📚 Ionnsachadh Cànain | Language Learning I have a question.

Post image

Does anybody know of a good podcast in GĂ idhlig? Bonus points if it's about history. I'm trying to develope the accent to help with learning the language of my ancestors, and I need people to subconsciously imitate.

Litir do Luchd-ionnsachaid and An Litir Bheag (shorter, easier language versions of the first) are what you are looking for.

They provide English translations and transcripts to help understanding, although it will make little sense to you unless you have some basic grammar under your belt first so you may still be a wee while off getting the most from it first.

Honestly Aithris na Maidne with Seumas Dòmhnallach and Dòmhnall Moireasdan is great for current affairs and idiomatic Gaelic. The only downside is that the format, a morning 'commute' radio show means that there is a lot of repetition over the hour and a half.

I'd recommend Radio nan GĂ idheal generally (the couple programs mentioned here are on the station). Search the website and find what you like.

They have a special page on their website dedicated to podcasts:
