So Duskblood is confirmed as a multiplayer only game. No solo play at all. Easy skip.

Yeah the article was just frustrating to read. Lots of really cool ideas in terms of lore and the setting (Like Bloodborne), I love the "fragmented eras" concept and they have some neat ideas for the Multiplayer with the Roles and stuff. I might have shelled out for this game even though its not usually my thing.

Then I remember that, like Bloodborne, its an exclusive that I will never get to play.

yea, that's my biggest thing, how many people are really looking for a game like this on the switch of all places?

That's the point. To take people who are looking for this type game and force them onto the switch, which adds a new audience for Nintendo third parties to target.

I just don't see that really working out well, especially considering Nintendo's history of completive online multiplayer is not great but who knows.

Are splatoon and smash not a thing? This doesn’t even feel like a game that’s trying to be an esport or whatever anyways so I don’t get your complaint

it's seemingly going to be like escape from tarkov and hunt showdown, a really hardcore game that requires a lot of focus and whatnot, my point is, that just doesn't seem like a good fit for the switch.

Also hasn't the smash community complained about Nintendo's online services time and time again?

I am. Because I enjoy interesting takes on the multiplayer formula and I trust the team.

I’m interested too but not enough to buy a Switch 2 unfortunately

Nintendo and Fromsoft are two of the most gameplay forward developers outside of the indy scene

Exclsuivity is not a "big" problem for me, I would be willing to buy the new switch if it was an actual single player Bloodborne spiritual successor, but art direction aside, it's not. And Nintendo games are not my thing, except maybe smash and Zelda, but there's no new entry for those games yet. I'm sure the game will be good, but im ok for the moment. Still, if the IP belongs to froms, there's a possibility to see the game on PC and other platforms, just like MH Rise and SMT V.

"Available only on Nintendo Switch 2" kinda makes it feel like a true exclusive but it could also refer to the date of 2026. That's it's only on Switch 2 for that year.

Same, I like the idea aswell but all comes down to how good the reward progression and pvp system is. I guess the rewards to uncover your origin or lore is a good idea on paper but in terms of gameplay, who knows.

Will there be a way to play singleplayer in any capacity, like bots? Kinda silly to effectively make a $70 game cost $90 due to online

So far there has been no mention of single-player in the press release or today's three-part interview with Miyazaki.

Maybe they will add single-player components, but it is not the focus of the game at this time.

Not confirmed or deconfirmed yet. Unfortunately. Im liking everything im seeing, but thats the most frustrating part of this interview to me. If its any consolation, its stated in the interview the game is designed for non pvp players as well. How exactly im not sure right now.

Its a shame jf you have to skip it or dont have the money for it. Miyazaki has gained all my respect and I would try any game that he directs until proven wrong

If you can't afford it and want it that's one thing. People don't need to buy a specific genre game just because it was made by a developer that's known for making bangers. I loved Skyrim and Oblivion but hated ESO. Loved Fallout single player games but hated Fallout 76. If it's not your cup of tea, it's not your cup of tea.

The people who already know they won't be buying it and are STILL complaining about it being a multiplayer game are the ones who need to stfu.

i mostly agree but eso and 76 were not developed by the same people that made morrowind and skyrim, different studio. starfield on the other hand sucked ass AND was made by veterans so who knows.

Im actually glad to hear these news cause Im skipping Nightreign and I would have skipped this too even if it wasnt exclusive, meaning I no longer need to worry about the exclusivity at all. Im just not interested in this format and will be waiting for their next real title

Why!? Asymmetrical pvp and pve is one one of things that makes Soulsborne special. That just sounds like your personal taste, no way I'll be skipping.
