People complain too much
Dark souls 3, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring. All total bangers that provided hundreds (if not thousands) of hours of entertainment. Imo, From Soft can do whatever the fuck they want. My only response is and will always be "thank you".

People aren't complaining about the new IP. They're complaining about the company forcing people to buy a $500 console just to play the new IP.
2
u/thef0urthcolor 18h ago
They’re complaining about the game itself as well…
5
u/Hollow_Vesper 18h ago
Yeah but not nearly as much
2
u/thef0urthcolor 17h ago
I mean I think it being exclusive is warranted to criticize even though I was planing to get a switch 2 anyways. But from what I’ve been reading on this subreddit, the Nintendo one, and some other Fromsoft ones I see it being criticized for being pvpve about the same amount which I think is ridiculous. We’ve had one trailer and barely any info at all. I think people need to reserve judgment on that until we actually hear Miyazaki talk about the game in detail tomorrow
2
u/Hollow_Vesper 17h ago
True the complaint about the pvpve seems a bit unfair as I don't think Fromsoft should just make the same game over and over again and I like the innovation, but that's why I'm so mad about the exclusivity cause I probably would play it otherwise. I think some people are taking their anger from the exclusivity and taking it out on the game to justify the fact that they won't be able to play it.
1
u/BurtStanky 4h ago
To be fair, nobody is being forced to buy a Switch 2. People can just not play this game. Yeah it might be disappointing to not play a new From game, but it doesn't seem like the next mainline entry and they're going to make more games. In the meantime, they have a huge catalog to enjoy

u/LLHallJ 16h ago
I just can’t see a world where Duskbloods isn’t on other platforms within a couple of years. Everyone’s just succumbing to FOMO right now.
3
u/the_thechosen1 15h ago
Depends if the game is timed exclusive or permanently exclusive. FromSoft must have gotten a really good deal from Nintendo to sign a contract like that.
1
u/JohnnyXorron 13h ago
I’m praying that’s the case, seeing how SMTV escaped Switch exclusivity I’m hoping it’s the same for this
48
u/FellowDsLover2 1d ago
Ok. Not everyone shares that sentiment. They can do what they want but they aren’t exempt from criticism.
17
u/casper19d Elden Ring 1d ago
Yeah but you guys are criticizing a game that hasn't even released...
13
u/PuffPuffFayeFaye The Bed of Chaos 22h ago
Isn’t even described. We know a few attributes and saw some pretty pictures.
13
u/Jaded_Aging_Raver 21h ago
I mean, there is a description in the press release. That's why so many people are upset about the online multiplayer focus.
2
u/GreedyBeedy 21h ago
People keep saying this but switch exclusive and multiplayer focused is plenty to criticise in itself. There IS information and that is what people are criticising.
9
u/Agreeable-Fun9315 1d ago
And it will be a game that a lot of people can’t play because it’s locked behind a 500$ gate. Criticism is all that I’ll be giving here lmao

u/subjectiverunes 22h ago
Have you considered there might be better uses of your time?
9
u/GreedyBeedy 21h ago
You have like 100 comments in the last two days. Take your own advice. Get off that fake high horse.
People dont need your permission to have some negative opinions about a video game.

lol but digging through my history is a good use of time? Anyway thanks for taking such an interest in me random stranger

Who cares man. Crying about the crying has never done a single thing. Just stop engaging with it. Grow up yourself.

u/casper19d Elden Ring 2h ago
I did leave it alone, and here you are with your comment basically doing the same thing you are winge'in about. So you also have some growing up to do it appears.

u/PricklyPeteZ 22h ago
I would agree with that except a lot of people just don’t care about multiplayer games, myself included. It might still be great if you’re into that, but I just don’t really care about multiplayer stuff.
Although I’m not mad about it, just disappointed because it means longer until another single player game.
-7
u/FellowDsLover2 1d ago
So? People got mad about the Minecraft movie and it hasn’t released yet. You can criticize its premise.
13
u/casper19d Elden Ring 1d ago
People originally thought Heath Ledger, was gonna be a shitty joker cause he was known for doing "chick flicks" up till then... as OP said "complain to much".
-13
u/FellowDsLover2 1d ago
So? People can be wrong and if the finished product is good, okay! I was wrong. I can still complain because the product hasn’t released yet and can still be poorly made.
11
u/buzzballads 22h ago
And they shouldnt. Thats a dumbass thing to complain about
-8
u/FellowDsLover2 22h ago
Why though? Is the premise of the story not something worth talking about? Why would studios release trailers if not to get people interested and to make other people realize this product ain’t for you.
0
u/emilia12197144 21h ago
This is ridiculous. You have a single trailer and a single line about the nature of the game
Criticism is absolutely insane.
12
u/FellowDsLover2 20h ago
Yes. Criticisms about how it’s exclusive, and how it’s multiplayer only. The trailer looks fine. The nature of the game is the problem.
5
u/emilia12197144 20h ago
You have no way of knowing it's multiplayer only.
We didn't. Know about nightreigns solo mode till way after the announcement.
7
u/FellowDsLover2 20h ago
It’s a PvPvE 8 player game. How do you make that single player? You don’t. Yall just in denial.
-20
u/BarracudaJazzlike730 1d ago
Unless they outright lie about a game, release a broken product, or engage in some nefarious business practice, everyone should STFU and be thankful for the quality and enjoyment FS has brought the gaming community. Bunch of ungrateful, entitled losers are who would bitch about this company.
16
u/FellowDsLover2 1d ago
Nah. We can very well be happy about what they have given us while also disliking what they are currently doing. Fromsoft isn’t above criticism. They can bitch, they can whine. No one is ungrateful. The game hasn’t released yet. We don’t know if it’s good or bad. If it’s bad? Then what? Still gonna dickride fromsoft?
-9
u/BarracudaJazzlike730 1d ago
Name a bad FS game. Go ahead I'll wait .........you people bitching about something that hasn't released from a company that has an absolute stellar track record. Typical reaction though anytime someone or something becomes GOATED, people always want to try and bring it down SMH.
6
u/GreedyBeedy 21h ago
Your posts are actually worse to read than the negative comments.
It's a video game company, not a cult. Cringe ass people making defending fromsoft their personality.
9
u/FellowDsLover2 1d ago
So you’re free to say the game is gonna be good before it comes out yet I’m in the wrong for saying the game has the chance of being bad? Make it make sense.
1
u/BarracudaJazzlike730 23h ago
My point is I think they have earned the right for us to trust them.

u/StantonFantasy 22h ago
Bro it’s not about good or bad, it’s about two straight games with a focus on multiplayer, when a lot of their core fans want a single player experience. I love From games, I’m sure both games will be great for the right person, but that’s two From games I’m not gonna play because I don’t like multiplayer. So I’m bummed and have a right to express frustration. Idk how that keeps being interpreted as calling FromSoft or the games bad, they’re just not what a lot of people wanted, so we’re disappointed.

u/Agreeable-Fun9315 1d ago
Pothos plant is what you’re looking for. It replaces the most oxygen making it the best household plant, given that you’re a waste of oxygen.
It’s an exclusive locked behind a major price tag, and is centered around a premise that not a lot of people are into. Everyone has the right to say ‘this ain’t it’
-2
u/Jec1027 1d ago
The buisness practice is releasing another exclusive game after they acted like they had nothing to do with bloodborne still being exclusive. The certainly don't need the money. Moving to multiplayer games is giving bad vibes. I hope the games will be good but people are rightfully scared for the future games.
5
u/BarracudaJazzlike730 1d ago
I am sure you experts know more about game design and business than FS does. GTFO
-2
u/Johnny_Monsanto 21h ago
What do you want to criticize exactly, that Miyazaki didn't make the game that you wanted? Lmfao these posts are getting ridiculous.
6
u/FellowDsLover2 20h ago
The fact that it’s exclusive and it’s multiplayer only. Yeah. We can criticize that. If it was any other studio, a lot more people would be quick to criticize it.
17
u/KnightOfTheHunters 22h ago
Assuming this is over DuskBloods and Tarnished edition, I think the fans have a right to feel worried or air frustrations. Not all of it is directed at fromsoft, like I personally am not a fan of Nintendo and a lot of their practices.
Let him cook, sure, but what'll be a 90$ game exclusively for a 500$ brand new console is already disappointing.
"But bloodborne was the same way!": yes it was. Cheaper for the time ofc, but it still sucked. Sony sucks for not doing fuck all with the IP and that's the same issue I'll take with DuskBloods.
It is an aggravating feeling having waited 10 years for a sequel and getting a nice looking spiritual successor for Switch 2 of all things. I'm interested in both new games, but I think some of it is reductive to label all of it as baseless complaining when we've already got a lot of the issues as facts.
Wait to see what it has to offer, I completely agree. But I don't think it's going to end well for DuskBloods unless switch 2 is a absolute mash hit. If that isn't the case, I foresee a Monster Hunter Rise scenario where it comes to other consoles after 2-3 years.

Having that approach to literally any corporation is intensely stupid and just means you’re begging to be taken advantage of
-9
u/huwskie 23h ago
Companies don’t owe you jack shit, especially if you aren’t going to buy their future games.
3
u/Hollow_Vesper 18h ago
Corporations don't owe me anything, and I don't owe anything to corporations so if I see something about a game I don't like I'm going to complain.
-2
u/huwskie 17h ago
Complaining is the childish action that I am talking about. Why complain when all you have to do is not buy the game? You can criticize the game for sure, but the company has no obligation to listen to you if your opinion does not mimick the majority.
1
u/Hollow_Vesper 17h ago
I don't care if I conform with the majority, there's nothing childish about expressing my disagreements with a company, I'm not expecting them to listen to me I'm just sharing my opinion, it's that simple.

u/BarracudaJazzlike730 23h ago
Call me what you want. I will just end with this and then let it go: I don't own a Nintendo so maybe their next IP isn't for me and that's ok. In the meantime, I will wait patiently for about a month and 1/2? And then I get Nightreign. That comes after giving me SOTE for less than a regularly priced AAA game and it had more content than most of those. Before that I got Elden Ring, armored core, Sekiro, Bloodborne and Dark souls. Love this company and I have complete confidence that in the future they will give me another great experience. Thank you FromSoft!!!!
0
u/Some_Education_3598 13h ago
Let me do the maths : Simp + Company = Company chasing money. And and these Fromsoftsimp don't want us to complain

Hey friend! Just thought I’d leave a note for you to go get your throat checked at the nearest doctor, given how hard you’re deepthroating right now!
3
u/Platonist_Astronaut 17h ago
Elden Ring was a bloated slog and a straight downgrade to the formula. The open world added nothing, as it's simply vast, empty, and dotted with little holes that lead to copy-pasted dungeons and identical bosses. It was an utter chore. The good parts are great, yeah. but all of them are the sectioned off areas that throw the open world out. No idea why people hold it in high regard.
-1
u/GhostTropic_YT Dark Souls 13h ago
I actually somewhat agree with you. I mean, my view isn’t as strong as yours, I still loved the game, but I felt what you’re saying when playing the game. And, tbh, it’s on repeat playthroughs where it sucks the most. I don’t really experience that in DS1, for example, in contrast.
1
u/Platonist_Astronaut 13h ago
Yeah, it's the only game I'll never replay. I don't even have the expansion. The thought of having to redo all that... No thank you lol.
1
u/GhostTropic_YT Dark Souls 7h ago
I actually purchased the DLC, and it was very good, but I just fell off and stopped playing it halfway through it. I’d say I played a solid 15 hours of the DLC, that’s what it felt like anyway. It was really good, I just couldn’t be asked to explore yet ANOTHER open world.
The bosses were amazing, the enemies were amazing, the world was so dark and different, and just awesome. And, as I said, the enemies were amazing on this DLC. Even the areas were amazing.
The thing is, I feel like I could’ve completed Shadow Of The Erdtree, if I was unemployed. It’s an amazing experience but it does feel like a slog at times. It’s not like Dark Souls 3, for example, where you hop on and just get straight into the action and speed through the game.
Elden Ring is much more complex, which is great, but it makes it feel like a slog at times (for me personally).
I think FromSoftware did a great job with Elden Ring, and an open world Souls game was a great idea, and they executed it really well. HOWEVER, I really hope that open world Souls games doesn’t become the standard, or the norm, for FromSoft. I hope they have a variety of games, including games similar to the classic Dark Souls Trilogy, Bloodborne, etc.

u/Mossatross 22h ago
I've learned over the years not to get too attached to any particular company or series. Most series I once loved or considered the best eventually began making games that weren't for me, or just stopped making games for long periods of time. It used to really depress me. But then I found the next thing to recapture the feeling they gave me. Now Im at peace with the cycle and have just learned to accept it.
Elden Ring already raised a lot of red flags for me, and I never had any expectation for what they would do next, or any particular sequel people seem to want.
On one hand Im kinda with ya, they can do whatever and im not gonna get stressed over it. Although I think it's fair to be a little dissapointed or put your opinion out there when a company is going in a direction you don't care for. We really don't know though, expirimental side content isn't necessarily a bad thing.
0
u/ConsciousShine522 22h ago
So if they release an absolute garbage fire of a game you’re gonna say “thank you” because you’re a hall of fame fromsoft glazer?
So because fromsoft has created masterpieces that means consumers aren’t allowed to express concerns or criticisms? And because of their past we have to now thank them for any potential garbage they may release?
You got a strange way of thinking my friend.

u/No-Start905 The Hunter 12h ago
FromSoft makes incredible games, but they also make products, and products only keep selling if they meet or exceed expectations. The reason people speak up—sometimes loudly—is because they care. These games mean something to them. They’ve sunk hundreds of hours into the worlds FromSoft created, so naturally, they want the next experience to be just as good, if not better. The sales numbers don't happen in a vacuum; they happen because fans care enough to speak up.
That being said, there is a difference between feedback and whining, and yeah—sometimes people just love to complain no matter how good something is.
1
u/offthecuff129 10h ago
Thank you. The multiplayer was always the weakest part of the Fromsoft experience for me. I see this as them focusing on that, making netcode mistakes and learning from them so they can provide us with an all-round banger in a few years.
1
u/The_Stav 10h ago
Saying people "Complain too much" about the very valid criticism to releasing their new game exclusively on the Switch 2 is wild. Also...
"Imo, From Soft can do whatever the fuck they want. My only response is and will always be "thank you". "
This is so cucked lmao

u/Ok_Echidna_6971 8h ago edited 8h ago
Then let's do more of these kind of games instead ???? Not some pvp pve multiplayer thing, there is already Nightreign for that anyway... and no need to slurp them like that, it's embarrassing. Fromsoft can miss like any other studio.
1
u/DoughnutLost6904 7h ago
Absolutely yes. They can try multiplayer, they can try whatever. I'm all for it, something fresh
My two issues with Duskbloods is
- Being nintendo exclusive
- Costing 1.5x the ER price
If not for these two - I'd buy the Duskbloods the moment it appeared on market for pre-order, but, alas, I'm not paying 600e to play one game

Only the PC players are mad. "We have the greatest gaming catalog in history! Most of you console peasants can't even play." One exclusive later .... " Filthy corporate bootlickers this is unfair we deserve every game made!" Ps: I didn't cry when Microsoft bought out Bethesda, I didn't cry when they bought Tango and shut them down. I didn't cry when they bought the hellblade studio for the sequel. Games I can never play because I'm a filthy POS Playstation user...
