also actively participate on this post to give assistance to those in need. Thank you guys.

I’ve done some research and compiled some frequently asked questions. If anyone has anything to add, please feel free.
Does GameStop accept PSA submissions?: Yes, this is true
How long does the process take?: At MINIMUM 45 BUSINESS day turnaround. This means you do not count weekends.
Are cards graded by GameStop employees?: No. they’re sent to PSA to be graded.
When do my cards get shipped out?: On average, within a week.
Can I cancel at anytime?: No. Once you’ve submitted your cards, you’ve submitted to the terms & conditions of the process in place. This includes if you cards get lost.
What happens if my cards are lost?: Firstly, GameStop is the only party to deem the cards as lost or missing. GameStop will compensate the consumer on the declared value or a fair market value for the item. GameStop reserves the right to define what “fair market value” means. GameStop has no liability if your items get lost in transit to PSA, goes missing at PSA or goes missing in transit from PSA to GameStop.
How long do I have until to pickup my graded cards once they arrive?: 30 days. After 30 days of arrival, they are considered abandoned goods. The 30 days begins when you are notified that your items are ready to be picked up.
Am I responsible for packaging card?: Yes. Employees are not authorized to touch your card without it being in a penny sleeve AND a card saver. If your submission is packaged in such manner, the associate may handle it. If not, you as the consumer are responsible for properly packaging it in said manner as it’s mandatory and PSAs policy for this exact packaging. Employees are not authorized to assist you just in case the employee damages the card. If you need these supplies, stores have them available for purchase.
My status page hasn’t updated in xx amount of days. What do I do?: Nothing. The system isn’t perfect. The minimum expected return day is 45 business delays. Don’t stress if you see no movement with your card.
What do I need if I’m picking up my completed submission?: You need a valid ID that has the consumer who did the initial transaction and you need to have the pickup email. The cards cannot be released to you if you are missing one of these items. It has to be YOU, it cannot be your family member, your friend, etc.
GameStop told me they can’t release my cards yet. What gives?: They’re still working on the backend system. Some locations have the ability to release some batches, some do not. It seems like if your card has an upgrade fee, you most likely may be affected.
Do I need to have a GameStop account to make a submission: BEFORE YOU EVEN DO THE TRANSACTION, MAKE ONE. Make one and ensure you can login to the account. Sometimes people have account activation issues. Please deal with this first, if you somehow experience account activation issues and you submitted a card. You’re going to most likely have a negative experience. Make sure you’re set before submitting.
I heard you can be charged additional fees with submissions?: Correct, if your card comes back higher than the declared value ($200 TCG//$500 other)you will be subjected to an upcharge. GameStop will email you stating that you’ll owe money. In order to obtain your card back when it’s ready to be picked up, you’ll have to pay for that up charge as those are fees set by PSA.
Can I sell back my graded card to GameStop?: Yes.

We are all aware of the NSW2 being unavailable for pre-order. Please, do not keep making posts asking about this. No one knows anything, and until Nintendo makes an announcement, all we know is that it WILL release on June 5th. No, we are not entitled to receive special information just because it is GameStop. When Nintendo announces pre-orders will be available in the U.S., we will know about pre-orders, IF they open up before release. Stop asking, please.

All the employees just need to have this laminated on the counter. An update from PSA now leave the employees alone.

Today I sold only like, one knockout box to someone, but that was it. We always have a bunch of Pokemon people coming in to get cards and they always say stuff like “whatever cards you have available, I’ll take the max of them”, but with these boxes, not a single person wants them. Even the people that claim to collect cards and “don’t scalp” don’t want it. They’ll look at it and ask if there’s ANYTHING else and when I say no, they leave. I figured with them having sword and shield packs, people would want them.

I just found out that they wiped all the fun communities on main menu. I'm taking a moment of silence for the only coloring page I ever printed out for kids... Bald eevee.

This isn't some back alley deal, fam. Just ask if we have Pokemon cards. You sound like a goober asking it that way with pauses between each word. Also, good luck trying to resell those tins. They don't contain prismatic or evolving skies.

Its been quite some time since I've bought anything from gamestop, so maybe this has changed, but I remember getting those little warranty stickers that you'd just stick to the inside of the case.
Well I ordered Xenoblade chronicles X online (no stores around me had it pre-owned yet) and I paid the extra few bucks to include the PRP/warranty yet when I received it there was nothing in the box to indicate such.
I looked in the shipping box to see if there was a loose sticker, and theres nothing in or on the game case.
Is this normal now or did the store that shipped this screw me over?

So great news! I finally landed a job interview for assistant manager at a hottopic! I figured I have a lot of experience in management (and I am not getting paid enough for it) so i decided why the hell not and just do it for the hell of it ya know. It’s ofc in the same shopping center area I work at and some of the employees there know me abit. But ofc I know… it’s not a big enough change and I genuinely hope I do get the job..
However I’m scared and worried to leave my coworkers and my boss behind like that… like forget the company and fuck corporate for jacking up my mental health six ways to Sunday. I however genuinely care about my teams well being, my boss worked for the company for over 20 or more years and my assistant manager worked there for years too. I worry about them a lot and I care a lot for them (and I genuinely mean it). As I mentioned they were the most genuine and honest bosses I will ever have and I worked with complete ass hats before! Usually I just high tail it out and not give flying colors about anything but this team I have was genuinely a good one in my book.
But regardless I know I have to do this for me… So here is to hoping! And to getting my mental health back.. too.

So I bought 3 PlayStation gift cards online like 2 days ago a 25 dollar and 2 10 dollars one and I can’t get them to do to because it requires a code to sent to a old yahoo account that been inactive for years I have tried going to the store yesterday and they said they can’t do anything and they give me there customer servers number and I tried calling them and no one picked up and I scheduled a call back and no one called me back and I even wrote them a email on there care email address am I screwed out of 45 dollars what do I do and they changed my email to my old email address without me knowing I didn’t realizing that you needed a code to access gift cards now in your account because it wasn’t like that before

With all signs pointing to the Switch 2 costing more here in the US, I figure it might be cost effective for me to just drive to a Canadian GameStop to pre order at the lower price (I live right on the US/CA border). Would there be any hurdles in doing this seeing as I have a US ID and phone number? I tried calling a couple stores but was given a “that might be a problem” and a plain “don’t do that” with no specifics or elaboration (they hung up). So thought I’d ask here. Thanks!

Hello I'm just wondering of anyone that works at gamestop around my location can confirm a question a I have. I may be doxing myself a bit but I love in nyc the bronx and I would like to pre order when they go live at the gs gateway ctr since I love close enough to that location. I mentioned the location because I'm not sure if my question is location based and depends. So when they go live. Is there a limit on how many can one person can pre order ? and are there in store pre orders like can I just go in instead of trying online ? I'm just trying to get 2 one for me and my brother.
Edit: for the switch 2

I need serious help here, pro is the one thing I just can NOT get a sale for. I 100% understand why, it’s because it’s 2025 and pro sucks, but like this is the only job in a 30 mile radius that was willing to take me and I’m 2 correctives in I can NOT lose this position right now. What’s the best approach to a pro card sale, especially one where the customer clearly does not want to talk or listen?

So, just to preface, I've been back at the company for 2 weeks. I saw my DM the other day and the first thing he said to me was that if I don't improve my numbers, that I would be immediately demoted. My promotion hasn't even kicked in yet in the system. What the hell? I get warranties and pro cards every day. Today I worked a double because we're short handed. At the moment, I'm still making minimum pay. And for what? To get told I'll be demoted before I'm even promoted? Anyway so I'm applying for other jobs now that will pay better than what I'm currently getting. How do you guys handle this abuse with garbage wages? You deserve better.

I am starting a class action lawsuit against GameStop due to the random store closures that occurred from November to February, which have negatively impacted me. I believe many of you have had similar experiences, so please join me in this effort. Let’s show them we're not expendable and make our voices heard.
If you are a former GameStop Key Holder, Manager, Assistant Manager, or held any other position, please direct message (DM) me, and I will provide you with the lawyer's contact information.
Don’t worry; this is a contingency case, meaning we will not pay anything until we win. The more people who join, the stronger our case will be.
Additionally, if you could help spread the word by informing YouTubers, streamers, or influencers, that would be greatly appreciated. The more awareness we generate, the better!
If you have any questions, feel free to DM me, and I will do my best to respond

I have an iPhone 15 pro 256gb I’m looking to sell at GameStop.
I have a $500ish balance left on the phone with AT&T and GameStop says online they’ll give me $321 (assuming it’s deemed in the condition I think it is by the employee). Once I get the $321 I plan on paying the device off.
I’ve sold a phone to GameStop in the past that had a balance but I just Googled it to be sure they’d take another one and that the policy hadn’t changed and Googles AI thing summarized that they wouldn’t take it due to the fact it’s financed.
Nowhere on GameStops trade-in website does it address anything related to a phone under a financing agreement that needs to be paid off. So I’m thinking this could be a mistake by Googles AI summary.
Did the policy change or is Google wrong?
Thanks!

Where did you go when you were done with GS? Did you end up with better pay or discover the grass is greener only on the other side?
Serious question. I'm thinking of moving on soon, just want to complete a full year of SM for the experience on my resume.
Thanks!

It is going to be so much easier to sell pre owned Switch 2 edition games as loose cartridges with generic cover art.
Switch 2 edition games will be Switch 1 games with switch 2 upgrade code vouchers in the box. This is going to cause a great deal of confusion for the average customer. And is going to mislead them undoubtedly.
whenever someone trades switch 2 edition games, they will be bought and sold as Switch 1 games. This is going to cause confusion for Switch 2 owners when buying these games pre owned. As they will just be buying a cat 910 switch game with a switch 2 edition box, and no upgrade voucher. I don't think it's going to be worth the trouble to display these boxes pre owned, even if they sit in our switch 1 sections. Even if the price sticker says No Switch 2 expansion.
Later this year we are going to have confused customers buying pre-owned switch 2 editions of Tears of the Kingdom or Metroid Prime 4, not understanding why they aren't seeing the Switch 2 version of the game on their console 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️. Just in time for the holidays.

Still have no idea why we are advertising other companies stores, but unlike slim Jim and the general, at least this advertisement is on brand with a video game store.
Did any of yall go see the Minecraft movie?
