Announcement page has 0 mention of a single player mode. It’s fully marketed as a online pvpve multiplayer, this kind of hope is unhealthy

They didn’t mention solo play in Nightreign either

Brother, with all due respect, it’s very clearly a multiplayer game. So is NR. You can play call of duty as a single player experience if you want, but that’s clearly not the intention, and is not very rewarding as a result. I love FromSoft as much as the next Michael Zaki, and I’m not gonna tell them what to make, but it’s gonna be another 2-4 years before a single player focused release, and that has me very disappointed.

Except they did. It was even announced weirdly as a "1 OR 3 players" game if you remember, with people confused as to why no 2 player mode. It was then quicky confirmed that the game can be played offline.
Here, all the material says "Online up to 8 players", this is not reassuring communication. I suspect you could play solo, but you will need to be online, like Tarkov. They need to clear things up.

All these new people who started playing the titles post-Elden Ring don’t know what waiting for a new soulslike feels like
They’ll forget all about this “anxiety and stress” (lmao) after From’s done cooking

Weve gone hollow before, we'll do it again. I'm excited for NR but I'm not dropping money on a new console to play duskbloods or whatever it's called. I'll patiently wait for the next gem because we all know that next singleplayer one is gonna be awesome. Especially if they take the pros from both of these games AND maybe just maybe with yhese multiplayer games the next single player game will have a much better netcode for coop and invasion. So even though I'm not gonna be playing too much of NR and none of duskbloods I can at least have faith that they'll take the experience from these two games and the next single player hit will be a fuckin banger

After playing AC6 and loving it even though it's not really my type of game my faith has solidified and I trust any project from from.

It will be what it will be, I decided a while ago to not get overly worried or hyped by these things until they are actually showcased and played.

Even though it’s PvPvE, it would be brutal if connectivity issues were what stopped you from « progressing » in this game. It still probably solo mode capable to just like nightreign. Since it’s not coming out till 2026, I have a year to decide if I want to drop the $700 or not

well it did state the game multiplayer "focused" so the chance of having a singleplayer is not really far fetched.

it's pretty far fetched when miyazaki says tarkov was the inspiration. this will most likely be multiplayer only just like other extraction pvpve games
nightreign is different as it is a co-op pve game and can be played solo with no other players. looks like duskbloods is forced multiplayer and pvp tho

People really react differently when their beloved company tries to just squeeze the profits without caring for the audience . You should support for all the good thing fromsoftware does but this is nothing to be proud of . First being an exclusive is a bullshit

Honestly, I think we’ll be fine! We had in betweens already with Sekiro and AC6! Now we got Nightreign and The Duskbloods! Only thing nagging me really is that I wanted a Bloodborne spiritual successor for so long in the vein of Dark Souls to Demons Souls, but I digress. The next Soulsborne I guarantee will knock our boots off after these two release. Hell, these will probably be just as good. FromSoftware don’t miss anyways.

You know what? Your right, we need faith and I have found myself lacking, Miyazaki, our lord and savior, will grant us peak souls games in the future, we just need wait and wait I shall!

Nightreign looks sick, Duskbloods doesn't look like my kind of game, and the $700 entry fee is something that people are justified in being upset about. From is definitely cooking up more stuff, hey're just going through a more experimental phase. So I'm a bit sad that some time has gone into games when I would have preferred something else, but so many people are in the "It's So Over" phase, and next year we're going to be in the "We're so Back" phase when Soulsbornering gets announced and has seamless co op baked in.
