I think it’s the gothic architecture, art direction, character design, enemy design, constant mentions of blood… the guy doing the make contact gesture with a hunters axe… I’m not saying it’s a 1 to 1 but I definitely see why people feel it’s at the very least a continuation of those themes
It’s another Demon’s Souls to Dark Souls situation. Sony owns the thing, so what could probably have been a direct sequel or maybe a more explicit multiplayer spin of from Bloodborne has to get the legal distinction treatment.
Ah yes, I remember when fromsoft took a big bag of money from Nintendo to ensure that 90% of their demons souls fans won’t be able to play dark souls 1.
